Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread

One other thing that bugged me about MyLeague. It's only minor, but De'Aaron Fox won MIP in my game. No 2nd year players ever win the award in the real NBA; never in the history of the league. I submitted a 2k support ticket about it and this was their response.

    Hi Barny,

Thank you for contacting 2K Support!

Thanks for your feedback on the game. At this time there are no plans to restrict the award for second year players. But the development team is always seeking to improve our NBA series and customer suggestions and ideas are always welcome.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask!

      Damn
I may be wrong with this, but I just have a feeling that with 2K support, they dont give a damn unless its game breaking to the point where they could be legally liable (think lost saves from last year or missing content/VC that you paid for). With improvements and minor glitches, I think you're better off trying to get a devs attention directly.

Specifically, i used player DNA from classic teams. I did a test sim of my draft class cos i was curious to see what stats my created rookies would get, but i couldn't find them in the rookie report, and after tracking them down i noticed they weren't classified as rookies for some reason, one guy was a 2 year pro, another guy was a 3 year pro, and another guy was a 4 year pro.
But the weird part was when i went back into editing the draft class to check on it, it had their "years pro" listed as 0. So hmmmm not sure what to do about that.
        I'll submit a support ticket.

        Hi Barny,

Thank you for contacting 2K Support!

Thanks for your feedback on the game. We at 2K are delighted to hear you are having so much fun using the Player DNA functions to experiment with a unique crop of rookies. At this time we do not have the means to adjust roster years, and we regret to say that as such we will be unable to assist with this issue.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask!

        Damn damn damn.

Guess i can't use NBA player attributes/tendencies as templates to make fictional draft classes then. Can't use player DNA after all in this scenario

The workaround to this is to adjust each new rookies years to 0, however you have to do it in the offseason before advancing to the new season.

If you wait until the season starts to adjust their years them they don't register as a rookie.

              That has worked, thanks!

I have to double check this but it looks like you have to do it before you get to the Player Progression screen otherwise their ratings go up.

I'm glad there's a workaround for personal use, but it's still a shame that this is happening though because i was hoping to share my fictional draft classes to the public, but they'll be tainted if i use import other player attributes. The whole point of downloading fictional draft classes is to avoid editing. Oh well.

Ah, this is the ticket. I just tried it and it worked. Nice.

The process: Edit player within draft class editor > Export player DNA > Exit draft class > Open Create a player > Import player DNA from draft class > Edit years pro to 0 > Export player DNA > Open draft class back up > Edit player > Import player DNA > Save.

It's a hassle but i'm glad there's a solution. The show can go on

Monta Ellis won the award his 2nd year. So it has happened before. Just not often.

Toying with the idea of doing a 14 game campaign with no injuries, playing every second, and getting through a great deal of seasons.

Some of the pros I've thought of with this are:

                      - The ability to get through a decade or more without having to grind playing
                      - NBA goes on averages not on cumulative stats, so I don't have as many non-realistic stats to worry about
                      - I can watch teams go through rebuilds, prosperities, peaks, and declines, at least once, maybe more
                      - Dynasties can be formed, continued, or never happen
                      - No injuries means I get everyone at their full strength. It's difficult to follow injuries around the league without totally being invested into other team's business.
                      - Every game counts and a couple hiccups could alter your entire campaign
                      - Competing/tanking decisions have to be made quickly

I'd like to hear some negatives, thanks.

I’ve always done something similar to this. Usually I’ll select the 29-32 game option (varies depending on how many teams you add). As much as I would like to play a full 82 it just takes too much time.

I do the full 82 but I don't play them all. I only play games I feel are important. Tend to play 4-10 regular season games and the playoff elimination games.

It's annoying but at least DNA is still useful with one of these workarounds. I'm almost finished with two personal draft classes so at this point I think changing their ages in the offseason will work the best for me. With that said hopefully someone working for 2K (where you at Davez?) knows about it and patches it eventually.

I'm going to give these a go tonight and will post the results in your thread.

I have a "Staycation" planned so tomorrow's my "Friday" and I'm pretty much ready to start my MyLeague either tomorrow night or Wednesday. I'm will probably run with your contract sliders and Barnsey's progression sliders. From what I've read, both are nice improvements over 2K18 and the great thing is with 2K is that you can pretty much correct or clean up anything at anytime, so I'm not to worried about adjusting things down the line. I can't wait to start.

I do the full 82 but I'm only going to play 10 or so regular season games in full. I'll probably play the first three games, then use my usual method which is sim a full week, then sim with the option to intervene in the 4th quarter, with playing a full game or two a month along the way. I've never played more than 3 or 4 seasons in the past but I'm hoping to get through 5-10 seasons this year.

I think that both 8KB24 and Comduklakis have decent contract sliders. Both are posted in the slider forum.

I haven't really tested them too much myself because I've been focusing on creating my draft classes (and still playing Spider-man) but I like what I'm seeing from them. Of course, there are a few outliers that I would love to see corrected (guys like Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap getting big, multi-year deals) but I'm not sure if those can be corrected without screwing up another part of contracts. If anyone figure that out with keeping the rest of their contracts close to the same, then I'd say that they're almost close to perfect... well, as perfect as the can be anyway.

Thanks jeremym480. I'll work on sliders this week to see if I can eliminate long term contracts for Dwight's of the world. But you never know if someone's gonna give him 4/90 out of desperation since he's still a top tier center regarding rebounding and defense. 2K does a poor job of portraying ****ty personalities. Also does a poor job of stacking positions. Vučević, Cousins and Noel should not sign on same team Don't know if it's fiixeable unless you use 30 team control for trades and contracts
