Last I heard about CP is that he said Baker and Co. in Chicago never advised him to shorten his swing. Those clowns. People watching baseball for the first time know a loop d loop swing is doing much.University of Evansville Graduate

What a ******* embaressment. How in the world can you lose like this. Micheal Barett is the biggest ***** in the MLB. My 9 year old little league team would have thrown Rollins out, only this garbage *** managed team allows this. Over 100 games into the season and we have 3, that right 3 damn pitchers forget to cover first base and it costs us the game and could have gotten our star 1B hurt.
It happens because this fat bum sits on his *** and doesnt hold these players accountable. They do what ever they want, because there is nothing going to be done. Weurtz throws strike 3 right down the middle before the embaressment and it gets called a ball and that bum just sits in the dugout pretending to be pissed. Go out there and do something and stand up for your team. Never does he go out and argue a call and when he does he walks out there like he died yesterday. By the time he gets there you forget what even happened. I can see why Scoop Jackson sticks up for this loser scumbagComment

Re: ***2005 Cubs Thread***
WTF was that lineup today?
Did we really acquire Lawton to bat lead-off?
Why do we not feature Lee and ARam back-to-back every day?
Man, there were so many things this year that pointed to a good season, not the least of which was Lee's start...I hope he isn't exhausted for next year...but maybe I am wrong...
Despite whatever quality his throws this evening, Barrett doesn't need to be hitting in the 8 hole...It is a minor shift, but he should be at 6-7, with Neifi slapping hits to get the Pitcher up to the plate with 2 outs...
HERE, HOWEVER, IS THE REAL ISSUE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
IT does not matter what we say about the team if we speak of it as a living creature, i.e., that what happens, happened, and is happening on the field on a day-to-day basis is, somehow, by its being tinkered with, can change the outcome.
THE OUTCOME is the issue, in that this year's team was stillborn, if not aborted altogether. The OUTCOME was already set, predestined, if not having already ocurred before the season began.
The real team issues were not dealt with, outside of dealing Sosa, in the offseason. (and the world is irrational enough for me to consider that the Sosa move was not the best idea...) There has been ZERO management of this team NOW FOR TWO YEARS!!!!!!! Add to that the fact that NO ONE would take Kerry Wood now, well, not for anything worthwhile...
Our team dedicated itself to Corey Patterson generally sight unseen, while it gave up on Matt Clement....This team continues to believe that having in no sense a steady lineup is beneficial, while it continues to sit its 2d or 3d most consistent pitcher of the past two seasons in G. Rusch (He is no savior, but...)
This team continues to trot out the JV bullpen, while our minor league system is lauded for the pitching talent it has within it.
We rarely stick with or see developed players, however, whether Kelton or Pie; when they are available they are Dubois and Patterson (We should recall, however, Patterson's start two years ago before the injury that ended his season).
This is so very depressing...Australian Rules Football...just sayin'Comment
