Re: Official MyGM / MyLEAGUE / MLO 2K20 Wish List

The draft classes are so broken and buggy that it's actually harder to set up a historical MyLeague than it ever has been.

Yes we have "historical draft classes", but they have maybe 5-6 players each in many cases, the players come into the league at random ages, and they very rarely even register as rookies because their Years Pro is never 0, always a random number.

I really don't want to seem ungrateful as it was a fabulous idea, it just was done about as poorly as it possibly could have been. It's like you advertised a hamburger and trotted out a live cow and a handgun.

I bought the game day 1 based on Erick Boenisch's blog, it was my first purchase since 2k13, and I have to say, I really regret buying the game. Had I known how broken this feature was, I would have waited another year at least.

Just fixing the terrible, game breaking age glitch would be a huge step in the right direction. I would buy 2k every year if I knew that MyLeague actually got work.

Re: Official MyGM / MyLEAGUE / MLO 2K20 Wish List

I'd like the option to add the owner personalities from MyGM to ML. Maybe even edit the names and heads. It would give the teams a little more personality. Another thing from MyGM I'd like are the staff and coach badges.

Coaches: I think coaches should matter more. I hired Sam Cassell as the HC of the Suns. I edited him to match Doc Rivers' profile, but with lower offense and defense. I'd like the mentor badge feature that applies to players apply to coaches. Also, there are too many great game generated assistant and head coaches. It makes it so that the few real life assistant coaches never get their shot. I'm fine with the game generated coaches, I'd just like to see them pay their dues like the Sam Cassells and Ron Adams'. Say Lucas Lucas is Brad Stevens's assistant for 4 years while the Celtics run the East and maybe capture a title. He'd be a hot HC candidate at that point. Plus he would bring Steven's system and style with him. I just want some build up.

GLeague: This is a wishlist, right? Leftos gave us the skinny on the possibility of the Gleague returning in playable form. I get it. But playing with the Gleague teams (those announcers are great!) in MyCareer really has me wanting to play the games again. The teams are there already. Now so are a few arenas (which don't have to be real) as well as commentators. Why not just bring it on home. If not, then at least let us sort through the team rosters and view stats and stuff.

Tendencies: I think somebody else mentioned it, but I'd like to see shot and touch tendencies adjust each year. Like, Klay Thompson is the man in Chicago now in my ML. But he only averaged 18 PPG because of his tendencies ( I edited them up once I realized the issue).

More Customization Options to Begin MyLeague
I think most of these are options following rule changes in the offseason, but it would be great if we could choose:
        - Whether we want the Finals to be 2-3-2 or 2-2-1-1-1
        - Whether we want the All-Star Game to be a draft or East VS Wet
        - Whether we want it to be Rookie vs. Sophomore or World Game
        - Whether we want the shot clock to reset to :14 or :24 after a rebound

Before we begin a MyLeague, especially for people who like to play with classic rosters.

        Improved Sim Engine
Sim engine that produces stats that almost mirror the NBA due to correct tendencies/attributes etc. Someone always implements it after the game comes out, would be nice to have it out of the box.

        Schedule Logic
After the first season, MyLeague schedules always seem to go random. I've always wanted to see some sort of algorithm implemented that would have the defending champs always playing on opening night/Christmas at home, and the highest rated teams or playoff teams from last year playing on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday and event days like XMas/MLK

        Improved Summer League
I forgot to double-check if this was implemented this year, but sometimes in Summer League of 2K17 I know you'd get a guy like Darren Collison playing just because he didn't get signed in FA. It would be great if Summer League was just restricted to rookies and 2nd year guys, maybe the rest are generated FAs?

        Lineup Logic
Coaches being able to split minutes correctly, change lineups to begin starting a rookie, or tank, bench starters in a blowout, give players rest days after they clinch a playoff spot etc.

        Fake International Tournaments
Have a qualifier for the world World Finals (couldn't think of a better fake name lol) every 2 offseasons. You can pick who coaches the USA team and what players are on the team and then you go through a mini-tournament. Every 4 offseasons you have the World Finals and can do the same thing. Even if this was just text-based and you make the selections, but can't play any games, it would be cool to have for immersion purposes.

