Re: Next Gen CPU Cheese/Cheating Is Amazing!

I'll give you this Coach2k... I'm going back and playing a game on Rookie. Right now, it's too easy. There's not much in the way of the glitchy gameplay that I've saw thus far. It's not to say that it isn't there, but it's not rearing it's ugly head.

I'm not sure what sliders you're using to make the game competitive, but I am up on the Heat 28-12 right now with the Bucks with 3 minutes left in the 1st. I turned it from SIM to default, and it seems to help the controller responsiveness and not being thrown out of position by junk animations. It feels closer to the 1:1 movement on a controller.

If I could get the game to be legitimately competitive on Rookie, I have no problem playing Rookie. I just don't know if I can get it to where the Stats are "on point" and not handicapping myself to a point where it skews all stats to the CPU as well.

I'll admit when I'm wrong, and if this game keeps up without the glitchy mess that the last 2 games were, then that's great. It's just not competitive on Rookie at the moment.

I can only tell you how I approach things but I don't use rookie mode to get a realistic box score. I use rookie mode to learn. I use it to learn all of the players on roster, my plays, my opponents, my opponents plays everybody's tendencies.

As far as settings go, I am out of the box 12 minute quarter simulation slider guy. I only adjust the difficulty level.

Obviously you have an objective which is to get a realistic box score, a competitive game, one you can win and one which you can enjoy. I'm here to tell you that it's possible at the highest level in spite of all of the evidence shared to the contrary.

And it's also impossible IF you want to believe it is. And you'll have plenty of company to support you.

As far as rookie goes, it is too easy but it's the best place to start for most people.

Your goal on rookie, is basically learning to ultimately destroy the CPU and the reason that you want to do that is so you will be a better player at pro and then repeat the process on pro to become a better all star player if that is what you want.

Much of the game is positioning and timing and decision making so when I read things like every time I get a block it goes right back to them and they score, that's about positioning. While it's definitely true on all levels, even rookie, you'll get a greater understanding of how to do it on pro or whatever level you land on.

The reason so many people have complaints is because they force game play and ignore the little nuances that are pretty important and the result is what people post.

What a box score on rookie should probably look like:

I'd love to try this on rookie with the offensive awareness and defesive awareness near max to see what it does because those sliders certainly work

Honestly guys you just have to learn the game and players beyond attributes. Know tendencies cold/hot spots, what gets player hot, what gets a player cold etc...

I understand the frustration ... Remember this thread ?
          http://www.operationsports.com/forum...em-now-18.html.

I started that. Once I broke the game down and attempted to understand it I don't have that same opinion .

The problem with blocking and them getting the ball back doesn't have anything to do with positioning. Not 100% at least. The CPU goes through no animation when they get blocked. They recover almost instantly where the human player and their team takes long as hellto respond to the loose ball.

Re: Next Gen CPU Cheese/Cheating Is Amazing!

In that game the CPU got about five steals. I'd bet any money those were off the CPU's omniscience when you're passing the ball to someone and knowing exactly when to put their arms up to bat the ball down.

The ball loses all momentum and direction when the CPU deflects it. The ball doesn't carom up into the air or just continue going forward just at a completely different direction. Nope, cuz the CPU always, 100% gets a hand or arm perfectly dead center on the ball, no matter what player is doing it. Even the slowest reaction time having bigs IRL.

Re: Next Gen CPU Cheese/Cheating Is Amazing!

I was once excited for this game. But when the game does cheese a lot it takes the fun away. Someone posted on here that 95% of the time when you block the CPU it ends up right back in his or a teammates hands TRUE. Also you can't box the CPU out. This game is fu**ing ridiculous. In every 4th quarter no matter how far I am ahead the pc makes a run, I'm fine with that, it happens in real life but I'll be damned if it takes me 5mins to make a shot on offense every time. There's a lot more going on in this game that I despise but just don't have the time or energy to write because I am too frustrated with it and it pisses me off thinking about it.

Needless to say I am done with this piece of sh** for a game.

Re: Next Gen CPU Cheese/Cheating Is Amazing!

I have no idea how anyone can say that the game does not cheese to win. Human players get stuck in animations (usually when you have a clear lane to the basket, or see one of your team with a clear lane) at the absolute worst times. When I block a CPU player's shot, he recovers immediately, but I get stuck in this weird animation that only lets me control my player again once (surprise, surprise) the CPU player has picked up the ball and dunked it in my face. I also love passing to an open player only to see him watch (with slack jaw and hands at his side) the pass sail out of bounds. Shall I mention the times when I have four of my players under the basket only to watch the other team's PG swoop in for the offensive rebound? How about watching Nate Robinson drive down the lane and run over both Roy Hibbert AND David West for a layup when making contact with a CPU player's shadow causes my player to trip all over himself? Players like Kevin Durant missing A and A+ free throws in EVERY close game or dribbling the ball off of his foot on consecutive possessions, after I had gotten the CPU's lead down to 2 points? I have tried ever slider and setting in this forum, and they make literally no difference. I actually turned all of the CPU's offensive sliders down to 0 during an insane run, and had them go on to make 8 consecutive baskets. I've been playing this game for 2 months, and am actually worse now then when I began...

I definitely refuse to believe there's no cheese when I tell my PG to move to the right and he decides to take a huge step back and step on the halfcourt line. Or how EVERY SINGLE one of the AI's steals are successful, always magically bouncing to one of their players, meanwhile when I block shots they're immediately picked up and converted by the person who just got blocked. Etc.

This post is so accurate. Even with dimer 2 Melo, Jr, Shump & Hardaway don't take open shots. Every time I pass the ball down low to Stoudemire or Chandler they go into a freaking layup animation and then get blocked. One game Larry Sanders had 9 blocks -_-. On top of that i'm trying to get Floor General but I cant seem to raise my 76% teammate chemistry . I'm in a few games after the all star game . I'm looking to unlock dimer 3 & hopefully that would make things better *sigh*

I've started the same game over now 7 times. I start at halftime Pacers/Pellies. I'm the Pacers. I'm down three at half. Every single game, I have lost by 10-14 points. It's insane how this works out like that. It makes me feel like I have zero control over this game. I have tried different strategies each time and no matter what it ends up like that. There was one time where I thought it finally changed. I was down 4 with a minute and a half left and they still got to 11.

Hard to want to play a game when no matter what I do I feel like it will end up however the game wants it to end up.
