Daniel Murphy didn’t make it to the Yankees on the revocable Trade waiver wire. Expected, but still sucks. Would have been a great addition.

Bird keeps sinking into the abyss. When is it enough already? Send him down and bring someone else up already.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Like I've said before, I truly believe Tyler Austin is a better player than Bird. It's just about that time where we need to seriously consider this. Bird has had many many chances.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
The Yankees just need to hit the market for a 1b next year. They all can't develop. Bird's clock is about up. Nobody in the system is very special. Tyler Austin wasn't the answer either.
Either that. Or give Andujar some reps over there. If the Yankees are going after Machado.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
Boston seems to be hitting a tough stretch finally. About to be swept by Tampa. At least they can’t beat Tampa now either. With Severino going tonight hopefully it can be down to 6 after tonight. Yankees have 6 easy games lined up vs the White Sox and Tigers, all at home.
Things could get interesting.Comment

They need to bring up literally anyone who is capable of playing first base a little bit so they can rest Voit when needed and send Bird down and let him try to work things out at AAA. Just let Voit be the everyday 1B.Comment

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
But I agree with DamnYanks that they should focus on a replacement in the off season. The Yankees may be hesitant because they believe in Bird but sometimes players just don't reach their potential.
I know Bird is young and has had injuries but his slumps are devastating. When he's on he's one of the best players in baseball but it's for a couple weeks and it's sandwiched around brutal brutal play for what feels like twice the weeks on both ends.
I haven't thought about who is available in free agency but maybe a veteran or cheap bat to at least compete.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
I think Bird lost too much development time through his injury plagued seasons. He could still figure it out. But the question is. Is it worth it to keep waiting? I personally don't think Bird is ever going to be a star. So my answer would be No.

Man, I'm sick and tired of Bird.
