The number one thing I want fixed is the AI’s ability/inability to defend the Pick and Roll. The middle PnR is defended too well as the CPU can give a hard hedge with no help on the roll man, and the Hedge man is able to defend both players as 2K can’t seem to program an overhead pass properly and the pass goes straight into the defense, despite the roll man being essentially wide open.
On a PnR towards the baseline, the CPU just falls asleep and does nothing. Allowing a good shooter to pull up for an easy jump shot.
That’s really all that has been an annoyance so far for me. CPU defense is way OP but can sort of be minimized with slider settings.Comment

I absolutely have played basketball and quite a bit of it.
Have you?
If you know anything about basketball you would know that it’s a non-contact sport. Meaning, you are not allowed to make contact with the opposing team or a foul will be called.
In recent years they have changed the label from non-contact to limited contact, meaning some contact, such as bodying up someone in the post or crowding a ball handler, is allowed, but contact still draws fouls. Limited contact is allowed but excessive contact is a foul.
So stop reading all you like, but just because you choose to not read doesn’t change the facts or the rules.

Here again, I can't stress enough how the good timing = reward, bad timing = neutral outcome model has to be revised. Timing matters when we shoot, pass and even rebound. It has to matter on blocks and steals, gameplay has to stop rewarding spam. Noel bites on multiple pumpfakes here and should be whistled or be punished with terrible defensive position...but he stays in perfect defensive position and gets a block? He can't FAIL and then keep a textbook defensive stance. Users have to RISK something if they want the REWARD of a block or steal. They simply don't get to spam until their timing is good.

How the lack of emphasis on block timing effects shooters (quite possibly the biggest issue) is exposed in the last part of the clip above. George misses a steal but nope, he doesn't lunge out of the play...no sir then he races back to block Redick's shot and leaps before the shot is even attempted but nothing happens. Thats the worse kind of SPAM. Imagine a Madden game where you go for the big HIT STICK miss and then recover to make the tackle to prevent a TD.
That's broken H2H balance. If gameplay doen't reward countering the other user there's really no reason to play.
Block Timing has to matter: We need to see this CONSISTENTLY when guys mistime block attempts and jump before the ball is even released.

Here's an example of the Risk/Reward we need to see...the user tries to go for a steal MISSES and lunges out of defensive position. This is too rare and its something we need to see this or a foul EVERY TIME users miss. There has to be a downside for FAILURE. The sad part is if he'd used R-stick steal he could have spammed endlessly.

For myGM/myLeague heads: If system Proficiency impacts ratings once a player is acquired, we shouldn’t have to guess if a player we want to trade for/drafting will fit the system we have activated. The system fit star rating that is in free agency should be available for trade menus and scouting menus.Comment

It's funny because I think they had the bad timing/out if position fouls last year when they first released the game. But then it got patched out. Probably because of complaints.
I might be misremembering though. Lol

This probably has been mentioned, but Im not going thru every page to find out, aint got time right now, but after seeing how this last patch didnt fix the issue, I figure I better post the issue here as well.
Its very simple, fix the lack of freaking fouls in this game. The only fouls being called are reaches, and shooting fouls inside the paint.
Its very rare but occassionally you will see a loose ball, or over the back foul, but not enough, and I play full 12 minute qtrs only.
Its even rarer to see charges, and even blocking fouls, and while this game has always had some issue with the lack of charges, the lack of blocking fouls hasnt been a issue until 19.
Its also very rare to see a foul on a 3pt attempt. Now days in the NBA, you see fouls on 3pt attempts being called in basically every game. Its no longer a rare foul. This was broken last yr as well.
Its really basically lying to call this game a NBA simulation, when the game doesnt call any fouls except for reaches, or shots in the paint.
NBA2k19, has a lot to like, but this lack of fouls issue is ruining the game, to the point of if its not fixed, in 19, I will not be buying NBA2k20 day until I see everything that wrong with it, and if those issue get fixed.

Off to top of my head my important list would be as below.
+ More risk reward factors on steal and block attempts. Blocking for a shooting especially there in shooting should be more foul outcomes if timed bad no matter early or late, foul period, you shouldn't be able to spam triangle to get a great contest with bad input timing.Now it's off of risk/reward. Same applies to stealing take a look at Live, if i press and miss timed there should be a clear risk/reward distrubution.
+ Hands down mans down. It was great 2k19 at launch, you should have cover your ground get a good position to react and play to the poison, you can'T cover every inches all the time which you can atm after patch4 so, make it back and if possible make it better and improve over that,too.
+ Rebounding battles has to play more organic, it's better than previous 2ks yet there is too much to improve upon.
+ There has something happened to transition over the course of 2k19, i don't know what but it doesn't feel right as of now on both defensen/offense.
+ Space the floor should be back or something similar to that.
+ Let us set our freelance/series in coaching gameplan menus under MyLeague Off/Online
+ This one is a big beast because i have so many experience that i've had over the last 4 years on this gen consoles which where we have to connect to servers all the time online/offline. The gameplay general is different and feels different on each server or different isps. Believe me most of the bugs or stuff you hear about especially gameplay from users(such as we heard slow hands up animation that's why now everything is lightly contested) are because of the servers or their isp. The gameplay Movements are Highly affected by these server/isp issues. I can confirm that different servers/isps makes you feel like you're playing a very very different game. This issue is bigger than 2k yet i know that there can be improvements on their side.Comment

I'm actually surprised that charges haven't been properly incorporated into the game yet. I think making that a viable option defensively would add a welcomed element to the game both online and offline.

It was in an offline USER vs USER game, my CPU teammate Horford (Celtics) drew a charge on Westbrook.
When I try to take a charge myself, it's like matador defense, the defender seems to take a step to the side before he tries to take the charge.Comment

Don't know if i'm too late but i'd like to see more stat overlays and things show on the screen that express the storyline of the game.
I'd also like to see more replays during stoppages. The game is so beautiful and it's bizarre that there aren't more replays. I have it set to "Often" but i don't see it often at all.Comment
