Booing Rivera is a disgrace. No wonder Yankee fans have the reputation they do.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

I didn't boo him. I respect all former Yankees.This space for rent.Comment

Re: Official New York Yankees Bleacher Creatures Team Thread
I may just be hunting for reasons to justify the booing... but there were a lotta Sox fans there (a lot of cheering when the Sox scored) so maybe it was them showing their displeasure of Rivera.
I saw a lot of people claiiping though when Rivera came out so I don't know... probably just some idiot bandwagoners that don't know how much Rivera's meant to the Yankees.

Re: Official New York Yankees Bleacher Creatures Team Thread
Yankees fans have a reputation as being arrogant and booing star players on their own team. They're also known to leave the game early if their team isn't performing up to snuff. Thats the general perception I've gotten and I've encountered Yankees fans who agree with it and are actually proud of such a reputation.Comment

(2-1)
Pitchers
Baltimore Orioles = Sidney Ponson
VS. NYY ('02-'05) = (4.36 ERA, 3-8 W-L, 60 SO, 28 BB, 97 IP, .260 AVG)
New York Yankees = Jaret Wright
VS. BAL ('02-'05) = (7.94 ERA, 0-0 W-L, 4 SO, 2 BB, 5.2 IP, .385 AVG)
Key Players
Baltimore Orioles = Todd Williams
2.0 IP, 1.000 Off Base % (opp = 0 for 6), 0.00 ERA
New York Yankees = Hideki Matsui
.500 AVG (6 for 12), 2 HR's, 12 TB
Key Concerns
Baltimore Orioles = Melvin Mora
.083 AVG (1 for 12), 3 SO
New York Yankees = Derek Jeter
Beaned in the head, forced Jeter to leave game vs. Red Sox early. (Questionable)

My Predictions:
Orioles = 6
Yankees = 9
Jared Wright will have trouble with his official debut pitching on an American League Roster... and he will see the effects as soon as he notices that the 9th batter is not a pitcher anymore.
Luckily for the Yankees, Ponson gives up a lot of homeruns, and since the Yankees are a homerun hitting team, we should see some long balls, and homerun trotting today.
This will be a game of who can score the most, and Hideki Matsui should add another homerun to his stat sheet today.
Player of the Game: Hideki Matsui
