I really haven't seen CPU comeback AI to this level since the early days of Madden. Some people say, "Play good defense and you'll be fine." Ok, so I get in the PG's face and play him tight...he drives right past me for a layup (down the always wide open paint). Next time, I adjust and play off him a bit to prevent the drive...he pulls back for a 3-pointer (which, regardless of difficulty level, goes in about 80% of the time, whether I have a hand in his face or not). Then, at some point, in literally every game (usually in the 2nd half), I just stop making shots. Even A and A+ shots stop going in. This goes for layups, mid-range and free-throws. In about 90% of the games I play, I am winning or losing by less than 10 points at halftime, then the 3rd quarter comes along, and weird things (like Kevin Durant dribbling off of his foot 2 or 3 possessions in a row). The game is absolutely beautiful, and I want to love it, because, when it does work smoothly, it feels great. The learning curve, even at lower levels, just seems to be much too sharp for someone who isn't willing to put in 10 hours a day to learn every last isomotion move...

I'm just not seeing this. It's unfathomable how many people have posted in this thread. I've read the whole thing and seen none of it. And I'm new to the series! You'd think the AI would abuse a noob like me!
Sitting at 14-6 on Pro Sim. I've only had one game where the "big CPU run" has happened in the 4th. Usually, I see them adjust to me in the 2nd or early 3rd at the latest. But I see it and I adjust.
I've blownout the CPU on several occasions and so far when I've needed Durant and Westbrook to get me through, they've done it.
No balls bouncing off foots at suspect time. No crazy cold streaks suddenly from a hot player. No 70% shooting CPU in the 4th. None of that. Nothing suspect at all.Comment

Agreed. At times they make a shot I think they shouldn't and shake my head, or someone heats up and I don't agree with it but that's just me personally how I feel at that moment lol. I beat the Hawks last night 103-76, I've lost and won close games......to me it all evens out. I'm also playing on All Star with completely default sliders. In my blowout win last night I think the Hawks shot like 37% to my 55%, with my play style I see no issues.Comment

Re: Next Gen CPU Cheese/Cheating Is Amazing!
Why?
You do realize the last I checked the real OKC Thunder have a MUCH MUCH better winning percentage than I do, right?
It's not even close. As of three days ago, they'd lost 10 games in all. I'm almost there. My guess is well before XMas in my season. Where are we in real life now? Almost February!
The real OKC are playing a lot better than the Heroes one. As of now, any way.Comment

Just checked. They're 36-10. I'm 14-6.

Re: Next Gen CPU Cheese/Cheating Is Amazing!
Oh, no worries man. It was an honest question. I know very little about the real NBA and want my games to be very realistic, so I've been stat digging online just to make sure I was on the right/realistic path.
To my surprise, my stats are very solid outside of a couple (FT% and Off Rebs are the main two).
But anyway, I just wasn't sure if something in my post jumped out to you that needed to be addressed. I'm new to the series and like getting series veteran's opinions.
Thanks for the feedback.Comment

It becomes much more challenging playing a lesser team on All-Star and above and unlikely things happen with too much regularity, where as on Pro the CPU doesn't provide enough challenge with those same teams.Comment

Re: Next Gen CPU Cheese/Cheating Is Amazing!
That's a good idea. I'm debating changing from HOF to allstar or superstar for a more sim experience . Might try it#1 Laker fan

I play pro sim but thats what ive done ...a couple of the few sliders that ive changed. Im just wondering what others experiences would beComment

Re: Next Gen CPU Cheese/Cheating Is Amazing!
I recommend superstar sim, with tweaked sliders(lowered shooting sliders for everyone for more realistic percentages and slightly lowered offensive rebounding sliders for the cpu).Comment
