sorry i cant rem the original question but this is one of the many ways to run the pnr offense. the other way is to use various isomo or signature dribbling moves to blow past the defender. with the man screening, u get free from the "glue" defense more effectively.
i havent been doing the latter since patch 6. my 95 bulls roster dont have the kind of players to do those moves in the pnr offense.

Jofri- You are very knowledgeable about 2K, and as a relatively new player to this series I appreciate all the recommendations and guidance you've posted in this thread

I have a question regarding individual defensive settings. Do you set these up for every player before the game? If so, could you help me understand some of your defensive tactics?

I am primarily interested in how to set the on-ball and off-ball defense, as well how to defend pick and roll (over/under; how to hedge). Any insight on your defensive strategy would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, when you run an offense, do you run plays or just stick to a freelance offense? I play with the Warriors and am continuing to practice my offensive strategy.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!

no problem. i mostly play offline so some of the strategies may not work online. i created a thread some time ago on the defensive settings, i'll need some time to lcoate it.

generally, i applied my settings the same to all players - force baseline (2k advice to use that as the imaginery D), go over screen for off and on-ball D, NO hedge, and 3/4 front for post D. most impt of all, moderate for off and on-ball D. why? if play tight, my ai defender will lose track of their man and ended with a backdoor cut. if play loose, the great catch and shoot players like jr smith will rain their 3s. moderate allows me to, if i play offball, to close up the shooter manually faster and most impt of all - switching to my help defense faster too. and if i play onball, i can close up or back off (against non-shooter like rondo) easier too on the controls. i dont see a real need to set for each player. i will apply my own controls whether to play loose or closer up and moderate make this easier. some of the advices i received was to set auto. personally, i dont like it eg. when my ai defenders play deny offball on shooters and they tend to suck to the opponent. me switching to these defenders ended up a second late for help D.

i run a mixture of freelance and calling plays, and mainly the triangle. definitely going for plays if i desperately need a bucket. there are quite a few go-to plays in the triangle playbook worth using. i wont call it cheesy bcos the ai can defend against my tendency. rem, never run the same play more than 3 times in a roll.

Is it still possible, as in past year's editions, to move your inbounding player along the baseline after the opponent scores to find aa better passing lane?

          Can't find how anymore.

Jofri- Do you have any advice for driving to the basket? One thing that really bothers me about this game is all the bumping/warping that occurs when trying to drive to the basket. Like yourself, I do not play on-line, I am only referring to off-line against the CPU.

I am not a wizard in the sticks by any means, but it is challenging for me to drive by anyone and beat them clean to the basket (playing with the Warriors).

              Any advice?

driving to the basket is what makes the game fun to play. there're many ways to do that and as i usually run plays, most of the drives are done out of calling plays.

catch and drive : this is very, very effective. you'll see curry does that irl all the time. when he runs without ball off the screens like pin down and catches it at the perimeter, the defenders 90% of the time anticipate he will shoot the tray. instead, he drives to the paint and does his usual stuff i.e. floaters, runner, high arcing layup or kick out. i dont play the warriors, but i've applied the concept to my current 95 bulls MJ.

pick and roll (playbook) : i mentioned earlier there are a few ways to run the picks. here u can find using dribbling moves on the picks. note: the 2 videos were prior patch 6. the left stick dribble and the crossover to non-ball hand using left stick with turbo may not work now, i'm not sure.
                Russell Westbrook : https://youtu.be/YB57IeM0pes
                mix : https://youtu.be/QqKiwoIGiFQ

simple crossover through isolation plays : use the right stick flick to cross or trigger behind the back animation. or simply back dribble will do.
                James Harden : https://youtu.be/I0d4de-37qU

I am starting to use more plays with a "handoff". I understand you hold "B" and release to hand the ball off. However, if we decide to keep possession of the basketball, how do you cancel the handoff prompt after you've been holding the "B" button?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if there are any tips or advice for a smooth handoff, I'd appreciate that as well.

                          Thanks!

Evening fellas, anyine got advice on what sliders impact user screens. My AI teammates are either completely ignoring their screening assignments or setting such ineffective screens that they don't bother the AI defense. Even poor defenders are completely avoiding screens on nearly every play.
