Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread

Was hoping for some sort of shot meter on jump hooks, but unless I'm blind looks like there isn't any feedback on the shot this year.

What's the proper release point? Is timing markedly different depending on form/animation, or is there something in general to look for...when it leaves the guy's fingers, right before, something else?

Haven't looked at the ratings, but there was a post hook attribute last year I believe and going back a few games, so I'm guessing that's still in. What does it affect? Open/moderately contested success rate? Fully contested success rate? Range, or is this entirely dependent on hot spots/shot charts? I ask this because I'm having less success going baseline for that shot than covering over the middle.

This IS that thread my man!

        Try this:

        - Go into Coach Setting, and make all play diagrams visible, not just for User, but ALL.

        - Go back to game.

        - Bring the ball comfortably across court.

        - Hit L1, then the appropriate symbol for who the play is for. Let's go with SQUARE.

        - Then move the right stick to select the play.

        - Move your guy to the circle on the floor

        - Then simply follow the lines on the floor (the dashes mean pass)

It takes practice to learn the plays and anticipate them, and learn the best options out of them. That's the fun of the game. Learn your team's players + learn your teams playbook = PROFIT

Another option is to basically let the CPU basically call the plays.

          - Go into Coach Setting, and make all play diagrams visible, not just for User, but ALL.

          - Go back to game.

          - Bring the ball comfortably across court.

          - Wait for a symbol to appear, and then simply follow the lines on the floor (the dashes mean pass)

Is there anyway to use custom playbooks online, if so how?

It's in my last post. Left stick away from the rim and then tap square.

It depends on your defender and your rating. But when it comes to player x vs player z. You can contest shots. So if a player gets a good contest on a hook shot. The percentage goes down. Because the only time I miss hook shots. It's because of 2 things. The defense was really good or I took a hook shoot with a poor hook shot rated player. But as you should if you got a mouse in the house. It's going down. No matter what happens.

Almost started a new thread for this, but realize this may be the best place to post.

Is the step-trough layup in the post in the game this year? If so, how does one do it?

Hold Right Stick toward hoop (while holding Left Stick toward

How can I layup full speed? Cuz every time I press R2 and shoot my player dunks the ball, Id like to see him make fast layups kinda drose 10/11 style, anyone? Is this even possible?

Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread

i don't really understand the logic of the CPU shot contest. Whenever a defender is beaten off the dribble and I think that I am open for a mid range jumper, it mostly results in them flying into my back and causing a bad shot grade.

                      Example: http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=1498...8#.VgxAt3qrSUl

Is there anyway to combat this? This also pretty much eliminates mid range shots off pick and rolls as well.

Also, is there anyway to get off L-stick step back mid range jumpers quick off the dribble? I almost always get a very slow animation that results in the jump shooter putting both his feet together and end up with a slow, awkward shot.

The direction of the RS doesn't determine anything. I haven't tried it, but I think you can also pull this off using the shot button + left stick.

How do I stop team mates switching when defending a pick and roll??

So.... I'm defending a guard who calls for a pick n roll, obviously I fight round the pick and stay with the guard.... Unfortunately my centre or PF following the 'picker' also follow the guard..... Leaving the picker unmarked and free to get to the basket.

If I follow him it's a huge size mismatch.

This is on MyTeam by the way. Is it an option I can select or do I just need players with better PnR Defense IQ??

Also need this answred. It doesn't matter if I go underneath or over top I always end up with a big guarding the guard I'm trying to cover.
