I'd say leave it, but tweak it. The concept is really good, but it sometimes seems glitched and you will often miss wide-open shots with almost perfect releases. It's unrealistic to see to have 87 3pt shooting in MC and have a 33 %, not saying it should be 50+ % like Korver in real life, but at least people should be able to shoot, at least, at 40 % in a consistent basis. I almost never take 3s in MC because they chance of having a good game from outside the arc is really slim, even with 87 3pt attribute, wide-open shots and almost perfect releases. I know it's not easy to accomplish, because there are a LOT of shooting forms, but it would be neat if you guys could balance it out in a way everybody could use shot meter and/or look at the shooting form.

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Don't show the fill, but use the meter to show timing feedback after shot release.
But as mentioned by others, the glitched shot forms need to be fixed. The ones where it's nearly impossible to get green, as well as the ones where you can get green effortlessly (LD2K, Kobe, etc).Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I voted other. I would like to keep the meter in, but with some adjustments. From how I understand the meter works, the closer you are to the marker on your release, the more likely your will go in. I feel like this is not always the case. There are times where I'll release the shot button with the meter literally a hair too early or too late from being a perfect release, and the shot will be off. Then if I take another shot and I release it too early, it'll go in swish.
This happens a lot to me while playing with Steph Curry. There are times where I get him wide open from three and release the shot a hair too early and I miss. But then when I shoot a contested mid-range jumper and it's too early, they more frequently go in.
This is the only problem I have with the meter.#HeatNation

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
The shot meter would be fine if it actually was dynamic in keeping with a player's stats. For example, a player with a 95 mid rating should have a much wider white line than they do, because it's difficult to get a perfect release. I know the intention wasn't to make them easy to get but it shouldn't be so difficult.

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I voted to leave it, as long as the options remain to do real % and change the displays as the user chooses.
To me the meter is separate from the shot release and timing issues that make some releases effectively sabotage the player ratings. Those are animation and "game stitching issues," or at least that what they seem to be to me.
Some animations take so long to complete that it's impossible to take a wide open shot before it gets contested. Other animations just seem to have a very tight or much more difficult "green" tolerance window.
Some slider guys have said that game speed affects shot success for different animations, with some animations working better at speed 50, or 55, or 45, or whatever. I hope the devs can look into this and make it so that shot animation timing yeilds success consistent with rating across game speed slider settings.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I don't really like the shot meter because I actually like to see the form of the people I shoot with and a very simple thing I'd like to see implented is: For those who have the meter off and have the shot timing feedback on, it will be great if the feedback had more responses than 3 which are: excellent, slightly early, and very late. The margin is way to big for slightly early and you have no idea if it was close to being perfect or not so its hard to practice. I'd like to see almost "almost excellent" as a target because obviously, its impossible to get "excellent" all the time.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
The reason I like the concept of timing a shot is because some players have horrible ugly shots while others have smooth ones and its cool to be like "wow that release is nice" but this is impossible with the shot meter. Maybe have an option for the shot meter to appear only after releasing the shot stick.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Just the mere fact that a poll is being taken about this feature says one thing again....2K you need to turn your attention to the issues with the game and stop trying add features until the ones you currently have in the game work without any problems.
The shot meter was a new feature this year, but it was also the 4th year in a row that you guys tinkered with how you perform shots or how you shoot in the game. You continue to do this every year and every year more people get frustrated with the game because they spent the previous year getting use to the controls. In 2K12 you could perform a variety of shots, probably the most ever in a game, and 3 years later they've been cut in half.
Either commit yourselves to ONE complete control mode on shooting or turn it over to the community and give the community 2 ways that are completely workable and let the community vote and set a deadline and which ever way has the most votes then you implement that into the game, but stop with the yearly overhaul.
This thread and this poll basically is your way of saying now instead of six months from now that you (a) still haven't fully finished with the shooting controls or (b) have found a reason why it needs to be tinkered or completely overhauled yet again.
I know that when you have something close to perfection in a way you wonder if there is something you can do to get it closer, but that doesn't mean that you have to.
Put your focus on something that needs to be fixed and addressed with more attention on 2K16 and I'm sure many will agree with me that should be the SERVERS!!!Eaglerock562

Keep the shot meter but get rid of shot fatigue.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Shot fatigue is one of my favorite features in this game. No reason to get rid of it. In previous games you could jump into a quick match and get 70+ points with someone like Jeremy Lamb. Shot fatigue gets rid of that.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I say scrap it. The cheese is strong with this one. It was a good idea but the unintended result is someone just gotta find a cheesy quick shot and basically you get a sliver of an opening and it's an excellent shot and release. It's like Steph Curry on steroids taking that pill in the movie Limitless. I think shots that take into account shot quality waaaaay more than shot timing is the best route. I believe it was 2K8 that had this down pat. It really is a balancing act though with no easy answer.
At the end of the day, I want to make open and shots and miss contested shots most of the time with a decent shooter. Shot Timing on the other hand, as we've seen, can be manipulated easily just by getting a "money jump shot". So basically I think the emphasis should be huge on shot quality rather than shot timing. That's still giving the user "control" of the outcome because the onus still is on the user to find and earn quality looks -- just like in real basketball. And, it also means SMART and SIM players will be rewarded (as they should), because they are usually better than noobs at using all the tools in the game to achieve open and quality shots.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Just go back to how the old 2Ks used to be. That being the meter and the way perfect release, slightly early, slightly late and etc is setup. I liked knowing I was hitting the release but it'll still miss sometimes. Unrealistic to me knowing a shot is automatically going in when I hit the write release point.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!
