You got to pay attention to where the D is facing and how far back they are. If they are gapping you, that creates a pull up J chance. It doesnt matter if its Kaman IRL, if a defender gives you 3-5 feet its hard to dribble past them with anyone.

Take a look at this vid. Dirk is shading me one way. If I drive that way I hit the middle of his chest, cue bump back animation. But I go the other way, which triggers this ride the hip animation and I get by.

p.s. this new animation is awesome. Best addition to the game nearly. It's no longer blow by/get stopped.

Re: How do i get past CPU?

Really wish I could post vids of what has been happening in this game.

I get my guard in the corner and call for a ball screen. The defender slides WAY over (More than just a regular ICE it seems), essentially giving me the baseline drive. So I say okay. Ill take it. I jab towards the screen and drive away from it. What happens? The defender bumps me out of the way, sometimes out of bounds. Happens every single time. I legitimately have a WIDE open path to the basket. If people can't see that this is broken then I don't know what will ever be fixed.

The positioning of the defense is irrelevant to the problem. If the defense is giving you the drive, you're not going to get it because they will either bump you off of your path or an animation will suck them back to being in front of you. There's very clearlya problem here.

Yes the defense is better but it's WAY too sticky. If I clearly beat a defender I should not get sucked into an animation or get bumped off my line to the basket. It's extremely annoying.

There is nothing wrong with the CPU on-ball. You guys just need to get better. Here are some of my videos below. Look at the defender's feet and position then attack accordingly. This is on Superstar difficulty against Paul George, one of the best defenders in the game.

              I blow by him clean.

See this is nice! No hitch animation....

Like in past games is turbo the culprit for triggering the bumping animations? Just turbo once you're really passed the defender?

It doesn't seem blacktop plays quite the same way as fall games. With Curry I can consistently get a defender like Kyrie to move back and freeze with his backwards size up and can the open 3. This doesn't happen nearly as often in actual 5 vs 5 play against another average defender. Unless Kyrie's defense is rated that poorly.

Actually I think I just timed it at the right moment...Through that whole process I pressed turbo twice...once with the right analog stick to activate the sizeup animation..once it started I released turbo and then pressed and held it again (this wont intefere with the sizeup animation) and any time the ball lands in the hand of the direction I wanna go I just flick the left stick that way (while im still holding turbo) Its gotta be a timing issue I think that can make the whole process activate without hitching through animations

I've always used camera relative but with the recent issues, I feel I need to switch. What do you guys think? I can't seem to explode off of hesi or crossovers.

Glad to see I'm not the only one having the issue with dribbling and getting past defenders.
I use absolute for the pro stick. It's easier than relative, because sometimes I take shot types that I didn't want.

Another tip to everyone....don't forget that you can end your drive on a hopstep or spin move. Very underrated move.
