Boone really messed up last night. Heaney doesn't belong anywhere on this roster. One good game against Boston shouldn't give you the keys to be a main cog . He sucks. He always has. There's nothing impressive about him. I don't get it. Very winnable game.

And Holmes has been good since he came here. But that spot in the 8th should have been Loisaga's. Boone has to manage every game here on out like it's win or go home. Because he tried to rest guys and it burned him last night.

My dream scenario for us is still to clean house at the end of the year and throw a promotion to President of baseball ops & GM with a blank check at Erik Neander. I know we’ve heard he doesn’t want to leave Tampa, but he has to have a price right? If we can offer 300M+ contracts to players, surely Hal can afford an unusually large investment in the position that’s more valuable to long term success then any one player.

Give him the chance to become the highest paid exec in MLB by a decent margin and then see if he’s still committed to the Rays. It would even save Hal millions long term. Neander probably wouldn’t need to push at the luxury tax barrier every year to field Wildcard teams.

There is no godamn reason Luis Gil should be in the minors and yet Heaney keeps getting reps. Absolutely ****ing stupid. And somebody should be fired over it.

Not sure why I’m still at all invested in the 2021 Yankees. According to Boone we benched Voit today even though he’s had success vs Ryu......because we didn’t want to play Stanton in the OF twice in a row.....in the middle of a team slump playing a team still in the race as we’re barely clinging to the top WC spot. No urgency at all.

I can’t watch Stanton on a Cashman ran team for another 6 years hearing this over and over throughout every season. This isn’t analytics, this is a joke that isn’t funny anymore.

They are who we thought they were, the only hope at this point is for a Mets collapse and cleaning house at the end of the season but even that I don’t think will happen. The fact that Heaney and Kriske are on our roster at any point in the season is enough for me.

Somebody else has to step up. Preferably more then one. Judge and Stanton carried this team for about a month. But inevitably they cooled down.

So it's next man up. Can't just rely on two guys in the lineup.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

Why does every time we have tension or controversy with the other team with this core, and we bring out any sort of taunting energy, this team chokes? Boston, Altuve, Rays, and now Lindor’s Mets. They always go and embarrass themselves, the other team always sticks it to them in the end. Hard to get hyped anymore when you know they usually can’t back it up.

Not sure why Boone is even still here, we’d rather give up and lose then take a chance with any meaningful changes mid season. I don’t think an interim manager will save the season, but there’s no way Boone can be coming back at this point anyway. Can’t hurt.

Best case scenario for the future probably is to lose as much possible though the rest of the way anyway, and finish as far from a WC spot as possible. Give Hal as much reason for significant change as possible. This teams ceiling is just to survive a fluke 1 game WC and get embarrassed by Tampa or Houston again.

Feel bad for Judge. The season he’s having is being completely wasted. Even Stanton, wasted performance and being bubble wrapped.

Aaaaand here we go. Getting bashed in by Tampa Bay at Yankee Stadium even after they’ve already clinched everything and aren’t fighting for anything now, while we’re still clawing at a wild card game.

Even if I were super rich, didn’t care about baseball and just wanted to keep making more and more money to buy more yachts, I’d still be mad if it were me investing 200M+ just to get this team.

Not too surprising end to a relatively disappointing season. You won't do any better than Cashman. Boone has to go. Cole comes up small in a big spot. Bats fairly silent.

I’d rather keep Boone then Cashman. Is it really Boone’s fault when he’s more of a clubhouse manager then a guy actually making decisions?

I don’t really see how they can’t do better then Cashman. What has he done since 2012? 1 division title and a bunch of wild card contenders. If you can’t field a wild card caliber team most years with Yankees level resources, that’s pretty bad. Legacy of this championship window is being beaten down by better ran rivals. Cashman is the safest option for Hal’s pockets since you can do worse, but he’s not the best option for building a WS winner.

Suzyn Waldman had a pretty good rant on this team on the post game last night.

The most impressive feat in Cashman’s recent career is convincing fans we didn’t need Bryce Harper or Manny Machado.
