Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
I am starting to use more plays with a "handoff". I understand you hold "B" and release to hand the ball off. However, if we decide to keep possession of the basketball, how do you cancel the handoff prompt after you've been holding the "B" button?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Also, if there are any tips or advice for a smooth handoff, I'd appreciate that as well.
Thanks!Comment

Can anyone tell me how to stop AI defenders to leave their man when the CPU is doing a pick and roll? It's so annoyingComment

Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
While you're holding B, press Y while keeping B held. You'll do a fake pass and cancel the handoff. Same applies to using Y to make a player cut (press B while keeping Y held to fake pass and cancel out of it). However, if you're running a set play under "Handoff," you don't have to use B. The player will come to you when he's supposed to during the play. You can just press A when he's close to you.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
cant do it 100%. the ai defense is so sensitive that once it detects a slight openning, help will come. u have to control the off ball defender to prevent the help action. if not, play on ball and make sure u go over with one step ahead.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
That's not necessarily true. If you have most players set to "Yes" for "Pre Rotate," and have the player you don't want to leave set to "No," and also put his pressure on "Smother" and "Deny," your defenders should stick to him off the ball and pretty much completely refuse to leave him.Comment

edit: I'm talking about the Pre Rotate.
edit2: I saw this in another thread and thought it should be posted here.

Re: NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
But this is what I'm talking about, moving the passer (from 2k12):

In 2k16 you can't select the inbound passer, unless I'm just missing how. But I can't get his icon to be active to select him while he's the baseline passer.Comment

I don't think we're talking about the same thing. What you are describing, which I do, is move the guy to receive the pass.
But this is what I'm talking about, moving the passer (from 2k12):
