Triangle guys if you haven't already, make sure that your strategy is actually set to Triangle & not Default (works with Motion Cuts or Freelance). This has solved most if not all of the issues I was having.

When someone double trams all game, switch your offense to 4-1 space the floor. When they bring the double, pass with the triangle (lob pass) and it will lob it over their heads to the open man.

How do you chance your overall offense sets in mygm? It's just set to default and I don't know how to change it, besides changing individual plays.

How do I beat the defense? Im trying to play on All Star like I did with last years game, but the defense sticks to me like glue, and bumps me anytime I try to get away so I cant go anywhere.
Also, pick and rolls, everything is horrible. Either I get bumped and locked in and cant go anywhere, or the screener doesnt touch my defender, or my guy just wont move in time to get through any little space that might have been made.

Alternate between pick and fades and pick and rolls to keep the defense working. Call floppys for 3 point shooters. Move the ball constantly, play to your offensive players strengths and don't keep repeating yourself. The computer actually keeps you on your toes. If all else fails, lower the on ball d slider a bit for the cpu. As the controls become second nature it will get easier. I'm still trying to learn and I've been playing since 2k12. The game is deep enough to make my head spin.

appreciated, but thats not what I mean. the defense isnt making proper decisions that are making it hard for me. They are pushing me or bumping me to the point it stops me dead and I cant go anywhere. I dont care how hard the d is or how much they catch on to the same things, if the guy is in front of me and I try to run to the right, he shouldnt be able to hit me so hard that my guy steps backwards and stops.
Also, for pick and rolls, the defense occasionally will do things that would never happen, like where the center runs out 3 feet passed the 3 point line while your center is coming to screen their guard, only their guard steps up too, so now you are trapped in a box because your own center is still standing in your way and wont move. I shouldnt have to wait 2 to 3 seconds for the whole P&R action to play out, even if it wont work on that play

Not sure as I haven't touched MyGM yet. I was talking about in game by hitting left on the D-pad, then R1 & changing it there......made a world of difference.

I've had defenders slow my movement to a halt after I blew by them by just limping to the side of me, I've also had defenders make me miss a layup by running behind me and jumping, nowhere near blocking me. 2k really wanted to cut back on how easy it was it iso players to the hoop, sometimes at the expense of reality as these gravitational pulls from defenders like Collison or kemba walker is a bitch. On the plus side, it's forcing me to try out plays and different styles of play. Something I never had to do in old 2ks, not even on hall of fame really.

yea i can usually get around it too, but it makes the game less fun and much less free flowing to have to stop and reset every time because the center pops out on a screen and glues you to his chest

For those wondering how to beat the AI defense and dont know how to use a pick i'll teach you, it's very easy. I'm playing on superstar sim with no defensive or box out assit, haven't touched any sliders and i beat easily the computer.

I'm guessing the shot quality stays above a B for the cpu shooting because my hands arent up; when the cpu does it to me with hands up my shot quality goes to C- and below.

there's a youtube tip on this, but thats for 2k15. i havent try it myself but i think it should work for 2k16. basically, set automatic shot contest to 'always' and move LS towards the shooter to close out, no need press RS.

                          see if it works.

I've seen this video before and used it in 2k15. It seems to work perfect when its user vs user. Using it last year for user vs cpu was bad though; it was the equivalent of letting your cpu teammates do the on ball defense and contest themselves (or maybe that just happened for me) which let to the opponent cpu making every contested teammate cpu shot. Just got home from work so gonna test it out in in scrimmage.

Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done. CPU subs have been mediocre at best for a while now, and the AI logic hasn't been touched for a few years. You can always play around with stamina/fatigue sliders but that's just going to create other problems without doing much to fix the subpar rotations.

                                Have a couple requests:

                                1) How do you perform an up and under while actually stepping through this year? I've practiced a decent amount but can't seem to do anything other than jumpers and fades, and I feel like I've tried all sorts of different timing.

                                2) How do you call for a specific player to set a screen? Tapping the pick button brings up play icons (except on PC where it's currently bugged ), so it's not that.

                                3) This is vague, but I've been having trouble staying in front of my man playing on ball so far. Any tips/tutorials would be greatly appreciated
