I'm so sick of hearing people bitch and complain that they shoot 60% from three instead of 70%

This is basketball folks. YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO SOME DUMB GREEN RELEASE JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE OPEN

It's been suggested several times - i definitely think this game won't make great progress that satisfies both sims and arcades anytime soon - they really should just make a kind of "choice" when you first join park/online - that you are forced to choose either to play with sim sliders - or arcade.

I just don't see how both parties will ever agree - obviously sim people have the more realistic bragging rights. But arcade people are usually the bigger party in size.

This would make it so decisions are decided by 2 different parties - towards 2 different playzones - therefore neither affecting the other. If you want to play arcade - go ahead. If you want to play sim - go ahead. Simple. I bet they would find better balance way sooner. And arcade peoples complaining wouldn't affect us sim people. Peace for all.

I really could give less fs - about making every shot - being the superstar of the team or some bs - trying to "prove myself" as the PARK GOAT DEMIGOD NERF ME. I just want to play sim ball alone -
and with my buddies - that's all. Is that really so hard 2k?. Especially the alone part.

Indeed that would be the bigger issue - if only they would just quit it with the whole annoying park visuals - i could care less. It's probably definitely what makes the game lag. If it would be press a button and go straight to the game it would probably be less laggy. Who knows.

But think about it - there are 3 parks / several events and pro am. If they would reduce all this somehow. It could work since it's less mumbo jumbo. Sacrifice the flashy for once for stability and longevity.

Yea i said that about 3pt'ers at the start of the post - it is unfair indeed. But i'm willing to sacrifice for a less annoying experience overall. If only they would refund the 3pt attributes to everyone - i don't see the problem. Just put them again if you want them - nothing game breaking.

So I just tried on my own practice court (HOF Difficulty) and I still green a lot of corner 3s, but like others said it's not as easy to do from the other parts of the court. The game isn't as forgiving now for shooting after you dribble, and you really have to have good rhythm and set feet before you do it to have a better release. I'm sure when playing with playmakers and all that badge junk (Catch and shoot, dimer, etc.) it makes things easier.

And I love it like this.

Awesome change, yet it will get reverted back due to whiny, unintelligent kids bitching on Twitter who have never watched a basketball game other than Steph Curry mixtapes on YouTube.

This is by FAR the best the game has played all year but because of crybaby children with face tattoo characters and xXKillahXx in their username it won't last.

Yep, and thats exactly why Ive never played online, because of the type of people you mentioned. Way too many play online that have no clue about how to play basketball, its seems to be that way with all sports games when you go online. Unfortunately at times there whining screws up the game for those of us who just play offline, and then we have to go back to trying to fixed the game with sliders. I wish the devs would quit listening to so many of the online players. Sure there are some that play online that understand the game, but too many have no clue, not sure they even have set down and watched a whole game before,lol. I hope I dont have to spend another chunk of time tryin to find the right spot for sliderss, now things have changed with shooting.

There's never going to be a single set of shooting sliders that pleases 100% of NBA 2K's customers.

If EA's Battlefield series can have "hardcore" mode and "casual" mode, then I don't see why NBA 2K can't do something similar.

This is how I would cater to both camps of players for NBA 2K18:

Pro Am Team Arena = realistic shooting sliders

Pro Am Walk On = casual shooting sliders

MyPark = casual shooting sliders

Play Now Online = Before the game starts, let the user pick whether he/she wants to play with realistic or casual shooting sliders, then have separate leaderboards and matchmaking for each shooting setting.

MyTeam Online No Roster Restrictions mode = casual shooting sliders

MyTeam Online Roster Salary Cap mode = realistic shooting sliders

I don't mind this tweak at all. Only SS can green those wing 3s now. Attribute matters more now and now we see more diversity on archetypes.

Played 1 Walk-on game with my Sharp

I went 2 for 5 from 3 which I'm OK with and a horrible clank in the corner. All whites with no greens and every miss was a red which indicates I'll have to refine my timing.

My teammate sharpshooter was cashing out from the corner 3 well over 60%. My teammate playmaker also managed to make a 3 from limitless on the wing not even off a Dimer pass. I saw 1 ridiculous 3 from the top go in off a tight contest with time expiring - it was from big using a non shooting build.

Overall, I'm OK with the adjustments needed. The meter feels different and ultimately it's tougher to time a green or 98% full white release but this is a gain I've been hoping for. I'm OK with non shooting builds making open 3s but it shouldn't become so easy that they become likened to shooting specialists. The timing should be difficult enough to discourage you from taking volume 3s but friendly enough to try your luck on occasion with of course little to no probability of greening with a rating below 70.

Is this offline and online? I haven't played online yet, but from offline, given the fact that they made post scoring (at least for me haha) a lot easier, I think an overnerf to 3 point shooting is unnecessary.

I think they should give some of it back because, for instance, on HoF I am winning games by about 20, getting 50 points easy, and the cpu is shooting about 40 or under percent.

As much as I love the 90s style of dump it in and let the big go to work, the NBA is not like that anymore. Inside scoring got so much easier, so if they over nerf 3s, they make it so that you will always, if you are smart, play inside out.

They need to make it so that a big w/ 60 rating and badges hits about 30% of a corner 3 on a catch and shoot. On catch and shoot in the corner, sharp shooters should be extremely wet, probably 60+%.

The shooting from spots isn't bothersome, it's people running around and jacking. I can't comment on what the catch and shoot percentage is, and I know people who are like "Man I keep getting D- on my shots and missing while I'm shooting good shots!" then they post a video and it's like wow, I'd never shoot a shot like that.

I just hope they don't revert the inside scoring. They need to balance the outside scoring against it.

It's reasonable to believe if you get a catch and shoot shot with a 70+ rated, badged player, you should make it at a good clip. You should never feel that you are second guessing yourself on an open shot in a video game. However, that's not the same as running around and pulling up from 40 feet for an all net green.

It's also reasonable to believe if I get the ball inside vs a sharpshooter who is 6'8... I can house him with my post scorer. Right now, you can fake and then go up for a hook, or do a lay up into someone without getting a contact animation (as long as you choose a side of the rim and don't just mash it into them.) That's game changing, and once people realize that and start to score inside normally, shooting will need to be adjusted, so it's best to adjust it now.

This is for those who say you cant make a three after the tweak. This guy on my team was bombing away. Its fine.

double post, he was also wide open in everything but the last one. You can't just let someone walk up to the line and fire that, even if they are a bit behind it. I am cool with people making those shots.

honestly think it should fit now with the % you said. but I guess 60 rating will still shoot about 45-50 from the corner now. Im cool with that as long its just the corner and 70% at least as it was.

Played some more park with my shotcreator and its fine for me. No greens from the top 3point but this will change tomorrow

Ugh, I really hope they aren't tuning it back to make it easier.

Green releases are the worst I wish we could take it out. I was playing a park game where this dude missed an open shot and started freaking out. "man I'm a SHARP SHOOTER! SHARP SHOOTERS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO MISS THAT BRUH!"

The dude was 3-4.

It's created a terrible culture.
