Get rid of it completely. The 2k14 shooting mechanic was just fine, minus the airballs on perfect releases. Otherwise, 2k13/2k14's shooting mechanics are the way to go. That also gets rid of the easier jumpers that allow for the shot meter to be mastered.

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I say leave it alone. If people have a problem with it there is an option where you can turn it offComment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
That does nothing to curb the fact that the excellent release can be mastered on some releases, which results in the crap that we've been dealing with since patch 4. Unless you want to go through another year of people consistently splashing on 2-4 defenders because they mastered the timing on certain jumpers.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
People want to play 5 games a day but tell them to get into practice mode and learn a shot form and they wanna debate. Enough with the hand holding. 2k15 already ruined with 100% make shots that go in regardless of ratings. Shot meter should have no effect on make/miss thats all ratings based
Keep the shot meter but REMOVE the 100% makes on green releases. Ratings and release should be the only determining factor for success.
Green = you got the timing right and you have a high CHANCE of making the shot depending on player ratings.
Do not ruin 2k16 with 100% success . Ratings should always matterLast edited by thedream2k16; 06-07-2015, 12:50 PM.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I don't like this... FGA in reality is heaviliy depending on the role, the player is having in real life. Now think of you building your own team. Someone who is the 12th man on a roster maybe is your 6th man or something like that. He has a much bigger role on your roster than he has in reality. You think it should not be possible to do that because the player doesn't play in real life?
Or think about a player developing in your association. Maybe a benchwarmer develops in a pretty solide starter with high 70/low 80 ovr? You should not take many shots with him because in reality he doesn't do so?
I don't like this shot fatigue at all...
This shot fatigue mechanic was a bad idea from the start.
The only "shot fatigue" that should be in the game is when you're player is actually fatigued and all his ratings drop to the point where he can't make any shots.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Turning off the meter doesn't affect the mechanics, it only removes the visual of the shot meter.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
When we were playing 2k14 we complained that we missed A+ shots because they were actually great shots! Now they made it so no matter how terrible the shot is, if you release it perfectly it will be an "A+" and go straight in. What they shoulda done was make it so we get rewarded for getting open shots with less regard for timingComment

A+ is shot quality . in 2k14 that didn't take into account individual ratings. People complained without taking into account the guy they shot with had a 67 midrange rating. They see the A+ shot quality and think it should always go in regardless of his rating . to many casuals have to loud a voice in shaping the future of this game.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
The shot meter is soo cheesy. It's literally the backbone of this game. You're not playing against the other guy, or the other team, you're playing against your own button-pressing consistency. If you get enough space, you might as well picture yourself in the practice gym shooting greens, and it's easy as ****. Don't believe me, I'll show youComment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Shot meter is broke. I rarely use it anyway unless I'm trying out a new jump shot. It needs to be fixed or taken out the game completely though. I disagree with green releases not going in. We seen this issue in 2k14 and hella people complained about it.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
The reward is a open shot. There should be no magical ratings boost reward for taking a open shot.

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I'm pretty sure that the individual attributes are accounted for when they show you the shot ratings. If I take a open midrange shot with a person who's Midrange is on 30 its going to be an low letter grade regardless of how great the shot actually was. You can't just get an A+ with any basketball player, they actually have to be a competent shooterComment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
That's what I initially thought as well. But its more like good shot selection for that specific person. Obviously in basketball a wide open corner three is a good shot, but if DeAndre Jordan takes that shot than the defense has nothing to complain about. The shot quality is the quality of a shot, for that person. It ranges differently for different playersComment
