Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread

I was really excited about our playoff run and that’s come crashing to an end because of 2K’s trash *** AI defense. We got past the Spurs in 5 and now have the Suns, who have Bender and Chriss sitting out in the corners. Obviously Capela and Onuaku sit IN THE PAINT leaving them wide open for easy corner 3s on every possession. I didn’t mind so much in game 1 because I was left in for the first 18 minutes but in games 2 and 3 I’ve been taken out after the first quarter for 6 minutes only to find we’re down by 18-19 points because we just get destroyed as soon as I leave the floor. This **** is such a joke man how am I supposed to enjoy this?

In the first round Bender and Chriss were putting up like 5 ppg on 5 shots MAX. Now they’re getting 10-15 shots because the CPU abuses it.

I started up another player and my God this is RIDICULOUS. You have to spend 45 MINUTES before you even have a chance to play an NBA game. It's incredibly frustrating that they would force you to go through this anytime you want to create a new player.

I really want to make a 'big'.. but I'm not willing to grind.. my SG with TWolves is an 88.. got to about 78 or 79 with Legend Edition VC .. after the rebate when the game crashed all our careers.. .. maybe after my shoe contract and I (maybe?) have some VC laying around.. I can play just fine with an 88 OVR..and 'cap breaking' takes forever when you have a life and have to work

So.. without even a slight notification.. the TWolves made a trade.. and we have Jared Dudley on the team as of this game I started.. the 45th of the season

I can't figure out who, except Cole Aldrich the game traded for him since I just started the game .. and I wouldn't have even noticed probably, except Kevin says something in the opening possession

Nearly have a first half triple double vs. Portland.. 14/8/8 but we're LOSING BY 17 at half 64-47.. down by 4 when I subbed out 2 minutes left in the first.. down by 15 with 5 minutes left in the 2nd when I go back in.. AGAIN.. the team is on 2-6 n the last 8 games.. which is all I've been able to play since the update that reverted us back to those 2k14 substitutions where you come back to a huge deficit. Team LOSES more of my triple double games than wins..

Here's a new one for ya.. I go off to start the third.. but we ended up down by 20.. I get it down to 13 and sub out.. still 7:59 left in the quarter.. Jamal Crawford scores 12.. some other stuff must have happened.. I'm back in 4 minutes later.. and we're up by 3???? WTF.. a 16 point swing in 4 minutes.. outscoring then 22-6 in that time?

Now in the 4th quarter I'm apparently the PG.. Teague and Tyus Jones both sitting.. Jones hasn't even been in.. my SG can't exactly guard Lillard with all of the screens. Losing by double digits again now.. no matter who I pass to they brick ..and brick..and brick ..and then foul on the other end.. thanks for the roller coaster ride 2K

18 point loss.... this was a waste of an hour for sure.. 27/13/12 thanks to my teammates who didn't make 4th quarter shots as Trailblazers shot something like 85% in the 4th.. McCollum was 8 for 9 and 5 for 5 outside in the 4th ..and Lillard was .. Lillard.. free throw line jumpers like crazy

I wish there was a quicker way to reach 90 overall. I really want those GM and coach-like perks.

what exactly effects "on fire" ?

does it boost your attributes or badges?

If it boosts your attributes, will it even boost them if you are a pure sharp and allready got 99 3PT?

Some more 2K b.s. my 27-18 TWolves just lost 109-106 to Orlando.. who had 13 wins at the time.. another wasted triple double of course.. 37/10/14 this time.. 5 Magic players in double figures.. and I get yelled at by Shammy for "playing for the other team" oops

Not exactly.. all of my players played, I had the triple double.. Kyrie not playing was a big deal last night

My TWolves record was best in the West before the update in November.. since the update the teammates are crap, even with me averaging double digit assists ..and 91% chemistry and we've won 2 of the last 10 games.. we've lost 4 of my last 5 triple doubles as well in this streak since the update .. 4 triple doubles in a row.

Jimmy "buckets" hasn't made more than 3 shots in a game the last 15 games.. 2K broke him in my career.

He touches the ball every possession he's on the court.. I pass like crazy.. he shot 10-11 shots a game before the update ...since then he might shoot 7 times, at most.. the game injured him and KAT both in the first week and he hasn't been right since.. the game's been playing Shabazz the same minutes as Butler lately..

Even before I was a starter, Butler usually had 5 for 14 games .. now I try and feed him the ball but he doesn't shoot anymore.. his shooting % is 41 for the season

I gotta get that 90 OVR

I wouldn't blame the update, my 76ers are doing just fine on top of the league.

Won the title in season 2 with the Rockets, beating the Bulls in 5 for my first title and Finals MVP. Playoffs were tough in patches but the Finals were easy, the Bulls just couldn’t matchup and outside of Cousins and Lavine, they couldn’t get consistent production.

So at the end of year 2, my averages in the regular season were 24 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists on 58.6% shooting, 38.5% 3 point shooting and 83.3% free throws, making my first all star team, the All-NBA first team and Most Improved Player.

In the playoffs, I averaged 28 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists on 61% shooting, 42% 3 point shooting and 88% free throws.

In the finals I averaged a triple double of 34.4 points, 12.6 rebounds and 10.4 assists on 61% shooting, 31% 3 point shooting and 88% free throws.
