    So conflicted between a

    Defending-Defending
    Defending-Rebounding
    Defending-3pt

6'10/6'11 PF. Putting the 3pt in takes everything so far down, but I don't want to be that guy in Pro-Am that can just be left on an island. But even then, is it worth stretching the floor for a 70 3 ball?

      It can be.

I feel like I should wait with MyCareer until I can get a bit more feedback from people what is really important this year and how it worked out for them. How much speed is enough? Is speed boosting gone? How much 3pt shooting is needed. Can you dunk with 75 in dunking? I still think I'll go Shot Creator + 3pt Shooting for a 6,3 PG but I am not sure how much it will hurt me if I pass on Playmaking/Ballhandling. But if boosts are still in the game I could get ballhandling to 80 which should be fine. MyCareer feels like solving a mathematical equation this year lol

Anyone doing PG this year? What are you going for?

Spacing is really important in Pro-am, without it it's just a bunch of headless chickens bumping into each other. I personally don't like 2 bigs at the same team playing inside game.
I assume the build gets silver shooting badges, so hopefully the 3 is even better later on. But still; less lateral quickness, vertical, rebounding, dunks vs. able to clear the paint so others can score inside. Plus HOF Rim Protector looks very alluring.

It's pretty obvious that 2k has done a good job balancing. Once we find out that shot creators have subpar standing shots everything will have disadvantages.

Im going with a PG Shotcreator & Pass / Ballhandling with the Bulls, they need a rebuild and I am the guy for that

              Check out YouTube.
They are posting videos with all the secondary badges for some archetypes.

As far I can see, all archetypes will get the 3 new badges and apparently defensive stopper as well.

EDIT: not all archetypes will get defensive stopper

                Dual Archetypes Confirmed... Thoughts? Combinations?

I think 2k put a lot into making 3 pt shooting as rare and valuable in the game as it is in real life

I am confident 70 3ball will go in a lot. BUT they will have to be open

2k was as pissed as we were about that screen BS playmakers and sharps did.

I think the game won't change at all for ppl
                Who already shot good shots

This is going to be a totally different experience for ppl who did nothing but cheese off screens.

The very first "shooting is broken" thread will probably be from one of these people

Like naw it isn't broken, you just can't shoot like super Curry off a pick anymore bum

So if your against making shooting your secondary dont be. I'm confident you will still hit close to 60% on wide open shots just like 2k17.

Also this game is gonna be hell for floor spacing if 90% of the community aren't shooters so Ima need more bigs to go 3pt as their secondary please lol Not gonna be a good look when every game I play in Walk on, another big is clogging my paint so I can't do post moves lol

the pure rebounder is calling my name i think im going back to it. it'll be my first player and eventually ill probably make a 2nd player which will be my dual archetype.

i know ill probably never hit 99 and i know ill be playing all modes pro-am, stage, park. Im going to keep it simple with the OG build & all my hall of fame badges.

and i really dont feel like messing up a dual archetype build and waste vc. #horsegang

                    Hey -

Not played 2k since 2015 (And I was bad then!), been reading this thread and others, wow makes your head hurt!

                    My 2 thoughts are either:

                    SC / Ball Handle - 6"3 PG
                    or
                    Reb / Drive+Finish - 6"11 C

My normal style of play was to max 3pt, and just shoot the 3 (I only played offline MyCareer really). So I have no "style" of play or "Specialty"

I really want to get into Pro Am / Park, which of the above (Or other suggestions would be good for a beginner to NBA games?)

Yeah I definitely made the decision to go pure post scoring (7'3 340), and I was actually getting steals in my two playthroughs with that build, when compared to making builds with defending in them I actually never got steals. It's kind of weird. I also got around the same amount of blocks and rebounds but I had a deadly (and I mean DEADLY) offensive game. I honestly am thinking about maxing out post offense right away on my guy first thing from the get go. Basically having any knowledge of the post game on 2K will make you good to go. I was hitting all kinds of crazy shots in the proving ground and with my size it is so easy to back dudes down and get easy layups.

Looking to make a Carmelo Anthony type and I'm unsure which 2 to combine

Post Scorer, 3 Point Shooting- current Melo
                          Slashing, Ball Handling/Passing- young Melo
Ball Handling/Passing, 3 Point Shooting- prime Melo
Ball Handling/Passing, Post Scoring- mix of them all.

Think I really want to be a dominant big (Ala Shaq).

As i have no skill in NBA, figure learning post won't be any harder than learning dribbles etc.

                              Can't decide between:

                              Rebound / Finishing
                              Slash / Rebound
                              Post Score / Finishing

                              Or any other recommendation?

Well yes but I think shot creator is a good option for those people. With "Difficult Shots" HoF you should be able to pull of some stunts. More so than without it at least.
Learning to play proper offense would still be needed for consistency. Let's hope there is less cheese.