        Alternate Uniform/Alternate Courts Slots
For those of us that don't want to do full rebrands, allow us to create alternate jerseys for teams and download them from others as well. Maybe even allow us to attach alternate court designs to them if we'd like?

        All-Star Game Customization
We may be able to do this already, but if not, picking who plays in the 3pt contest and dunk contests just increases immersion.

        True Training Camp/Preseason
Preseason where you can play all of your guys on the roster (no IR unless there's an injury), you make cuts after the games.

        Implementation of International Games
Preseason games in China and Japan, regular season games in London/Mexico City etc.

        Playable G-League
If not, at least improve sim stats, guys should be balling out there, but I think I usually see the scoring leader average around 18 PPG

        Increased Media Integration
I think the dream for everyone is a highlights show that maybe has a game preview at the end. Fake media days/player interviews/promos popping up on some sort of main page (maybe bring back NBA.com) would be awesome too.

Re: Official MyGM / MyLEAGUE / MLO 2K20 Wish List

          1) Teams shouldn't be trading for players at a position that they're already set at. For example the Pistons once traded Blake Griffin for Hassan Whiteside. Detroit obviously already has Drummond. Another time the Grizzlies traded Conley for Whiteside.

          2) Rebuilding teams shouldn't be targeting superstar players in free agency. It's always annoying when someone like KD decides to sign with the Hawks.

          3) Teams targeting certain types of players. For example, when the Rockets lost Trevor Ariza in free-agency, they were looking to trade for or sign a 3-and-D wing.

          4) Sign-and-trades

          5) New rule changes:
          - Adding a 4-point line

          6) 4 team trades

          7) For start-in-offseason, I think there should be an option to use the real life draft order. It just kind of annoys me when the team with the worst odds at the number one pick ends up with it.

          8) Bring back the NBA.com page

          9) It would be cool if we could use park moves/dunks in the all star game. (credit to melo627 for the idea)

          10) Not really a big deal, but it would be cool if we could customize suits again in MyGM.

Idk if this is technically related to MyLeague, but I'd like to see more injury options added this year. Meaning names of injuries.

I would suggest moving the Player Progression screen back to before free agency and the draft. As players get older and teams add more veterans, it's difficult to plan on building a team without seeing exactly how age/injury/season performance affects a player.

Putting this screen before the draft -- perhaps after player retirement -- would allow users to better build their teams and plan ahead, instead of guessing which players would decline. I realize that this is an intentional design choice, perhaps to better mimic a real front office's debate on certain players, but I feel like it adds a layer of immersion that's just stressful, not fun.
I disagree with this personally. Players put in their work in the offseason (after FA/draft). The uncertainty of not knowing how good/bad the players will be next season is part of the GM experience imo. Players getting good straight after playoffs would be unrealistic. Also, being able to have foresight on progression/regression is part of what makes you a good GM.

Imo player progression should be shown at or before training camp

Totally fair assessment -- it's an intentional design choice on 2K's part, probably for reasons you mention. There are just some things I feel a video game doesn't need to replicate and the stress of trying to anticipate declines/progression for all 30 teams rosters (and free agents!) isn't fun for me, lol.

Admittedly, the workaround I have for this is to just save the offseason into a different slot, fast forward to the progression screen, and see what changes are made, but being able to reference it within the same save file before free agency and the draft would make my life easier.

It's a wishlist thread after all.

How about a league that actually works?

You know, in-season contract extensions, being able to customize playbooks, being able to use your full timeout without the game disconnecting

                  You know, basic stuff

                    Home court advantage mechanic.

                    1. Individual player attributes in specific areas adjusted for home and road. The 4 areas are shooting, passing and rebounding. Each relevant attribute is increased or decreased for home and road games based on how the players stat performance fluctuates. Maxes of +3/-3.

For example player A shoots 44% from 3 at home and 32% on the road. That is a large fluctuation, so he gets a +3 to his base 3 point shooting on home games and a -3 for road games. Player b shoots 37% on 3s at home and 37% on 3s on the road. No fluctuation so no change to base attributes.

This +3/-3 scale also applies to passing and rebounding.

                    Increased season fatigue

Make this so it's more impactful. Make it so we're seeing Gatorade bottles on players in the 1st quarter of a 4th game in 5 nights, or even a back to back.

