Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread

Anyone know how to explode out of the dribble? I call an isolation when I get the mismatches I like but I just can't get past the CPU. I had Crawford guarding Westbrook but I was unable to take advantave of that. Signature sizeups are cool but i'm having so much trouble exploding out of them. How do you get them to burst to the rim out of a size up move?

This thread talks about how to use screens. Might help.

Can anyone explain to me what Pre-Rotate actually does? I just noticed it last night in a game, but haven't had time to mess with it yet today
I used to put important things here

Do they really NEVER box anybody out? If that were the case, you would lose every game, and the opposing team would score on every possession.

Now - they may be getting more offensive boards than you like, I get that. But remember, too, that teams DO get offensive boards. The average is about 11 a game. Or about 1/3 of the time. So - if you're opponent is getting offensive boards on about a 1/3 of their shots, that's not unrealistic.

What I like to do it be the Center and use L2 to box out my guy, and I've found I can corral the rebound more often than not, that way. The other opposing players sneak in occasionally still a couple/few times a game and snag some, but that's legit. It happens.

Anticipation is your best weapon. However, if I see the screen coming, I let go of the intense-D when I'm going over the screen, and keep it pressed when I'm going under the screen.

I'm not sure but the lighter you press you're able to move a little quicker laterally staying in a defensive stance. Holding down LT fully I find the player movement slower. It takes some discipline trying not to fully press the button....

Let me know what you guys think and try feathering the LT button.
Even though this is in the manual, without a video showing the benefits of doing so, I chose to ignore it. Last night in desperation after not being able to guard anyone at all on the perimeter, I started doing this. It instantaneously revolutionized my defense.

Fully pressing the LT down, unless you're crowding a guy, is a death sentence.

When you feather the LT, you can TOTALLY control your guy on D, it's flipping awesome. The computer can still score on me if they have a favorable match up, but now they are working much harder for their points instead of just waltzing to rim on me.

I give this the highest recommendation.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Wow, I've been getting torched on perimeter D. I never realized that this was the reason. Thanks for the tip.

How do I call for a double screen?? Last year you could press the screen button and then hold down both icons of the players you wanted to set the double screen?
