Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread

Just giving a heads up for anyone that is basically OCD for proper sim results/stats like I am but there is some "Glitch", and I say it's a glitch because it would make no sense if it was intentional. Could go into great detail with all the things i tried to change/test, literally everything to figure out why certain people(LeBron, Ben Simmons, DeRozan) would consistently shoot 70+% from restricted area but I couldn't get Giannis to despite him having similar/better standing/driving layup ratings.

Literally tested everything and it took like 8+ hours, but there is some weird glitch that if a players draw foul rating hits 95, their inside %s will drop 5-7% on average in simulation. It literally can be at 94 and its fine, but the second it reaches 95 there's a massive drop. If I made Lebron/simmons/derozan's draw foul 95 or higher like Giannis's they would start shooting way worse in the restricted area, then I lowered giannis's and now he's consistently breaking 70%. So I'd recommend capping a players draw foul rating at 94 for sim results since it's only a marginal difference in FTA if they're higher than that but has a massive effect on how they shoot in the restricted area(could also affect other shot location %'s but wasn't testing that so don't know.)

In addition, not a glitch but in testing figured out as well that coaching system/system proficiency and the players fit will affect a players sim%'s to a significant degree, particularly in this case was just testing restricted area but in testing found out LeBron will shoot significantly worse in the restricted area on average if I changed Walton's system to triangle and lowered his proficiency in that system all the way down.

But the amount of variables at play this year makes finding those sliders daunting to say the least. Anyone who does deserves an award, because it's likely to take a ton of work.

I thought they talked about teams signing based on fit for the system, but I see a bunch of useable players like Ed Davis or Omri Casspi sitting in the FA pool while Tyler Ullis is making 9 million a season

Well these issues are all solved in the slider set.

Min/Max rating being 20/40 respectively is going to get low rated guys big contracts...

Player Fame at 40 is going to get old former superstars big contracts. Need to drop that much lower. Like in the 20s or teens even.

Player potential 50 is going to get anyone with decent potential paid regardless of current overall. I would drop that a bit too.

To solve the issues in the quoted replies I would raise Min/Max above 50 (in the 60-70 range depending on who you want getting min contracts).

Put more emphasis on Minutes if you want guys who sat the bench last season not getting big bucks. Bump up Durability too to keep an injury prone guy like Wade away from big bucks as well.

Can we do something about the CPU-Generated players? Can we just make them more... realistic?

This guy is from Nigeria and has blonde hair, blue eyes, and caramel skin. Can whoever is putting in the formulas take 5 minutes to make them provide more realistic generated player results?

Oh and everyone and their mama having 60-75 wingspan needs to change.

How can anyone play deep into a MyLeague/MyGM with these untrustworthy results.

Yeah, i'm getting a lot of African American guys with blonde and hair and blue eyes too. I even submitted a support ticket to 2K about it.

We need people to be making quality fictional draft classes again this year. I started one last night.

I'll be making some as well at some point, I just wont have the storylines with it/them.

There's really no single player to do that with. You have to switch players

That said, I have felt pretty good about the contracts and trades I see with the set I have been using. My goal has been to see if I can escape 30 team user control and use sliders to create an AI environment where teams can do their thing and not all be idiots. Some should be idiots but I do a little editing to make sure that the Assistant GM or scouting ratings on some teams are. . . not good.

If you're on Sony I just uploaded by test settings under the user name LornzoDC98.

If you sim these and evaluate I will welcome the feedback. Right now I have not touched gameplay sliders and am trying to learn to play on AS.

Any chance you post them in the sliders subforum??

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread

I noticed a disappointing problem last night.

I make fictional draft classes, and in order to streamline the process i import DNA of other NBA player attributes/tendencies/etc to use as a template to build from. Specifically, i used player DNA from classic teams. I did a test sim of my draft class cos i was curious to see what stats my created rookies would get, but i couldn't find them in the rookie report, and after tracking them down i noticed they weren't classified as rookies for some reason, one guy was a 2 year pro, another guy was a 3 year pro, and another guy was a 4 year pro.
But the weird part was when i went back into editing the draft class to check on it, it had their "years pro" listed as 0. So hmmmm not sure what to do about that.
                      I'll submit a support ticket.

Yeah, the DNA is literally the under the hood player details for the player. That includes player years.

Wehn you use DNA for draft classes you have to edit that. It's not a bug, it's just that the system does not automatically detect that you're creating a draft rookie and perform data conversions for you. So when you take DNA from a 28 year old John Starks (I did) then you have to adjust him to make him rookie version of himself - his age, his badges, his attributes, his years in the NBA, etc.

I'm about a month into my real ML. I decided to trade Jimmy Butler to the Heat. Pat Riley strikes again! I gave up James Johnson, Justice Winslow (who had become disgruntled) and a 2019 unprotected 1st. Miami was solid already at 12-9, but in wanted to go all in for Wades last season. The Timberwolves were disappointing again at like 6-12 or something along that line. That plus the real life drama surrounding the team just made me blow it up. I fired Tibs as well and brought in Ron Adams from GS. I hate hiring generated coaches over tenured real life ones. It's the KAT and Wiggins show in Minny for now. Well see how it all plays out. They got back a solid vet in Johnson who does some of what Butler did without the ego and salary demands. I still see Winslow as a prospect with potential, and they got a first.

Read my post again. The players in the draft class were listed as 0 years pro when in the editing screen in the draft class. There was nothing i could edit that changed their rookie status.

Also, i took tendencies from 2010 Carlos Boozer who was drafted in 2003-ish, so it's strange that he would be listed as a 3 year pro.

I think something else buggy is going on.
