    Re: Selection Sunday Thread

The day after and it's really hit me, that Baylor is a friggin' 3 seed, a 3 seed. This program has come so far since the "incident" and I am just amazed at the job Scott Drew and company have done.

I keep hearing a lot of the National Media picking Baylor as the sleeper Final Four team, while I like the pub, I'm not sure about that. I think a Sweet 16 is a great possibilty though.

I think that was more of match ups (no one could check Rip) and Calhoun out coaching Coach K.

And the fact that Tim Higgins didn't call all those ridiculous Battier flops, that was pretty big as well.

Well maybe Syracuse should come to play next year during conf. tourney time like Dook did. Whether or not they should mean something is a whole other debate, but you can't come out and get dropped 1st game of your conference tourney and sit around and watch from the couch for a week while cats slug it out. Dook earned their 1 seed. The argument that their entire bracket "lays out easily" for them is in the eye of the beholder really, that's seeding for you. Maybe they got a lucky draw, maybe they get dropped early, who knows.

But didn't the tourney committee claim they look at the entire body of work and not the last few weeks of the season? Remember, they removed the Last 12 W/L from consideration in selecting teams. Seems wishy-washy to me.

It just seems like one helluva coincidence they get the #3 overall seed and the easiest bracket, far and away easier than KU's bracket.

You owe John Beilein a tip of the cap too, if he never comes to Michigan, Udoh never transfers to Baylor.

Kentucky will go as far as Calipari's coaching will take them. did he learn anything from the last two seasons or not?

I really wanted to put Baylor in my Final Four, but I just couldn't. I think not making the Sweet 16 would be a pretty big disappointment.

Agreed. As is the case for nearly every team that has ever played in the tournament.

Did he learn anything? Hopefully he did but hopefully UK can win it without being in that position. But he has seemed to understand, either through past experiences or just smartening up some, that this team is very young and inexperienced and has been calling late timeouts to make sure everyone is set. Wasn't doing this in the beginning of the year and while we only have 2 losses, some of the games early on could have benefitted from a timeout late in the game.

Udoh has been such a difference maker.

The play-in team only plays Friday/Sunday. Since KU plays Thursday (And UK for that matter) they end up playing Duke.

Oh, ok. I still say this so called impartial committee should be ashamed of itself for what they did concerning Duke, simply shameful. No way they should be in a NIT brackett like that. I hope Louisville or California knocks em off.

I agree that the South is probably the weakest bracket, but Villanova, Baylor, Louisville are nothing to scoff at, and Siena is in there as a possible spoiler.

If Duke has to play Nova again, they're screwed.

Yeah but if you put Georgetown, Ohio State, or West Virginia in that region a lot of people would take one of those teams to the Final Four. I think that shows how weak it is.
