Just going to go back to my 91 sharpshooting shot creator and grind him till 94. I'm on my last bar of the 3 bars to 92. Then it's one bar for 93 and 94.

Don't you hate saving enough VC to boost a player to 85, but you're scared to pull the trigger on a non-shooting big?

Any archetype can make threes in this game as long as you can get a few badge boosts to trigger before you shoot (dimer, hustle rebounder pass after offensive rebound, pick and popper, etc.).

I have a shot creating post scorer with a 61 three pointer and bronze catch & shoot + bronze corner specialist + bronze pick and popper and he shoots about 50% on corner threes and 40% on wing/top of the key threes without any additional badge boosts kicking in.

Give me a silver or higher dimer pass or a silver+ hustle rebounder kickout pass, though, and it's an easy green from anywhere on the floor.

The safe, but boring, pick is to go with Glass Cleaner or Rebounding Rim Protector or something like that. You’ll still be useful but won’t score much unless your matchup is awful. Honestly it’s hard to score with any non-shooting big but Athletic Finishers and Post Scorers at least have a few tools at their disposal. It’s underwhelming compared to shooting builds but you can chip in a bit if you’re skilled/smart enough. You can also have the occasional big game (20-30 points) if your matchup sucks.

Since nobody uses slashers or athletic finishers any more, there's no good reason to make a rim protector for Pro Am when hands up defense with a 70 shot contest rating and the bronze defensive badges will make 90% of driving/standing layups miss this year.

And the silver rebounding badges + a mid-70s rebounding rating is good enough to at least break even on the boards against a pure Glass Cleaner if you know how to boxout and time your jumps.

Basically, what I'm saying is don't make your big man an offensive liability who can't do anything on that end of the floor besides screening and dunking. Put some shooting and/or post scoring in your build so your teammates don't have to play 4 vs. 5 on every single offensive possession.

You don't need hall of fame or even gold badges to defend and rebound inside this year. Silver and bronze badges are enough to get the job done. I've been playing lots of center lately with a 7'0" shot creating post scorer, and I don't even bother to go for offensive rebounds, but it's still very rare for me to lose the rebounding count by more than 2 or 3 total rebounds.

What build are you thinking about making and what game mode you will be mostly spending your time on?

Well I have a Rebounding AF and if the other team is rolling with 5 shooters, I’m going to eat unless my team are numbnuts and won’t give me the ball. Even with the crappy inside finishing, I can usually torch stretches if they have no one to back them up at the rim. I’m sure everyone’s experience will vary but I think teams still need someone who can defend the rim and grab boards although I do agree with you that it’s not too hard to defend the rim with average stats/badges.

Can you recommend some big man builds listing the primary and secondary archetypes? I really want to make a big man, but I have no clue what is good. You seem very knowledgeable, so I'm curious as to what is the most impactful build to you. Pure post, pure glass, etc?

Anything with shot creating or sharpshooting in it will be able to hit threes.

Anything with post scorer secondary in it will be able to score inside on stretches.

But you'll need to go post scorer primary if you want to score inside on glass cleaners.

Just don't make a pure glass, pure rim, pure athletic, or glass/rim/athletic mix and your guy will be able to contribute in some way offensively besides dunks and screens, which means he won't be putting your teammates in a 4v5 situation every offensive possession. The worst bigs to have on your team this year are the ones that only have glass/rim/athletic in their build.

I'm certainly not trying to question your expertise, but I want to bring up a point. I watch arguably the best Pro-AM team when Dimez steams on Twitch and they run a pure glass cleaner at center. Is that because they're an organized team and they need that?

I've seen pure glass cleaners being able to hit mid range jumpers and even corner 3's with boost. I believe Tyceno uploaded a YouTube video a few days ago with his pure glass cleaner friend he always plays with and the video was focused on how great the glass cleaner was.

I'm really ignorant on this topic, but I thought pure glass cleaners were really good.

Why are play/sharps, sharps and play/shots dunking in traffic and hitting tough layups this year?

They had that part of the game better last year

Cant confirm, I play Rec nearly daily and see athletic finishers still fairly often. Your other points are valid though.

Tbh i play a postscoring shotcreator and i notice difficult shots triggers on a lot of my layups

                                That just makes no sense
