Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

I have a pure playmaker that is a 90 overall. I have three hall-of-fame badges and really close to getting two more. I know this build is inferior to the play sharp that everyone uses, but I really enjoy it.

What would be a good iverson build?

Roughly 6'0" tall and 170 pounds. Iverson did a ton of damage in the mid-range and by penetrating the paint. He wasn't that great of a man-on-man defender because he was so small, but he was amazing in the passing lanes.

You could make him any combination of ball-handling & shot creating, I would think.

I'd go with playmaking shot creator.

Pure shot creator fits his scoring style better but it doesn't get ankle breaker/ball control/speed with ball high enough so you should put playmaking in there as a secondary archetype to fix that problem.

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

There's simply no way to truly replicate Iverson. In order to have his speed and ball handling you'd have to go pure playmaker. 99 SWB and ball control is the first thing you'd need. Then you'd have to have a very high layup, like a 92. Shot close a 99. He'd need at least a 70 dunk, because he didn't really dunk a lot but when he did, it wasn't just touching the rim either. Boy had hops.

Dude is right tho, mid-range all day. At least a high 80 mid-range with gold or HOF difficults. He'd be a midtier 3 point shooter in today's league. Probably a high 30 percentile. Roughly 38 percent, so he'd need a 75 or higher 3 ball with catch and shoot at least silver.

Most of this can be achieved with a play maker 1st, shot creator secondary.

Dude led the league in steals multiple times and that's when players like Gary Payton and Jordan in their prime. It's true, he wasn't the on ball defender they were, but he could swipe the ball better than both of them and be at the other rim twice as fast.

Plus dude would HAVE to have relentless finisher HOF. There's no one in the history of the league that would take contact like he did and he was probably 6 inches, 30 pounds lighter than most of the greats. Dude was constantly getting elbows to the ribs, mouth, and still got up and knocked down his charity points.

Iverson was undoubtedly the greatest pound for pound player in the league. If he could do everything the same way he did at 6'6 (impossible, i know) he'd have been better than Jordan. But that's why he's Iverson and Jordan is Jordan.

Not to discredit Mike at all, he's the GOAT. But Iverson just simply was one of a kind.

Westbrook is probably the only one who comes close, and Iverson didn't have half the athleticism/strength that Russell has.

If Iverson was redrafted in the 2019-2020 draft and was able to play in this league with no hand checking and refs calling fouls if you get breathed on, he'd score 50 a game. No lie.

****... Same could be said for any of the greats.

Can you IMAGINE what Barkley would do to these tall, skinny, stretch 4s?

I'd love to see Prime D-Rob play against Nikola Mirotic. Lmfao....

We'd be turning the league back to the 1970s. All teams would operate off the low block in days.

Lmfao Rookie Shaq gets drafted to the Kings with their current roster they're a guaranteed top 3 seed in the West.

That's just how good all the old heads were, man.

No way to recreate any of them.

T-Mac Prolly would have been able to stay healthy in this league today, and he was a better scorer than Kobe. Prime McGrady could shoot, drive, and was willing to pass. He's another that could effortlessly score 50 a game.

just got my career high in points in rec with my new shot creating sharpshooter. should of made him since the beginning instead of going pure shot. tbh now i know how it feels to be on the dark side its fun to put up lots of points but this proves shooting 3s is too easy in this game.PS_Messages_20181204_041903.jpg

rec is even worse now that the 2k league "tryouts" is over. Everybody wants to be the hero.

Id say T-Mac was Shot creator first, slasher second. I have one at 6'8 like Tmac and he's a beast, but defense was always lacking as he only got bronze defensive badges.

I'm working in a Kobe build, 6'6 shot creating slasher right now. I'd like to say i finally got the build i wanted, but he's only a 65 right now.

I have a playmaking slasher who's my lone 90OVR and he's fun. But i can really only finish off the pnr. It's fun, but i feel like i want more ways to score. This build, even with a 60 moving shot from mid-range can hit pull ups off the pick as well. I don't always have to drive. Plus with a 58 3 pointer I'm averaging 34% from deep with hot zones in the corner. Once i get catch and shoot bronze with Silver Corner Specialist he should be more reliable from deep.

It's all in how you want to play, less who you want to emulate.

A Post Scoring/Rim protector is useless. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong. Most post scoring builds get Silver Rim Protector and Silver Defensive Stopper. I've plugged in the stats and most get 71 block shot, whereas the Post Rim protector gets 75. That's a measly 4 extra points, for what?

2k needs to buff this build. Give it 80 base blocking with Gold Rim Protector

The only post scorer builds that are worth making this year are the shot creating post scorer PF and pure post scorer C.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I like this build for my player. Especially after hitting 94.

Not 100% sure, but pretty confident my block maxes out at 98 and steal maxes out at like 92 (I'm at work otherwise would look). Also, I'm almost positive I have gold rim protector, gold chase-down artist, and gold defensive stopper.

Most likely made a 2-way post scorer and is confused.

The post takeover animations are very powerful for the minute that it lasts, but when takeover mode's not activated, you're going to have trouble scoring on glass cleaners/rim protectors if your post badges aren't hall of fame and your post ratings aren't 90+.

Post scorers also have one of the tougher takeover bars to fill up because it won't go up much unless you are scoring directly off post moves.

I only recommend making shot posts and pure posts because they can still score consistently against other bigs without takeover active.
