Re: Patch #3 XB1 and International PS4 Update Thread
Everyone is freaking out and calling for heads.
I would rather wait a little bit and make sure they can iron out the bugs. I bet they saw some of the bugs with the PS4 US release and used that feedback to knock out the major glaring bugs before worldwide release. I wouldn't be surprised if the people that got the patch already also receive some sort of hot fix.
If you play PC games this happens all the time. A good example is Payday2. That game will release a 2GB patch and within 24 hours there is a hotfix released. I would say 7 out of 10 updates to that game are like that.
They should have more communication IMO. I would say that they don't have to say anything really but if you come in here or on Social media and say one or two things about it then there should be a open and frequent dialogue. Either all or nothing.
Just my $.02
no idea what is was but it could be a hotfix like you mentioned.
im still wondering that now EU will get a different patch will i still get the desync stuff trying to play with people with the EU version.
got the US version myself lol.Comment

Re: Patch #3 XB1 and International PS4 Update Thread
Pulling stuff out of their behinds (trying hard to respect the TOS) again. Microsoft or Sony don't bugtest patches, I mean who's going to buy that crap. Nor does it take them 10-14 days to approve a patch - respect us enough to say "we apologize for the delay but we've found some bugs in the patch that we want to address before releasing it", and at the same time apologize to their PS4 USA consumers and assure them that they'll receive the same bug fixes at the same time. IF that really is what's at play here - at this point I really don't know if they're being sincere or trying to pull our legs.
hopefully.Comment

If it's not against the TOS, I believe the OP said this is the thread for people to vent so if you don't wanna see those type of post, you seem to be in the wrong thread bruh.

Re: Patch #3 XB1 and International PS4 Update Thread
During last night's livestream they kind of addressed the situation tho. LD confirmed the patch had some issues (although it seems weird to me that a huge patch like this one could be rejected because it created a glitch with purchased shoes for MyPlayer...) and Ronnie said it was re-sent to MS and Sony Europe, then added that the same process applies to Australian users, and said we have to wait... 10-14 days.
Monday 12/8: Patch released on PS4. People are complaining about the missing shoe bug. 2k Marketing confirms the patch is still coming for PC and X1.
Wednesday 12/10: Patch released on PC. More reports of the shoe bug.
Thursday 12/11: LD says he is going to check with MS about the X1. Silent about the international PS4 patch.
Friday 12/12: No update from 2k Marketing except for a twitter post from LD stating that MS said the patch could drop "maybe by the end of the week". 2k UK marketing says the patch was submitted that day for international users.
Monday 12/15: Still no update from 2k marketing on OS but Ronnie and LD state on their twitter pages that they are "still waiting on MS".
Tuesday 12/16: LD states on OS that the patch is still being tested by MS but allegedly states during the livestream that the patch had been resent to MS.
Here is my issue: It appears that from the facts that 2k Marketing knew that there was an issue with the patch last week and that it would be needed to be resubmitted and misled everyone about it.
At this point its just the principal. Over the past week, I've been playing WWE, UFC, Fifa and Madden w/ GTA and Forza Horizon on deck. I havent played NBA 2k in over a week.
With that said, I dont like when I'm or other OSers are lied to or mislead by people affiliated with a game company. People come to OS because this forum gives them the opportunity to interact with game company staff which is something that not alot of forums offer. Because of that access, we take steps to protect game company staff from attacks, insults and abuse.
But we dont allow staff to mislead our members and as I said yesterday, I'm not a fan of a one sided relationship. You cant use OS to hype your games/features and then disappear when there are major issues with the game.
Some of you may not know this but our relationship with 2k developers has nothing to do with 2k marketing AT ALL. Beluba used to be on the OS Staff. Rob Jones has been a lurker on OS for years. You guys already know about Da Czar and Mike Stauffer who were Osers before they were 2k employees. Those guys understand the relationship. They answer what they can and if they say they are going to give us an answer or keep us informed....they do. No lies. No sarcastic comments. Just straight up answers.
This whole situation just leaves me with a bad taste. Its not my call but I think we should reconsider how much access and protection we give game company PR/Marketing. If anyone else had done what 2k marketing has done, we would consider that trolling.Last edited by aholbert32; 12-17-2014, 10:39 AM.Comment

If this is true, I'm going to talk to Steve and Mil and think hard about what we do here. I'm hesitant to call anyone a liar but here are the facts:
