Sac trade Randolph and another expiring contract and gets Hayward and maybe a 1st like Boston's own.
Was thinking more about taking him with my expansion franchise that I'll start once the trade deadline passes. Trade for him once the offseason hits.

If your looking at the offseason then that could be a little more tricky as most teams wont have the 30 million free in cap space. So you might have to take a 10 million salary back which if you did then that would save you the 1st round pick. The teams that aren't going to be a player in FA and aren't obviously trying to tank. A team like the Pacers, Hawks, Trailblazers etc.

Adams is a good player but not what New Orleans for. The picks wouldn't be any good with their new Big 3. Grant is decent but not good enough to move the needle. Abrines is a dime a dozen type SG.

I would say almost every other team in the NBA could beat that offer.

One simple question I always ask myself when making trades is "if the other team was my team would I take that deal?"

So ask youself if you were New Orleans would you take that deal?

Yeah, I actually like Adams a lot, but he's just not enough to beat some of the other offers that are out there. Offers like packages with Zion, Tatum or even the Lakers package. There was also a rumor that the Pel's tried to get a 3-team deal with the Lakers and Washington that netted them Beal and Ingram but Washington wasn't interested in Kuzma, Ball and whatever else would have been in the deal.

Maybe you could find a third team that could get them something more but I'm not sure who or what that would be that could beat the other offers.

I control all 30 teams and want to to figure out a way to get Blake Griffin back in Oklahoma in the offseason. I'm a sucker for doing stuff like moving players to where they played in college, putting brothers on the same team, and trading older players back where they started their careers.

                            1. Whats the Buying/Selling phase for teams? In my mind theres only two phase which is Rebuilding or Contenting? So who is Buying/Selling and what are their goals?

Rebuilding - looking for draft picks and young players.
Selling - looking for draft picks and expiring/cheap contracts to shed cap space.
Buying - good squad but not enough, looking to add for a deep playoff run.
Contending - great squad that doesnt need anything to win a championship.

                            2. Lets say I'm Cav in November2018. What would be realistic rebuilding phase?

Cavs in November would be rebuilding. They will prioritize draft picks and young players, but might also go for expiring contracts to shed cap space.

                            3. What are Pheonix Suns doing? On paper they got pretty good young line-up but no where near competing? So what are they trying to accomplish 2018-2019 season? Are they rebuilding or developing?

Right now the Suns are rebuilding, but not far off from buying. They have a young squad that cant add without giving up assets, so they'll be building assets for a couple more seasons before making a playoff run.

                            4. What are San Antonia Spurs goal with this line-up?

The Spurs are buying. They have a good squad but they know its not enough as-is to get past Golden State and Houston, so they're buyers in the trade market to build up a better team.
Assets = anything of value (ex. draft picks, young talent, cap-friendly contracts)

If a team is in limbo aka not in a great position to be buyers but too good to be rebuilding or selling, put them in contender mode so that they sit until their position is clear.

Just saw on RealGM the potential offer from Boston to New Orleans is Tatum, Horford, Smart, Robert Williams and up to 3 first round picks for Anthony Davis.

Looking for some advice on this potential trade. Halfway through season 2 currently, signed KD and Kyrie and drafted Zion (one can dream).

Knicks (me) receive - Jusuf Nurkic (Blazers have him on the block)

Blazers receive - Buddy Hield, Frank Ntilikina, 2020 1st round pick, 2021 1st round.

Too much? Not enough? I also have another 2021 pick, Trier, Knox, Saric and Harry Giles who I’d be willing to let go.
