Re: How do i get past CPU?

Well I'm man enough to admit I was wrong. After spending time in blacktop and working out that "hitch" it's easier to blow by your man. Mixing up regular dribble moves and size up moves allows you to get the defender off balance.

My initial problem was thinking that 2k16's dribble controls were identical to 2k15's. They are very close but still differ somewhat. I pride myself on being very good on the sticks so you can understand my initial frustration.

That doesn't mean it's perfect however. There is some minor sliding on defense by the CPU which 2k said would still be there. It's reaction time is also instantaneous but I expect that since it is the computer. However, there is a hand checking animation in the game. This is fine if you're playing as historic teams before the rule is implemented but today it would clearly be a foul.

Taking the tips here, being patient, and being smart I was finally able to beat the CPU off the bounce, sometimes, it just not there. Reset and swing the ball. I was able to get to the rim within in the flow of the offense. I know before I was just trying to "bull my way" to the basket. That simply won't work and it shouldn't.

I suspect some guys are spamming Turbo and the iso stick and are stuck in mud, I know I was.

The easiest way for Iso is to leave the left stick alone use the right stick to do the iso and eventually turbo the direction your driving to. this still doesnt work great and it does some unnecessary spins.. I noticed best way is to use triple threat to make your drive. I also switched pro stick to dribble only because its hard to dribble /shoot when the game doesn't recognize what your trying to do. also the dunking with pro sticks mostly becomes two handed dunks... using squre button at least gives me more variety.

            Preach man!

Tagging along with what one of the posters said, DRIBBLING IS DIFFERENT THIS YEAR. Sorry for all caps but if you are trying the same techniques as last year, you will fail.

Dribbling is still effective and you are still able to blow by opponents. I can, BUT I dedicated probably 10 hours of gaming to 2k16 this weekend.

Dedicate sometime before 2K comes out with a patch and we really have something to complain about. Patch this, patch that. Back in my day...

I was having a hard time scoring and getting past the defender but I can honestly say that it does get easier, at least for me. In every 2K I have a little problem in which I have to adjust to learn how to score. My last game on Superstar was 28 PT, 14 Rebs, 11 Assist in 8 Minutes per quarter. First triple double of my career lol, so don't think I be having those stats like that every game.

Can you give me any tips on how to get rid of the "hitch"? A lot of times I'll get a defender to bite on hesitation to the left, and when I try to blow by left my guy takes these short choppy stutter steps and then the defense recovers. No sure what I'm doing wrong.

Guys that are successfully "exploding"/"launching" out of size ups what's the best technique? When should I tap turbo vs hold turbo?

What camera do you guys play on? I'm a broadcast guy even though 2k cam is probably easier.

I think the 2K Cam is better overall for the moves and determining how much separation you have to the left or right of the defender. I play on the Broadcast cam, but it seems like I always play from the "bottom" of the screen. What's crazy is that my plays end up on the bottom.

Same. I like broadcast cam bc it looks like games on tv. But last year I was able to learn how to get by people in 2k cam and translate that into broadcast cam and I was able to play on the top bottom and middle of the screen with no problem at all.

Go into practice. Do a size up but make sure once the size up starts your not pushing anything especially the turbo. Then when your ready to explode, use the turbo and lstck to your desired direction.

If the ball handler is doing choppy stutter steps, it means you're driving too shallow (too much "into" the onball defender) or you're just too crowded. Make sure you have at least an arm's length of space before attacking and/or try taking a slightly wider angle on your drive.

Beluba- Could you and your team put together a video showcasing how to execute a move and explode out of it?

I can occasionally "explode" out of a move, but it seems very inconsistent.

It feels great when my player (curry) does explode towards the basket, but I'd like to feel in more control of that explosion.

                          Thanks!

Please do this. We don't need anything crazy just a 30 second video, maybe talk about timing.

this is just something that needs a fix pronto

I'm much more than an arm lengths of space and am just traveling in the natural line that it sling shots you into whenever it wants to give you a great spin move animation....

it is pretty ridiculous to have this happening....there is no way it went unnoticed

another thing that they need to take out of the game is when players pull up for a set jumper 4 feet from the basket....it's such an off putting animation

they look like they are heaving up a 25 foot 3 point attempt when they should be shooting a lay up...animation has been occurring for years unchanged....it is not very fun to finally blow by your defender, as difficult as it is this year, only to have a slow jump shot animation when you are next to the basket....then it's rated a D- shot attempt because the defender you already smoked sprints into your back

The sizeup speed launch advice is amazing and has done wonders for me..The only problem is the launch is VERY VERY VERY specific and you can't launch out of a sizeup when you want to.

It HAS to be a very specific point in the animation..If you move the stick too early in the size up, it will be sluggish..If you move the stick too late in the size up,it will be sluggish.

Also you must start the size up with turbo..Then let go of turbo after the animation starts..Then hold turbo and try to blast out the size up.

By the way, don't bother trying to getting past a defender by using hesitations,it never works and your defender will always warp up close and stop your momentum. (Ridiculous...)
