I've seen it happen on 2k15 and I know because I played it just today and it is the bane of my existence with their game. Always wants to make the user the only person to win the game which is fairly unrealistic in my opinion

Well let me just say as I said before. This a legacy issue that has gotten worst in which I believe is a bug than more of a stat purpose. I could be wrong but I sure hope not lol. For example in 2k15 the 2 players preprogrammed would not zone as long as they do in 2k16 plus weak side defenders leaving on wing and sinking deep into the paint causing 3 second violation didn't happen like in 16. Players would cheat just outside the paint like in real life but in 2k16 they just completely abandoned their player.

This has been in 2k for years now. It's not a coincidence nearly every game comes down to the wire.

Also nothing is more obvious than when you have an and 1 or 3 point foul that they never make all 3 free throws, even if it's Curry, they want to make you think you timed it wrong.

2k is all scripted. They move players out of ways on defense to key others back in, miss free throws, to get realistic percentages and close games.

It's gimmicky, it's embarrassing for a sports game, if you are better so be it..

I understand your frustration which is why I haven't started my league because I play 82 game 9-10 minutes qtrs with no simulated games. So I would be frustrated that I grinded through the bs to lose in the playoffs or fighting for a playoff spot only to lose because my teammate was paid off to let the team win or if I know I should have lost but didn't. So right now I am a casual player mainly playing play now and play now online exclusively . Hoping for them to at least clean it up so it is bearable for off line

Agree with you. It's the way 2K have to balance each match. You can see big men doing mid range fadeaways (ajinca, etc) AI getting more offensive rebounds or ball bouncing high on the rim and getting in.

In MyCareer I have defended key players to get 0 to 2 pts in the first quarter, then when I get subbed, these players have scored 15 to 20 points at the half time.

I'm about done with this cheesefested game. I quit for a few hours and come back with a clear mind and make sure defensive settings and POI our set. But the problems listed in this thread is killing the fun in this game. The CPU be straight cheesing with the teams and especially the GSW. They have Bogut hitting jumpers on me. Not only is the defense horrible in this game because of the PNR, transition defense, players falling over the place, and the horrible switches and the game has CPU players warping right through me just to get easy layups and cheap fouls. Players don't even close out on players but stop a few feet in front of them and let them get the jump shot.

Glad the 1 legged Dirk jump is out of the game, but players shooting jump shots right inside the paint is the new 1 legged jump shot. It looks stupid and unrealistic because players don't do that in real life. At that range you lay the ball up or put up a hook shot.

Normally I would be grinding many hours but the other issues make it worse when transition defense is flawed being that is 50-60% of basketball so when you have other issues that normally you would let slide you just can't because not only do you have to focus on defense you have to focus on your own team not screwing up big time. In 2k i feel my players are playing for the other team in which i have labeled the "1 vs 9" so I feel ya . I got Metal Gear Solid so I am good to go and hoping a patch will clean some of it up otherwise I will still play just not myleague or mycareer like I normally would just pick up and play with no real investment in the game.

Im in the same boat. I cant play head to head 1v1 anymore. Its a circus. Just get a rebound throw it up to the farthest player, even if u dont see him and score on the lackluster transition defense. Im relegated to playing park because i cant even play pro am cause it doesnt work.

DolfanDave I feel your pain man, I don't know how many times I have replayed these type off ball situations for my peeps to see. I just had accepted it like so many other really bad A.I. logic lately (teammate shooting fouls, offensive spacing). Even with so many problems, I feel this is the best sim game as a whole, and the only real bball option for me. I do wish that a few of these legacy issues would be looked at more. I see too many people worried about sneakers and headbands more than these issues.

I'm starting to think like others have mentioned, is that the game is too heavily scripted, the moving of our players to and away, the timing of these fouls/shots by the A.I. and the zone placement of our offensive and defensive players during transition. I'm not sure how much of this stuff can be changed, as I'm not a programmer or anything. I'm like you guys, I'm not complaining for the sake of complaining, only for the sake of discussion and possible solution. As I look now over these things more and more, regardless of game mode, it's starting to give me a strange feeling of is this even fun? I continue to enjoy certain game modes with my friends who no longer live near me, and I appreciate the game for the fact that I can do that. These scripted issues do hurt the overall enjoyment of most of the game though.

I respect your opinion. But for me when over half of what you do in a sports game don't work most of the time. I can't get into it in a sim way so to me as is this a casual game and that's how I play it.

I'm having a lot of issues with defending pick and roll. When your teammate comes over, he stays with the ball handler too long after a pick. The screener gets a clear path to the hoop.

I know what you are saying.You have to manual set your defensive settings based on player so for example the roll man change from auto to "go under" with a "soft hedge" for each player you feel necessary .The on ball defender you have to decide over or under based on the player. There should be no "auto" settings for on ball pick n roll you must manual setup based on team and user habits. So Tony Allen or Rondo you go under as they can't shoot. Kyle Korner u go over. Kyrie or Westbrook good luck lol

Edit: let me add that for special players like Kyrie or Westbrook it depends on the user. So if I see they like to drive rather than shoot then I go under force them to shoot. If they start shooting then I go over and then set poe to protect the paint. It's a chess match
