Yeah as a diehard Illinois fan we have no one to blame for not making the dance but ourselves, we had some great wins this year, but we had some brutal losses to, if we win 1 or 2 of our bad losses we're likely in the tourney, we didn't though and that killed us.

Win one of the Utah, Bradley, Northwestern, Minnesota (game was in Champaign is the only reason I consider this a bad loss), or even win the Gonzaga game (not a bad loss by any means but easily could've won it), just flip 1-2 of those losses into wins and we're in the dance.

We killed ourselves, you can't blame the committee for leaving you out when you leave your fate in their hands, you have to take care of business on your own.

Not shocked Duke got the treatment they did. Hell does anyone not remember all of the Greensboro and other NC city regionals Duke has been to? Tourneys where they didn't leave their area code until the Final Four..

I'm sick of seeing these conference tournaments carry so much weight. Notre Dame was a ****ing bubble team before the Big East Tournament but because they play well in a 4-day span that warrants a 6 seed? Give me a break. And then they contradict themselves by putting Florida in as a 10 seed while the Gators blew it in the SEC tournament.

And I got my wish...Texas vs Kentucky. Round 2. Cats are done.

I believe they changed that rule.

Texas, if they actually make it out of the first round, will have such a gigantic mismatch in the back court vs Kentucky that the game won't even be close. Texas will not beat Kentucky. And I'm far from a Kentucky believer.

G'Town looked good at MSG but you can't give a 2-seed to a team with 10 losses, went 10-8 in conference play and finished 8th in their conference. If the field wasn't so bad this year G'Town would be a 5 or 6 seed, it's amazing they got a 3.

                  My thoughts on the bracket:

I think the Kansas bracket is the hardest even though I think Michigan State is being over-hyped. I think Cornell is better than a 12 seed and I have no idea how Temple got a 5. I thought they should have either gotten a 3 or a 4.

And Alabama didn't? Hell our starting PG was 5'9. Kentucky's guards aren't good at running a half court offense. They aren't solid perimeter shooters and tend to get too fancy with their passes causing turnovers.

A good zone defense against Kentucky will cripple their offense. Alabama didn't have the talent to keep their foot on UK's throat the whole 40 minutes. Texas has the talent. They just need to play to their potential like they did in the first 60% of the season.

And if Kentucky plays up to their potential they'll wipe the floor with Texas.

I woke up, saw Kansas's bracket, and shook my head.

I think the right teams got in (sans Florida probably) but the seeding messes everything up, and that is gonna make me look over my bracket and change it about eight times before Thursday.

You're putting way, way too much stock in a regular season game that Kentucky won.

Texas this year is a joke, and imo, it'll be over by halftime. And as someone else said, if UK plays to their potential, hell even 55% of it, Wall and Cousins will be dougin' (the dance they do) on the bench up by 25.

A zone won't do anything against UK unless it's Syracuse's. Wall and Bledsoe will get into the lane so easily against a zone plus Cousins & company will eat the opposition alive on the offensive glass against a zone (hell, they do against m2m). I do think defense is the key to beating UK though but Texas isn't the magic potion.

As for Texas, they are so soft it's scary. Their talent, much like UConn this year, is vastly overrated. Damion James is an animal but outside of that there isn't much that impresses. Bradley will be very good down the line but Dexter Pittman will probably go in the tank the first time Cousins scores on him. Not to mention we'll be throwing Rick Barnes into the equation here too.
