Re: New CAP system
I remember feeling uneasy when created draft classes created by users in 2K17 began getting so much press. Bleacher report and SI both did stories featuring how realistic the draft picks created by users were. I also remember how the best draft class creators got very little to no love from 2k. I'm starting to believe that things aren't done because 2K doesn't realize how important they are to offline users because to be honest this site has become the go to site for any and all things NBA 2K as far as real feedback. I'm afraid that 2K is slowly cutting the head off of the offline experience to steer users to online modes because My Player/Playground/My Team, etc has becoming they're money maker. The YouTubers don't give a d*mn about how they're My Player looks. They can buy their Tims, green hair, ugly clothes and just play head to head and rep up so they can get into the E-League which is probably going to become 2K's real cash cow. I think they realize that without realistic draft classes offline users will tire of My GM/My League and they're betting on users migrating to the online stuff. I'm not of the belief at all that 2K is lazy or 2K is clueless or any thought process that believes that these guys don't understand or know how offline users feel. I think that they have decided to go in a different direction and offline is going to die a slow death.Comment

Re: New CAP system
As much as i want to bash 2k for that joke of a prelude.
(Im so over the tutorial voice and the *** **** pop ups in 2ku)
I think y'all should calm down and wait for the full game. The offline CAP is not the same as the myplayer cap.
In the art direction video they showed two CAPs system one with a blue background and one with a red background

Re: New CAP system
This can't be the actual CAP system can it? Was there even an option to add facial hair? No way it is. If it is then this might just be the worst CAP system I've seen in any modern day sports game. The Smackdown vs Raw games on PS2 had deeper CAP systems than this. No way 2K purposely regressed this far.Comment

They only care about the money. There's no nicer way to put it. The millions of dollars they made off of the game itself wasn't enough, now they want us to buy all these micro transactions by advertising it everywhere we go. They even made you start using VC in MyGM. I wouldn't be surprised if they started making you use it in MyLeague tooComment

It's really sad but this is true.

1. 2k listens to community feedback as much as any company out there.
2. They're a business. Would you expect them to not care about money?

Re: New CAP system
lol. I respect the honesty!
I know they added some nice stuff for the offline franchise guys, it's very good. But this is similar to what happened in other areas of the game---add something that looks good, but something else gets taken away. And it'll be easy for them to point at what did get better, in a "No don't look here! Look there!" fashion.Comment

But yeah I hope this doesn't happen to WWE 2k. That community is entirely built off CAW. I personally will be fine but it sucks what happened to the Draft Class community.

Re: New CAP system
I had such a nice plan to make this awesome roster and after many years of not doing one finally make a Draft class again since Embracethepace wont do one this year but come on with this CAP I cant do much, there simply aint much to work with so I gues I will just stick to try and make a roster if even possible and stick with generated draft classes with a few tweaks here and there. Not much we can do with this. Unless offcourse they surprise us and the OFFLINE CAP is way better then we have for the MyCareer / MyPlayer then it will be an entire different story all together and then I will tip my hat off to them but I have my doubts we will see something better. In anycase I will wait and see until next week what it will be.Comment

A couple of things:
1. 2k listens to community feedback as much as any company out there.
2. They're a business. Would you expect them to not care about money?

2. Well yeah? of course they're gonna care about money... that doesn't mean they have to shove their micro transactions down our throats, does it?Comment

So it's confirmed. People were not "jumping the gun" in this thread at all.
Millions upon millions of people are downloading custom rosters and draft classes on 2K Share and they go ahead and do this. Mind boggling.Comment
