Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
When I first started playing 2k back in 2008, one of the first things that struck me was how cool it was that there was no shot meter.
Made the whole experience feel less "gamey" and much more immersive. I think this was a mis-step and I hope it goes away and never comes back.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
i think when people say they want the meter off, they dont mean it literally. they mean it where the meter has no say in the gameplay AT ALL. when you turn the meter off. you are still at the mercy of it but now the only problem is, you cant see it.
like i didnt have a problem with the old shooting system. i think my only complaint was missing A/excellent shots to only have the guy im facing make D and late shots..... but this game and its ******** meter makes me really miss the system.cause the game has gotten WORSE.
this game needs a UPDATE and fast cause im losing my patience playing this game now. shooting free throws is the most BS thing ever since the update cause of the meter. if the meter has a huge role in 2k16, i will probably be skipping it next year. since 2k has a tendency to make things worse instead of better most of the timeComment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I preferred the old feedback system. Just not the high%Student of the game. #Fundamentals

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I think is useful but if it works fine, and many times not work because the lag.
Also, I prefer that the perfect release not shows immediately, because you know you score before the ball enters (Curry style), but I prefer more emotionComment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
This is a good point. If I'm playing online Park/ Rec and I know I got a Green release, I call it out so my teammates don't accidentally get offensive interference attempting to rebound.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I think the shot release is crucial.
On My Team they release multiple different versions of players. Onyx Kobe's shot is much different from EVERY OTHER Kobe on the game. Everyone that didnt use shot meter thought the shot was broken and couldnt catch the release. People that used it and practiced it, got the shot down. Same for slower jumpers like Oscar Robertson. It's needed for sure.
Other than this, I think a clear window needs to be defined. As with many here, I've landed on the white line and not made the shot so much it's ridiculous. it seems to me that the closer to the white line, the closer you are to making the shot. why else have a line there that indicates the optimal release? I've made shots that fall quite short of the white line way more often than i have shots that are right on the white line. Just seems counter-intuitive.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I can't believe there are a lot of votes for people to keep it in the game. I am fine with keeping it in the game just give us the option to use the old style shot meter from 2K14 where green didn't always mean it would go in.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
There's an even split between removing it and keeping it in the game. That's absolutely hilarious.
Is Beluba still reading this thread lol? I don't mind the shot meter but I just can't support having every perfect release shot go in.
I saw it mentioned on this forum before but I believe that perfect releases should just be based on your normal shooting ratings and slightly early/late should reduce them.
Perfect release - Normal shooting rating
Slightly Early/Late - Reduce 3 point ratings by about 3-5 points
Very Early/Late- Reduce 3 point rating by 10-15 points
I also think great shooters like Step Curry/Kyle Korver should suffer a greater penalty for slightly early/late releases than say a decent shooter like an Iman Shumpert.Comment
