Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I'd say make it so the line on the meter itself doesn't appear until after the shot goes up just so you can see how much you were off by. As it is now, people are confused and using that line to time their shot rather than looking at the animation's best release point and wether their shot is contested or not. Then there are the RARE few that have the sick reflexes needeed to actually time the shot through that line. By keeping the same graphic but making the line appear after the shot is released you get the same feedback and you have to master the animation and not the line. Mastering the animation is so far the best system for simulation mastering the shooting mechanics and form of shooting in real life.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Yes, but that is misleading because wether the shot is contested, the difficulty you are playing on, hot zones and attributes influence how precise you have to be to get a green release.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Hmmm so you're saying even if you get the timing down pact it won't always get a green release.
I always had a theory that's how it worked. I used to be able to drain midrangers with Aldridge consistently so I knew his shot off the back of my head but when I would try to take him out to the 3 point line I could never get a green release.
SO basically the bigger the blue bar in the shot meter the higher chance you have of getting a green release?Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
I'm fine with the shot meter. The green releases kinda simulate when shooters let it go and it feels good coming out of their hands. Love it.
I'd ask for three things:
1. Completely get rid of broken shots like Korver. Even playing field. Certain guys shouldn't be trash for no reason. It's one thing for a release to be difficult to master but some of these have NO leeway are impossible. Almost breaks the game.
2. More feedback. If timing isn't the only factor for a green release - please tell us what else is being taken into account. Fatigue? Defense? Movement? Off the dribble? Not good enough shooter? More feedback is always good. Just give us the option to turn it off and on.
3. I'd love it if you could turn the meter off but have it pop up as feedback after the shot. I hate seeing the meter filling up as I'm trying to shoot. Very distracting. Hard to even focus on the players animation.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Online for me atleast white line isn't excellent release, i dont even know where i hit to get excellent release, it just lights up. The thing i hate about the meter is that its broken, so many games where i've missed 5 open shots in a row hitting the white line.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
After more time with the game, I think I've settled on the opinion that they should leave the shot meter in, but make green releases impossible while being contested. Not just more difficult ... impossible. I still like the idea of green releases always going in, but they should only be possible when you perfectly time a wide open shot. This would help with some of those guys who have "money" shot animations. It would put more of an emphasis on a player's shot ratings without having to remove the green releases entirely from the game.
As long as you're playing good defense, shot timing will just be a small part of the overall formula that decides whether the ball goes in or not. No more watching guys with a 65 rating drop 20+ on you because they have an easy shot to master. Sure, there's still the opportunity for some guys to shoot better than they should strictly because of their shot animation; however, if you're leaving an NBA player wide open, I don't think you should be surprised if you get lit up.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Rather they go back to the 2k14 flashes under your player when to release I don't get what the problem with that was. Don't fix what isn't broke. Shot meter is completely broken and online there's extreme input lag. Never had any issues last year.Last edited by FOXHOUNDxBigBoss; 03-05-2015, 08:36 PM.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Exactly people keep saying it was the same thing last year. No way, i had no problems in 2k14, and atleast my experience in park in 2k14 was good.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Care to volunteer up some easy ones? I've tried at least 20 shots with a maxed out shooter, and despite constantly battering that white line, I can't get a percentage over about 30, and I think that's artificially boosted by me dropping it down to rookie for 5 games to get limitless range and corner specialist badges.Comment

Re: 2K16 Shot Meter
Just remove it. I prefer the old one much, much better. Never really had a problem with the old system, so...
On that note, forms should really be changed. The release point should always be when the ball leaves the player's hand. Right now it's all over the place.Comment
