I've never played more than 3 or 4 seasons in the past but I'm hoping to get through 5-10 seasons this year.
I usually get through about 10-12 each year. I always do a fantasy draft and typically have a good first few seasons. Then, almost inevitably, everything falls apart and I'm in the lottery for several seasons. Usually ends with a good comeback season or two at the main end once I've built through the draft. I always turn trades off and have all teams build through the draft because obviously players tend to stay with the teams that drafted them more often that way and I like that. Easier to keep up with the fictional draft players that way.

I usually never win more than one championship and it's fun too see your team go through both highs and lows and with the trades off I feel like I have a better and more memorable connection with the players I do get on my team. Last year I had Damian Lillard and Deandre Jordan on my team for all 11 seasons Lillard finished 6th all time in 3 point shooting and in the top 30 in all time points. Jordan finished 6th all time in rebounding, 6th all time in games played, and 10th all time in blocks. Loved every second of that team last year and was just starting to really come back with a couple of young players that had developed, my new core being a power forward I had drafted before the 8th season named Marcus Graham. He was a very Tim Duncan like player but could hit the occasional 3. I loved that team and had a very hard time putting an end to it on 2k18 but when Lillard and Jordan both retired at the same time, and it being only about 8 days before I'd have 2k19 I ended it there. One of my all time favorite dynasties I've had.

I've mostly just been fooling around and testing stuff as well as playing Play Now offline but I'm going to be jumping into MyLeague head first in about mid October. Can't wait.

Edit: Won a championship in the 2nd season last year, played 11 seasons total

I haven't really tested them too much myself because I've been focusing on creating my draft classes (and still playing Spider-man) but I like what I'm seeing from them. Of course, there are a few outliers that I would love to see corrected (guys like Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap getting big, multi-year deals) but I'm not sure if those can be corrected without screwing up another part of contracts. If anyone figure that out with keeping the rest of their contracts close to the same, then I'd say that they're almost close to perfect... well, as perfect as the can be anyway.

I'm working on trade and progression sliders now. I find Barnsey's regression to aggressive for my taste. But it's tough to balance IQ because as Barnsey notes in his sliders threads, "IQ" on some things like Pick n' Roll D seems to not just be "smarts" but how well the player plays the PnR. Which is problematic, because as a player gets older they get smarter but obviously physical limitations prop up. For some reason 2k doesn't separate those.

I like to see guys like Ginobili and Duncan get craftier and craftier while losing some athleticism. But I"m struggling to find the balance in 2k.

As for trades, I'm just not sure it's possible to get a set that mimics the NBA. You can come up with trade sliders that keep the AI from doing anything too terrible, but I simply can't seem to find a slider set that gets the AI to actually do rebuilds and salary dumps. Most trades that are offered to my team or from CPU to CPU are player for player deals. And that simply isn't realistic. It's the reverse. Most in season NBA trades are salary dumps and gaining assets and contending teams mortgaging the future to get talent now. I'm just not seeing those types of trades no matter where I place draft pick value or adjust sliders for the various types of teams (rebuild, contending, etc.)

I do like there to be a lot of movement from season to season, but the updated v3 set are a touch less aggressive. And there is a touch more staying power in the peak. Check them out and let me know what you think

Right now my league is unplayable after few seasons the game crash when you start a new season or in a random window and later when you try to load your last save from my league the game says the file is corrupt if you had this problem report to 2k to make them fix it

Easily my favorite way to play. Watching how the league progresses through the years is awesome, especially when you see big booms or busts through the draft that ultimately take a rebuild to the Finals. Playing game at a macro level is much more satisfying, again, for me personally.

I've never considered turning trading off, but that's actually an interesting idea. I dislike seeing the CPU make one sided trades, especially when it comes down to it's lack of understanding what point the franchise is in (rebuilding, growing, or peaking). Even more so, I hate seeing guys who should be franchise guys, get traded.

              Cool beans.

Without specifics of what is wrong and how it can be better, this is not useful feedback.

Is anybody having the issue where really good teams do bad and really bad teams do good when simulating the season? My first season in my league, the Celtics missed the playoffs (Kyrie and Gordon missed 23 games combined) and the Hawks made it to the conference finals and lost in 6 games to the Raptors.

In all honesty, in my mind, in a perfect world for me, trading would be abolished in the real NBA. I think it'd help balance everything out if everyone just built through the draft. I feel like there would definitely be more one franchise players and I always really liked the players that stuck around on one team for their whole career. In that world, if one wanted off a team bad enough, they could simply sign with another team once their contract was up.

Actually think I'm going to do a Player-lock MyLeague. Just ran a game to test it out with Rubio, had so much fun setting up the offense and running in transition. Finished with a near triple-double of 14, 8, and 10. Cuts total game time down, too. Instead of just over an hour, each game would only take roughly 30-40 minutes.

Provides a more sim experience for me. Feel like if I control the whole team, it just gets boring to me steam-rolling teams unless I put on Real Player %, but then I feel like I miss out on actually "playing" the game because I wouldn't have any user input on jumpers

Really leaning toward a Jazz MyLeague with Rubio Player-Lock now

Where do you find other scores around the league in MyLeague? I can't seem to find it.

On the calendar when u go to play a game just choose daily view and it will bring up all the games played on that day, as well as the stats if you click the games that have already been played

Player lock myleague is the best thing I’ve ever done. Have played this way for the last two years. It really keeps things interesting not being able to control everything.

This year more so than ever your teammates are fun to sit back and just watch. I created a PG and put him on the Raptors, watching Kawhi just take over offensively and defensively is mesmerizing. I’m all in, you won’t regret playing this way.

Absolutely, was actually really satisfying when the offense started to sputter, I'd just give Mitchell the ball, call ISO for him, and let him go to work. Feels strangely great not having to control every single thing, just play a role and let the game do its thing because AI seems to be pretty solid this year
