Hmmm.***mors are starting to surface about the Cubs trying to get Pierre. Burnett is about gone and I heard trader jack has worn out his welcome so its not too far fetched. It seems like Juan needs a change of scenery every couple of years to get going again.Comment

Re: ***2005 Cubs Thread***
Originally posted by JisticIF that happens, and I have serious doubts. I would become VERY excited. I believe I read somewhere that the Cubs were the 4th worst team in baseball hitting from the leadoff position? Just demoting COrey was addition by subtraction.Comment

Just wondering...
What do you guys think the turnaround would be if we had not played Patterson, or used him differently? In terms of number of games?
I know it is hard to blame one guy, but he is all but a one man rally-stopper.
He is a doofus who won't accept the need to be less power-oriented at the plate, and his manager is a doofus who can't tell the difference...
I say around 7-12 games on the good side...thoug injuries kept the decent replacements out for awhile, this is hypothetical...Australian Rules Football...just sayin'Comment

Re: ***2005 Cubs Thread***
Karen Wood has to be the biggest ***** in baseball. Jistic have a field day with this one. Fugazi, I think if Harriston had been the leadoff hitter all year and played LF everyday this team would be a couple of games better but its hard to judge that. Still think so though, and if they finish a game out like last year they will have no one to blame but themselves.

Honestly, the Cubs need to continue to purge these guys that the organization had earmarked as stars and move on. I'd rather have a Matt Clement who can go to the bump every fifth day than a soft over priced "star" that's NEVER been a great pitcher and never will be. Wood's gotta go, Pattersons gotta go. They already got rid of Sammy so continue the job. I know they don't want to admit draft mistakes, but hey that's sports. I'd seriously rather have the Cubs be a .400 team with guys that play every day, don't make excuses, and give a total effort.
We have some guys like that on the team now, but the bad apples, or sour grapes ruin the whole thing. Wood is like a bad relationship with a hot chick. You're better off hitting it one last time and just moving on. Right now I'd rather date someone uglier, but more stable.PSN: JISTIC_OS
