Slashing Playmaker is ranked 17 / 35 whereas Playmaking Slasher is ranked 15.

I share this because I thought maybe the Slashing Playmaker was a rare build and so we don't have many cases available for it.

At this point, I do see evidence that correlates dunk tendencies to actual dunk outcomes. It would be worthwhile and just to see 2K go in and correct the tendencies for these builds that have Slashing in their archetype but are being held back from producing dunks due to driving dunk tendencies as low as 25.

There is a lot of joy missing from a Slashing build if it cannot carry out the task of attempting driving dunks in traffic let alone in the open court with a clear path to the rim.

....dude. Slasher doesn't just mean dunking. When I think slashing playmaker, I'm thinking guys like Tony Parker, who can get to the rim, but not necessarily dunk. Especially at PG.

And you didn't make a Slasher. You made a Playmaker.

Maybe no one else read it, or put it together when they went over the system, I'll reiterate it: "Your secondary archetype will add or subtract attributes from your primary based on your choice".

So, you're a playmaker first. They added driving and finishing to it. Not "Dunking". Driving and finishing. That's contact lay ups, lay ups, dunks, etc.

So, with the fact that Andrew here seems like he's beside himself, I'm going to say what I've been holding back most of this thread: You guys goofed up your combo. It's not your fault. You had to read between the lines, and no where was it ever stated that those builds wouldn't dunk. It was never guaranteed they would either.

I'm saying this as we've started seeing more tendancies come up, and my honest opinion: PG Slashing Playmaker archetypes might have never been intended to dunk. You guys can't equip contact dunks, correct?

I mean, think about all of this: Your tendancy is low, you cannot get contact dunks. It is starting to point to that conclusion.

Before you respond Hans(because I know it's coming), I want you to think about this. I'm not saying it's these guys fault. I'm definitely not on 2k's side with this, as there was a lack of information. But I'm actually at a point where I believe this is the truth.

I'm thinking PG Slashing Playmaker archetypes are meant to be crafty players that can get to the rim and give you acrobatic layup displays. Otherwise, why would they not be able to equip posters? Why is driving dunk at a 25 tendancy? I also think that if this is correct, it should have been transparent from the get go. It's on 2k, because Slasher was the dunking archetype last year, So I completely understand the thought process of making those builds. It should've been way more clear.

This is the Logical solution. It's supported by 2 in game facts, and the fact that 2k "Bumped Dunks" and has never revisited this issue.

In conclusion: I hope I'm wrong. I hope 2k announces patch 5 and this is on the list of fixes. I'm thinking this is what it is at this point.

What is the height and weight on your build + the primary archetype?

Im not trying to pin this on height or weight - this is just for knowledge.

Don't underestimate height and weight either. It seems to have a bigger effect this year. 6'4" isn't very tall in this game.

Totally get that, man. I would be content with just being able to dunk when wide-open. I'm not complaining about posters. Tony Parker's driving dunk is 36, 11 more than mine and I am supposed to have posterizer as a gold badge. Not trying to complain and sound like I should be able to exploit the game, but those layups on a wide-open lane sure are getting old. Also, when I do dunk, its some insane flashy 360 dunk and not one that "Tony Parker" would attempt because both alley-oop, flashy dunk, and putback dunk are all higher tendency than driving dunk. Also, my driving dunk rating (not tendency) is a 74, that's pretty damn good, but doesn't correlate to tendency. And FINALLY, 25 is THE LOWEST DUNK TENDENCY OUT OF ANY PLAYER IN THE GAME, that includes NBA rosters. Literallly, Isaiah Thomas, Steph Cury, and Tony Park can all dunk better than my 6'4 200lb "Slashing" Playmaker. I was a pure Playmaker last year and dunked way more than this year.

And I think that's kinda ridiculous that you think they shouldn't. There are plenty of playmakers that can dunk, a handful in traffic. To be honest, there are more sharp shooters that can dunk in traffic than playmakers. 2K absolutely screwed us over with this. I get tendencies for normal, real life nba players. But no one buys this game to create a player that's an average NBA player. If I'm creating a playmaking slasher at 6'4" I'm expecting him be like John Wall or Russell Westbrook once I reach a certain rating. No one's asking for anything unrealistic, they just want their ratings to matter. It's absolutely pointless to give someone a big dunk rating, only for it not to matter because your player's tendency to dunk. The two should be correlated and not be its own separate thing. I keep saying that 2K either doesn't test their own games or they do this crap on purpose.

Not on a hate train, sir, just using a bit of common sense, which makes you nonsensical defending this bs. 6'4" slashers will dunk on a fast break, period. Not every time, but alot more than what we're seeing. If I have the ability to dunk with a 75+ rating, why the hell would my tendency be set a 25? There's no excuse for that as it makes no sense. I can drop 70 points but can't dunk when there's no one there? Ok. And last I check, we are talking about DUAL archetypes, meaning being more than just a pure playmaker. Chris Paul is not a slasher, Teodosic is not a slasher. Both are what would be considered, to me at least, playmaking shot creaters. But none of your examples are slashers, making your point moot. Talk about nonsensical, huh? I used the word ridiculous, but I didn't use as an insult to warrant this aggressive tone, but whatever.