The Home Court advantage is a great idea, but I think it should also be influenced by what team is the home team. The home effects shouldnt change because playing at home is playing at home, but playing on the road in Oracle or TD Garden is so much different than playing on the road in Orlando or Atlanta. Combine that with an increase in season fatigue and every game will play differently.

                        I am a basketball junkie.

                        I am not a cut-scene junkie.

I would like MyLeague basketball without filler or spam.

Currently, game-play animations and AI get 50% of the in-game display. Immersion/cut-scene animations and AI get 50% as well. Using this logic in basketball terms: LeBron would only take 10 shots per game. No basketball fan wants that. Game-play should be the first option in the development team's offense; cut-scenes should be the fifth option scoring on offensive rebounds and the secondary break. Teams built around fifth options are inefficient and not fun to watch or play with.

There are timeout cut-scenes; cheerleader cut-scenes; and zooms on players/coaches doing nothing cut-scenes. Each of these scenes has maybe 3 scripted outcomes, yet the development team spams them over and over so that 50% of play-time is watching a tech-demo masquerading as immersion. Meanwhile, game-play has thousands of animations being wasted because we have to watch the spam crap 50% of the time.

Spam is usually not good, and it does not create immersion.

I love 48-minute basketball games, especially when I'm getting to know new players on the squad after the draft and free agency. Zooming on the same three officials; same cheerleaders; same half-time circus acts; doesn't contribute to my basketball experience.

It seemed in 2K8 I could play a 48-minute game in 60-minutes with all the cut-scenes. Now, a quarter easily takes 20-minutes. I noticed recently ShadyMike put a YouTube up about his sliders; he displayed a 12-minute sample quarter. The video was 23-minutes long. That means a game takes 80-90 minutes. I used to love unwinding in the evening by playing a game in an hour. Now, I start a game before bed and then have to wait to complete it the next day.

As a basketball junkie, sitting and watching the screen display things I have no control over is not fun especially when those things take up half of my play-time. Perhaps if I controlled the bicycle-man or the trampoline-men in a mini-game that would give my team bonus Awareness or Shooting, then it might make sense... I'm being facetious... it doesn't make sense because it's not basketball. It's Cirque du Soleil.

Anything outside of court-action should not get a full-screen or zoom-in for detail: None of it is interesting or varied enough to warrant this kind of attention.

48-minutes is long; 82 game seasons are long; it should not take twice as long in real-world time to get basketball results. This is a game meant to entertain. It should not be a grind I have to endure.

I can relate to the MyPlayer people who did not want to go through all that hammy acting and cinematography just to create a second or third player. This is that times 2... then multiply that by 82.

Scripting is never fun anywhere in a video game.

How about using the 80/20 rule? 80% game-play, 20% cut-scenes. A 12-minute quarter would complete in 15-minutes, and there would be adequate time for the tech-demo to play-out.

After all... the people want to see LeBron not Jevale McGee.

How about using the 80/20 rule? 80% game-play, 20% cut-scenes. A 12-minute quarter would complete in 15-minutes, and there would be adequate time for the tech-demo to play-out.

After all... the people want to see LeBron not Jevale McGee.
Just press the x/a button. If you want quick gameplay, go into settings and set the replays and camera cut options to never and turn game speed to 100. Problem solved.

Something tells me you dont like watching games live either. You know, with the halftime show, all the stat overlays and all the timeouts.

My biggest wish of all, and perhaps a cheeky one: please hire me, or anyone in this thread, as a tester for MyLeague / MyGM. Allow bugs and issues to be caught before it gets released.

Some of the issues that we have to deal with every release day seem really obvious, and it gives us the impression that either nobody tests it or the people testing it aren't going deep enough.

Another one for playable GLeague. And give back ability to edit things like add/remove headbands and adjust length of shorts(with short shorts making a comeback).

-Adding some sliders that influence simulated stats would be pretty cool.
First thing i would do is raise FTA's, and maybe lower something that affects the FG% too.

                                Edit: Another 2 wishes...
-It'd be cool to get more insight into WHY a player's morale is up or down. Most of the time you have to guess. The player's 'thoughts' tab isn't very telling.

-Also would be cool to have a slider that increases the likelihood of a team trading a player with low morale. Teams don't seem to take any action of disgruntled players. Would like to be able to alter that myself.
