Re: NBA 2k18 Pro-Am Discussion Thread

Anyone looking to add a pass first point guard? I'm a smart player always looking to pass. Could care less if I ever score but I don't want to play with randoms. I'm not a basketball player and am still learning the game tho I do have the basics and I don't turn the ball over. My guy is a slasher and 6 foot 1. If you are interested in my play, please hit me up on ps4 rabid55wolverine.

Thanks, hope to play with some good people. I'm very active and take direction well

Ive never been so frustrated til today re: walk-on. Ive played like 10 games where literally the other team is scorching us from deep as if theyre the prime Warriors. Ridiculous. Even if the opponent is attempting a fadeaway from 35 feet its still going in. Wtf?

We already have different options on sock length and accessory length, so it definitely would be nice to have some options on short length.

Is ProAm broken on consoles, too? On PC you cannot start games anymore. As soon as both teams join the arena, everyone will get the error message that "an error occured, that prevents gameplay from continuing".

How smart is it to go with a 6'11 guy at the 5 spot, two forwards who's 6'8, and two guards

                On which console are you?

"Great" to hear, though. Great in "", not because it is good for you, but because that means chances are high, 2k is gonna fix that problem. PC only problems tend to get overlooked by the devs...

Ever since that server downtime before patch got released on ps4, pro am is broken with same message. I'm on PC too btw.

                      Don’t do it

                      Unless he’s a defender

I had a guy that short and was so hindered against taller bigs that I was forced to make another guy at 7 foot 3

Now with the same exact gameplay I can play better defense

I've been playing 2K with the same group of people since 2K12...

There's only 3 of us now.

I have a Playmaking Sharpshooter at 6ft5. I can shoot (92 3) but my guy can't really go to the rim unless I'm uncontested and he's at 80 speed so not slow but not that quick. My passing is around an 80 and driving lay up 73 or so. Considering making a new guy as I just need a high 80s 3 with the ability to dunk in traffic/make layups.

The other two, one is a 7ft 3 rebounder and one is a 6 11 stretch 4. We played with two friends who aren't on that much, ended up going 4-0 pretty easily but we still need a couple wings. (PS4)

                          - Playing ProAm walk only -

my biggest grip with ProAm is the fact that they have no functionality to mix up teams prior game starting. I play either a pure Rim Protector (7.2) or Rebounder / Post Scorer (7.0) and 4 out of 5 times i end playing the 3 against some super fast pure shooter.

One team with 4 bigs who all crowd the lane and other team all guards ...

A question re Camera, at the moment i use the "2k high" for ProAm, but struggle some times on defense judging angles as with this camera your basket is on "top" and the camera can pan waaay back if the ball is top of the key or deep. Causes me to miss box outs or mis judge help defense situations.

Is there any way to set the Camera for ProAm so that "your" basket is always at the bottom of the screen? Similar to how "my career default camera is"

                          Thanks

I've noticed there are a lot of 7'3" 290-300lbs centers on the top-ranked Pro-Am teams. I know you can get max strength at the lower weights. I'm wondering does the weight make a difference for the constant positioning under the hoop or finishing? I remember last NBA2KLab finding that every 15lbs equated out to a roughly 2% increase in dunking success rate. Admittedly those were with wings.

I have to assume the pushing and shoving animations fighting for position during the play and for the rebound are affected by weight, but perhaps it's not particularly noticeable on higher weights.

tl;dr For a 7'3" center is it worth it to drop down to 290-300lbs from 340 to get the marginal rating increases?

edit: Went ahead and did some tests on the playground courts with friends and from I can tell the pushing, shoving and positioning animations do not appear to be seriously impacted by weight. Could be wrong, just what our crude tests found.

I'm a 6'11" Rebounding Athletic Finisher and haven't had any problems with those max weight, 7'3" bigs. Just hands up D is all you need in paint.
