Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

Couple of questions for you guys.

I'm going with my annual T-Mac build. I'm debating between pure shot creator and sharpshooting shot creator. The sharp gets an extra gold shooting badge (gold deep range deadeye) while both builds get gold catch and shoot and gold corner specialist. Also a +4 for sharpshooting shot creator's 3-ball (80-76).
Pure shot creator is better at everything else. Is pure shot creator consistent enough from 3 to mimic T-mac?

Also, my team is looking for a quick point guard, so I want a De'Aaron Fox build. Shot creating playmaker? If so, is that build just as good/better than playmaking shot creator?

    Thank you for opinions!

Got 120k vc from just playing the game, time for a new build.

      Thinking of

      6'8 - 6'10 Point Forward?
Pure shooter (aka the no-skill build, but can't beat 'em join 'em)

      open for suggestions

if you don't have a defensive player, I'd recommend a shorter/lightweight rebounding rim protector at PF or C (C gets HOF rim protector while PF gets gold pick pocket) you'll be so fast. I like having the extra speed over weight with this guy

        or the 6'10 SF ldd

either build is the boogeyman to other teams

If you make a Point Forward don't make him 6'10. 2k nerfed them this year and they can't speed boost. Can't go wrong with a Stretch Big though. Hands down one of the most OP builds in the game.

yeah those stretch 4 are game breakers

I might do that with my reborn but I think I'd rather just make a pure slasher or something

although this year I've mostly been doing the dirty work kind of player, it might be fun to light that scoreboard up with some swiss and pepper jack

To be a good Pure Shot, I think you have to be able to break people off the dribble and/or use screens effectively. Sharpshooting Shot gives you a bit more versatility in that you can also be a spot up shooter but you’ll probably lose some ability to drive in traffic. I guess it depends what’s more important to you. I’ve seen plenty of Pure Shots shoot over 50% from 3 though.

I would really recommend a Sharpshooting Playmaker over either of those, to be honest. But I really get annoyed when my point guard can’t shoot 3s. I just think it allows the rest of the defense to zero in on their own matchups when they’re not worried about the point guard coming off screens or breaking their match up off the dribble and draining open 3s. If the game was more realistic, I think penetration would be more valuable and open up the floor for your teammates. But in this game, smart players will just let you shoot middies or drive uncontested rather than leaving shooters to help.

If you go minimum wingspan it gets to 83 Ball Control, you only have to fill the takeover meter a bit or get hot to speedboost, Speed with ball also maxes out at 90 if you go minimum weight.
Look at the behind the back dribble at 2 minutes, that's pratically unguardable.

What do you guys think about an Orlando Shaq build? Slashing post scorer?

When I get my reborn I'll be doing something with good HOF badges since they get maxed instantly. Probably a pure stretch four since I have a lockdown already

I'm on my double bar at 92 overall for my pure playmaker. I've been thinking about making a play sharp because that build is just one of the best in the entire game.

Pure playmakers/point forwards are no good this year because you now need at least an 86 rating to green middies and threes 100% of the time.

Last year you could green middies every time with a low-70s rating.

But 2K19 upped the rating requirement in the mid range for auto greens, which means you'll always be shooting "dice roll" RNG jump shots with a pure playmaker/point forward regardless of how close to the basket you get.

I have a LD SF 6'8, and currently grinding the badges - a few silver so far and half of DS. Playing HoF at Nuggets, started with a 6 wins streak. He is able to reach to rim at def both transitions and switchs, and i liked it.

                          Have a P-Strech4 as a back-up.

For Proam or jrc, PSN-cankar, u can add me.

a great reward for getting to 99 would be getting all the VC you pumped into your myplayer back.

I must have used about 60 bucks on my player and I'm still at 93.

That would be a infinite loop

But same here, spent some gain low

That's true. I can make open 3's in the park at a pretty good rate, but I miss often as well. I think my 3pt percentage is about 58%, which is pretty solid for a pure playmaker, but I do have my moments of not being able to hit.

The things I really like about the pure playmaker is that I can make him tall 6'7" and still be really fast and athletic. I also love the HoF badges, especially dimer. It would probably be better to make a 6'5" play sharp, though.
