Looks like it's expected for Boone to be back.

Problem starts up top with an ownership that doesn't care about winning, just being in the mix. Boone shouldn't have ever been hired and Cashman should have been fired years ago

Buster Olney reporting it's expected we sign either Correa or Seager, Cash saying we need to get more athletic, contact oriented, and need a shortstop. Thoughts?

Correa, Seager (both 27, Correa is a few months younger)
        Career WRC+: 128, 132
        2021 WRC+: 134, 147
        2021 Slash: .279/.366/.485, .306/.394/.521
        2021 K Rate/Career K rate: 18.1%/20.5%, 16.1%/18.5%
        2021 BB Rate/ Career BB rate: 11.7%/10.8%, 11.7%/9.4%
2021 Fielding Runs Above Average/ Career FRAA (adjusted for position): 6.7/33.5, 4.1/25.6
        fWAR last 3 years (19, 20, 21): 3.1/0.8/5.8, 3.3/1.8/3.7
Games Played last 3 years (out of 384): 281, 281

Seager is left handed and the better hitter, Correa is a better fielder, both have missed games. Correa obviously is hated but as much fun as it is to win the Integrity World Series, I'd prefer a real one so I don't really care anymore.

If I’m NY I’m all in on Seager; he’s a lefty which plays to Yankee Stadium and he’s been more durable in that his games missed was from one injury (TJS) while Correa seems like he’s always banged up. Plus, Correa’s back has bothered him and I always worry that guys with back issues will see a big drop in power.

I despise Correa. He's been a great performer in the playoffs. He's a great player. But I despise him.

Seager has also been a massive performer in the postseason. I'd prefer Seager. I've always liked him.

Well, all the top FA’s are coming off the board and Cashman is asleep. I don’t know about you guys, but personally I’m not watching the 2021 Yankees + Andrelton Simmons next year.

This **** is pathetic. I wish I was more surprised than I am, but Hal and Cashman are who we thought they were.

Lifelong Yankee fan here. Finding it very amusing to see what the Mets have done here. Third place in the AL East is too good for them now. Might as well blow the GD thing up now. Cole is wasted too cheap to get the Astro's SS might as well bring up the not ready for prime time kids now.

I don’t remember him from watching the games, but a left handed 1st baseman that can hit between Judge and Stanton would solve a lot of issues, and he’s entering/in his prime. Only thing that worries me is his K% was really low last year, but not historically, and I don’t know anything about his defense. I’m fine trading any non-Volpe or Martian prospects.

Urshela and Sanchez gone for Donaldson and Kiner Falefa, and we’re picking up all of Donaldson’s salary. How does Cashman manage to mess this offseason up? Worst case scenario should’ve been Olsen/Freeman and a stop gap SS, if not Olsen and Correa/Story, and somehow he turns it into Donaldson and Falefa……

If this is it and we’re out on Freeman, Correa, Story, and Olson now, this offseason is a disaster.

Edit: Heyman says we’re targeting Rizzo now for 1B. Yep, this team won’t win another WS until Brian Cashman is gone. And I thought just adding Andrelton Simmons and running it back would be the worst possible outcome…..

This team wasn't and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I would sign Rizzo short term as cheaply as possible and teach Judge how to play first base. They gonna give up on Voit already? Getting Donaldson 5 years too late.
