Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

Well.....I think this is the final nail in the coffin of our season. Several guys, including Judge, gone for a bit due to COVID. Voit back to the IL. Having to put Odor, Gardner, Torres, Amburgey, Locastro, and Gittens, in the same lineup in a key stretch of games vs Boston is brutal. At least there’s no chance of us playing okay enough baseball to stop us from selling, aren’t taking games vs Boston with only 3 legit bats on the active roster.

Boone and Cashman still doing the same things that don’t work. Odor in the 3 spot, just said again that they still aren’t considering Stanton for the OF. I’m almost starting to think there was a reason Texas was ready to cover Odor’s salary to get a little something back and get him off their roster.

Park is finally here because the COVID outbreak made them make a smart move, for some reason they insisted on going with Torres and Odor yesterday over the young player crushing it at AAA who might actually hit the ball and be a spark.

This organization is just broken on almost every level.

EDIT: Odor back in the 3 spot, still no Park in the lineup. Yeah I give up at this point.

And of course we beat the Red Sox again without some key players. This team is maddening.

Been a fan since 1960 seen a lot of good teams and a bunch of bad. But for the most part the organization puts a decent team on the field every year may not win it all but you don't see a team so bad they can't play .500 ball. The fan base is way too entitled.

When you charge $300 to sit on the dugout, you get what you get.

Are we? When the team had WS expectations and instead is 9 games out in July.....fans being frustrated makes sense. If we were at least really trying to find ways to win but just a mediocre team their would probably be less complaining, but this team isn’t even doing that. They just make the same maddening choices over and over. Never putting a truly terrible team on the field like the Pirates and Orioles really isn’t that impressive with the resources a Yankees GM has.

The Dodgers are more of the standard for a team like the Yankees. We have 1 division title since 2012. The Dodgers have been running the NL West since 2012.
We have 0 pennants since 2009. They have 3, and a WS win. They’ve also been ran more aggressively and hungry to win then we’ve been in a long time now.

Hey if George was still running the team instead of the kids things might be different. All business now and Cashman isn't Stick. Still this is one helluva long term record.

That last loss tonight would have been the last straw with "The Boss." And its the last straw for me. Fire Boone. It's been time. This is an embarrassing record against Boston and Tampa.

It's unacceptable. It's time to move on.

If Cashman stays and Boone is fired I don’t think anything changes.

Amazing thing is this team is only 3.5 games out of the wildcard. Didn't even realize it. Should we buy should we sell. Can we sell Boone and Cashman lol?

How does Severino come back? Likely rusty. But definitely in time for the stretch drive. Kluber likely back in September.

Just seems like everything has gone wrong. Has. Maybe things will turnaround. But they need some juice.

Yes it's beyond time for him to go. We've had the same issues for a decade. The bullpen blowing so many games this year is new, but beyond that same weaknesses year after year. Doesn't mean he's a disaster he's done some things well but at some point its time for a new approach.

I'm guessing this is what the 80s and early 90's felt like. ( I was born in 1990). A decade plus without even a WS appearance.

Obviously what this franchise has done over its course of history is unparalleled and most teams would kill for a small percentage of that success. But we all know this isn't good enough. It's just the way things are in the Bronx.

Now we basically just threw away Hoy Jun Park for Clay Holmes, a guy with a 4.93 ERA right now and no minors options left. 5.57 career ERA. CashGod outsmarting all of MLB once again. You’re saying there’s not even a chance Park could be even only slightly better then Tyler Wade after how he’s broken out at AAA this year?

I just want to see Park totally embarrass this front office in Pittsburgh.

Gallo time. I’m choosing to be excited even though we’re obviously just diving deeper into the ‘HR, walk, or strikeout’ approach offensively. I thought for sure Volpe would be gone, but Cashman did pretty good on this one. Kept our top end talent and limited it to prospects who are a ways away from the majors. Right now this deal doesn’t sting at all. We do need lefty power bats.

Stanton (supposedly), Gallo, and Judge in the same OF in Miami. Let’s go.

It was a nice addition. Kind of caught me by surprise. I have no idea why we don't have more leftys. You'd think they'd build a more lefty heavy team for the short porch.

Good series against the Rays tonight though. Good comeback after that annoying Red Sox series. But this team has to find some consistency. Just never know with this group.

Rizzo is coming, and there’s rumors we still aren’t done. Cashman picked a strange year to go berserk at the trade deadline, but can’t say I’m not loving it. Now bring us Turner, Story, or Berrios.
