Girardi must have been over ruled, or had a change of heart.

Yea, my fault on that. I thought I had read that he had done harsher complaining, but his comments weren't actually bad.

Still think the Yankees are being fair though.

I feel like we've known since at least Monday he was playing today and tomorrow.

A-Rod on ESPN News and the ESPN App.

Definitely made it seem like he won't sign anywhere else at least this season. Said he wants to "take a long nap and spend some time with my little ones". Also, that Pinstripes are enough.

I'll say this: this situation is unfortunate. He loves baseball, that much is obvious. I'm sitting here watching this ESPN profile, and I get so happy watching those highlights. I'll never forget them. I do hope Girardi puts him at 3rd late in the game and takes him out so he can get cheered. I'll probably cry. This sucks. I'm glad it'll be over.

Kind of wish Girardi would have let A-Rod play third tonight. If this was Jeter that request to play third wouldn't have been denied. Definately hope they do that and Girardi pulls him out so he gets cheered too but I kind of doubt it's gonna happen. Well A-Rods up now. Who knows maybe he has one more great day (or should I say night) at the plate in him.

Tyler Austin called up. Aaron Judge hits another homer in AAA. Hicks is hitting .198.

                    JUDGEMENT DAY IS UPON US!

This makes me so happy. Just saw Hicks at 2nd...what in the actual **** is going on with this guy? Did he save Cashman from drowning?

Didi is batting cleanup? Should be hitting third or higher. Makes more sense to put the lefty between the switch hitters.

                      Forces more pitching changes.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

There shouldn't be 2 switch hitters to put Didi between because Hicks should be batting 9th

I really don't get it. We don't have a perfect set of names for perfect lineup optimization obviously, but why put such a terrible hitter at 2nd? I am only kind of joking about putting Hicks at 9, that depends mostly on how much pressure you want to put on the young guys but it's not like it's the ALCS so I wouldn't worry about that.

I think I would go Ellsbury, Castro, Didi/Headley 3/4 (either way, our lineup is so righty heavy it's tough to go too heavy on R/L swapping), Sanchez, Austin, Judge, Hicks, Romine. I could see an argument for Hicks over Austin/Judge maybe based only on experience, but I'd argue that what we don't know about Judge/Austin is more promising than what we do know about Hicks. And it's a righty starter. I don't know. I really hope someone asks Joe post game why Hicks is batting at the top of the order. His OPS is SLIGHTLY higher than Romine's.

I heard Austin was called up, on the broadcast last night, but Judge too! A new era is upon us.

I'm not even gonna comment on Hicks, nothing can ruin this moment.

Exciting day to be a Yankees fan. Get to see Judge, Austin, and more of Sanchez. But wait, I thought Girardi said he was managing to win and trying to put his best lineups out there? Personally if I was trying to win a game Hicks wouldn't be batting second in my lineup but that's just me.

Edit: Solo shots for Austin and Judge in their first MLB at bats!!!
