It may not be a popular opinion, but I much prefer this system to what we had. I'm a big ML guy and those generated players were awful looking. In addition to being terrible, they all kinda looked the same. It sucked the immersion right out for me. Now I really hope they can patch in sculpting as it was for those guys who liked it. I really do. But do not replace it with what it was. Barkley, Reggie and missing Legends aren't worth that to me. I don't much care for about draft class players looking like their real self.

Re: New CAP system
I think this is one of those features that had more impact than they were expecting. It's true that there aren't a ton of guys capable of making really good CAPs, but the amount of users who actually take advantage of their work is exponential. Now if their plan all along was to take a "one step back, 3 steps forward" approach next year, then be honest and transparent about it so we can go ahead and get over it. (Or as one poster said earlier, wait to start implementing when you have the whole system upgraded.)
I am hopeful they will be able to do SOMETHING to enhance what they've done so far. We know they are getting the message. We will just have to wait and see if we can get a fix or an explanation.

Re: New CAP system
After going back and looking at the Brian Mazique video, I'm starting to think the CAP system he was messing with wasn't the final build, mainly because there is not option for player signatures nor can you edit badges, these are very vital to create a player as well, even 2k14 (with no facial edits) had signature option. I doubt 2K left those options completely out of CAPs, that would make less sense than taking out sculpting tools. Now that does not mean the creation of players isn't limited or hasn't taken a step back but it definitely lets me know their "should" be more to the CAP system than we have seen thus far, at least this is what I am hoping for. So I'm scaling back on my initial reaction to the cap a little, but the hype has definitely died for me.Comment

Re: New CAP system
I think most everyone agrees that the new CAPs are more realistic looking. The problem is the lack of sculpting - meaning that by year 3 or 4 of your MyLeague, you'll have dozens of players with the exact same face, a la Madden.

Re: New CAP system
I wish Owen Good was still at kotaku. I want him to write about how 2k is nickel and diming it's fans just for facial hair and hair during the create a player part.
This is the first time I think that a triple A game is doing this. I'm trying to think of a game where you're able to scan your likeness then stonewalled because you have to buy hair/facial hair. I mean wtf....I can see mobile games doing this but not a game where it's full priced.
It should be done the way select the jump shot is done. You pick what you want then if you want to change it later you pay.

Some of the depth. Still is the deepest franchise mode.

Re: New CAP system
Again, my assumption is in order to get the CAP system better, they maybe had to take a step back for now and add back in sculpting later.

I think if you said last year "They are going to give you very limited hair options and start for charging it next year" people would have scoffed at that and said that's absurd. What's next? Eyebrows?Comment

They've been trending this direction...and next year will likely be even worse.
