Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I voted to keep it....its a much more satisfying feedback than letter grading to see how made shots probability gets calculated on the fly as good defense or position decreases or increases it.....
IMO it needs to spread across all shots...and i do mean All Beluba(thanks for adding to FT with patch...job well done)
- Runners
- Floaters
- Post shots
- Alley hoops.....yes two button presses one for the pass and another with meter for finishing....could reduce the cheese, giving user more control and feedback....(well of course with the option to turn it off
And i know you were experimenting with releases on layups and dunks i say add the meter to those two with releases as an option to real % and manual as well....(quick vs power finishes would have variable button press durations) would make shoulder buttons LB/L1 plus right stick direction be layup options and RB/R2 plus right stick direction be jumpshots with the shoulder buttons presses to initiate and stop the meter)
would be great to see the feed back of an in traffic dunk with the meter showing the window as defense is impacting it..........
this of course would be best if we had separate shoot button and layup/dunk button(something you also was experimenting with)
But if a modification such as: instead of having perfect releases always be in the middle i think it should be offset for some shooters on either side....eg Steph curry shot release is quick... shouldn't his perfect release be more to the left to represent that over speeding up the meter speed?
why i ask is because it would balance off when compared to his floater; if a shot meter would be added, that has a longer release so should have a perfect timing more to the right of the bar???
It would represent a better indicator of shot type variations over speed of meter for each player...
(Just My opinions am not saying this is how it should be but just brainstorming cause at times its these very same things that sparks innovations)Last edited by kolanji; 01-16-2015, 08:27 AM.Humans fear what they dont understand, hate what they cant concur i guess its just the theory of manComment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Is it just me or do anyone else think you shouldn't be able to get excellent releases on contested shots? Ofc they should still be able to go in, but u shouldn't be able to get a excellent shot, i've had times where i've been shooting perfect releases with 2 hands in my face. Also just how shooting works for me atleast i feel like its almost easier to hit contested shots then it is to hit open shots. When i make a effort to create a good look its actually really hard to make it, but then when i throw up stupid shots they some how go in.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
If guys put it back to 2k14 where it seemed smoother to shoot online then offline then I would love it becuase this game reminds me of 2k12 where online had delay n offline shots where smoother, to me 2k14 was a perfect balance who cares about making shots on excellent A+ not every shot should go in anywayComment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Beluba,
I actually like the feedback system of the shotmeter I just don't like how some of the shots are glitched. First I actually think you need to collect the feedback from some people that play alot of myplayer or people that like to cheese or shoot with only one player with a "easy" release shooter and get some feedback on how many "greens'" they get. I play a lot of vs. NBA today matches. I can only usually get like 5 greens sometimes up to 10 in a 12 minute game SS Sim. Someone else maybe able to exploit perfects by shooting with only one guy more which is why I think perfect release may need a cap
Option A.- Please fix the glitched "perfect" releases for the players the shots are glitched on Superstar and a higher amount are glitched on HOF
- I actually think the success of the shot meter should be modified some. The perfect release should exist but I don't think it should equal 100% success. I think it should top out at maybe 30% above your rating. This assumes you keep everything the same. I feel this shouldn't be able to be cheesed either way and you will still wouldn't know whether it was going in till it is released. I don't play myplayer but in my regular 12 minute games I don't see how it can be cheesed
- You probably need another notifier that signals shot quality. So you should only only get a flashing green if your release was perfect and your shot quality was great or you had a deadeye badge that counters the defense.

2K16 Shot Meter
Yeah, to switch it up a little. I don't think I have a big problem with the shot meter except some shots being glitched. My thing is just that perfect releases should not always goes in and should be easier to hit like past 2Ks. That's more where my issues lie.Last edited by Jrocc23; 01-16-2015, 08:30 PM.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I wouldn't mind that you couldn't cheese that anyway. It is kind of weird to me to see perfect releases =99% going in. I don't get that many per game though so it is not a problem.Comment

Ok you want it like before 2K14 green release means good but no perfect money release?

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I can't for the life of me figure out why they made it this way in the first place. I love the fact that KNOWING the release helps because it forces people to learn the team (I play with the Bulls and would get run out of the gym with another team), but nothing should be automatic. Keep the meter.
I do think you may be able to make certain players outperform their numbers by guaranteeing perfect releases equals 99% success. That is why I said it probably should be less than 99% success rate. So even if you had the releases down you have to be capped somewhere.Comment

Yes. I believe it should be like it was in the past. It's so unrealistic, for example, playing MyPark with friends and they hit a green release and them just knowing it's going in and soon as it release their hands. Saying stuff like "Finally hit a shot" when the ball is just being released. I feel like nobody should 99.9% know a shot is good soon as it leaves their hand.
So, I don't think I have a big issue with the meter. I think I could careless if it's there or not.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Scrap it. There was nothing wrong with it in previous iterations. Don't fix what ain't broken or it'll need to be fixed, like it now does.
My biggest problem with it is how arcade(y) it comes off. As a gamer, your eyes are instantly drawn to that meter. It takes away from a lot of the other beautiful aesthetics of the game, and for the guys who's jumpshots are spot on, you don't even see them.
I'm selfish I guess, but one of my favorite things about 2k was the shot system. Now, there's this new meter. It's confusing and agitating. It doesn't make sense to me how you can technically release the stick/button perfectly, but it's not a perfect release. I miss the old days of perfect releases and not all of them going in. Mastering a jumpshot is silly now. The meter is inconsistent, looks silly, and takes away from the game.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Definitely a fan of the current implementation of the meter. Maybe a few small tweaks here in there (in regards to how each shoot works or doesn't work with the meter).Comment
