My point is that the Cubs are a better team with Hairston in the lineup even if that meand Nomars not playing.

      Re: ***2005 Cubs Thread***

No doubt, Hairston should play everyday.
Also, why is LEE continually being batted fifth or sixth?
This guy is a great hitter, and is wasted in those spots.
Today (game2 vs Cards) he is batting behind BURNITZ!!!
WTF? I know JB needs protection so he can strike out on good pitches instead of bad ones, but GOD!!!!!
      today's lineup
      hairston
      perez
      patterson
      ramirez
      burnitz
      lee

Why is an AB from PEREZ more valuable than one from LEE? There is no excuse for this crap.
Last year Dusty wouldn't hold a lineup consistently, and he is doing the same crap this year. If I was LEE, I would call him out.
There is NO reason perez, patterson, AND Burnitz should be in front of LEE.
Why is Busty unwilling to play the one lineup we all want to see? Why is he unwilling to bat Lee and Ramirez 3-4 or vice versa? Why cant Patterson bat fifth or sixth, where a guy like him can do well?

          AAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dempster has held the Cards to 1 run on 4 hits over 6 innings....
With 2 out in the 7th and HENRY BLANCO on 1st, Baker decides to pinch hit with Mike Fontenot....is that the best we can do?!??!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?
Sure, let's turn this one run game, so far our most important of the year, against our toughest division and league opponent, over to our bullpen.....
you know, the bullpen that sucks really bad and will likely change the tone of this game....0-6 redbirds...betcha money.

And he brings Dempster out as the 7-9 hitters (combined 0-6) are coming to bat for the cards.......

I hear you, I have been beggin for Jerry to play from Day 1. Didnt do much today but he gives them a leadoff hitter. I just think were gonna miss what Nomar was capable of unless he is on the downside of his career, then you might be right. Oh well whatelse is new, this is a joke

Really its not like it matters when you have a Dusty managing. I like today how he made Walker hit off of Remlinger just for the sake of having the lefty-lefty matchup even though Walkers like 8/18 off of Remlinger. Way to be on top of things Dusty.

Dusty is a LAZY, anti-intellectual dumb***.
Plain and simple. This team, with its veterans, should not require much coaching and management, but Dusty can't even deliver on that.

Ya he still doesnt know that Rem cant get lefties out. I knew this in 2003.

EDIT: Since I was at school today I missed the game. I didnt know the situation you were speaking of but figured he screwed up with Rem again. After hearing what this loser did, i am speechless. What a crock of ****. I hope he gets run over tonight. We will never win with him. Why do i even bother, ugh.

Indeed. How this guy was touted as one of the best managers in the league just a few years back is beyond me. People in San Fran. must not know much about baseball.

This whole organization can go to hell. We will never win with that loser Dusty as manager. Hendry you suck too, this bullpen is a joke. No one on this team respects the manager because they can do whatever they want with no consequence. Thats why we will never win. As Bill Cartwright once said TERRABLE!

I didnt think it was possible, but this bum #12 gets dumber by the minute. Tonight he might have ended a career because of his stupidity. This is getting comical now. Who brings in a pitcher who pitched the day before and cant pitch 2 days in a row with a ******* 7 RUN LEAD!!!!! You seriously have to be ****ing me.

I hear he'll be out for the year. Dumb move by Dusty, but this guys had a history. The Cubs are notorious for going on the cheap with their Bullpen. Getting guys that were once good, but are recovering from injuries. It's been Hendry's strategy for years, instead of paying healthy guys. Of course he did that with Hawkins and look where that got him.

Just another injury they'll use as an excuse in July when they're fighting to stay above .500. And yes the fans will buy it.

I just gave away 4 tickets, for tonights game. 12th row on the aisle, right behind the Cubs dougout. I don't wanna freeze my *** off for these a$$clowns.
