Please don't take away the shot meter. Having a visual representation of your release is so much better than seeing "Early, Late" or having no feedback at all. I'm not trying to guess when shooting with a guy. The meter works fine. Leave it alone.

Take away the 100% make green releases though. Its never a "guess" when you know the team you are using . can't have everything handed to you lol

True, but that's gonna keep people itching bey about missing green shots.
the reality is no one in the league shoots 100% anyway, so maybe if there is a way to keep it and make the shooting mechanics of the game all be relative to
each other. ex: a players shooting%, contested, uncontested, timing of shot stick, hot spots and hot spot%, spot up, off the dribble, etc. That's how I feel all the mechanics in sports games should be broken down from offense to defense.

That's the main issue IMO. People equate green with "make" and red with "miss" without any regard for hot/cold spots, individual ratings or defensive pressure.

The competitions game has shooting correct. 2k should remove visual ques that say when to release or only make that stuff accessible in practice mode

The people that complained about missing A+ shots need to get over it. A+ should only mean that you set yourself up as best as possible to get a great shot, and you released it at the peak of the shot. From there, ratings should take over, based on the shot's quality, not some arcadey mechanic that rewards you with an unrealistic shooting percentage thy states 'green = make 99.9% of the time!'

The ONLY thing wrong with 2k14's shooting mechanic was the fact that you airballed quite a bit on great looks, even with elite shooters with an A+ grade.

Exactly Caelumfang. This is all I mean. As far as the rec goes, I know it's cheesier than grandma's mac n' cheese so I'm not gonna even waste my time. Especially with all those wtfit? videos circulating on youtube.

Which is EXACTLY what got us here in the first place. And if it wasn't for NBA Delete, no one would have even asked for "skill based shooting" - which I thought was a ****ty idea from the start. There's NO WAY you can manage and balance a game when left 100% to some idiot savants skills at timing meters.

Since I use real FG%, I feel how you feel about skill based shooting, but there has always been a large percentage of players who are absolutely fanatical about User stick stills being the primary cause of success or failure. I can't put a percentage on it, but I would say that this applies to the overwhelming majority of online players. Look at the thread about people wanting simply contextual dribble moves to be skill based.

Since this isn't going away, the team just has to try and continue to balance it, being sure to tune out any and all auto success and auto failure components in the game. With the talent and basketball minds they have on the team, it surprises me that this has proven to be so difficult for them to work out.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I just think it's a vocal minority of those asking for this ridiculous stuff. I'd like to think that the vast majority of people have common sense. Otherwise, it's not truly "common sense".

That's one hell of an extrapolation there. Cheesers will cheese regardless of the interface. The meter has nothing to do with it. If there was no meter at all, they would still do it.

Cheesers were doing that since 2K13, before the shot meter was introduced.
