      ballhandlers shouldnt switch hands when idle......

      maybe the ball shouldnt even switch hands with left stick at all?

          Stop with the User Agency gone Amok. It hampers gameplay so much...too much emphasis on UA has been to the game's detriment. keep in mind there are TWO users and rewarding someone for pressing the buttons has never made sense. The game shouldn't be rewarding guarding the ball in the back-court by Nerlens Noel, spamming steal with DeAndre after a rebound or trying to block shots with Marcus Smart--but it does....and its because the user does it. We have ratings for a reason...we still want sim gameplay in the competitive setting--hell, especially there.

          Stop rewarding users for bad decisions that ignore player skill-set--its the reason we're still having so many problems with stealing and why inbound steals are a thing--because ratings are too often ignored relative to rewarding user actions.

          Over-rewarding User Agency is the reason for so much bad gameplay--like this ridiculous strip from BEHIND on a chase-down:

          The same way we don't want to see CP3 dunking from the FT line or Dwight Howard doing dribble moves we want limits to User Agency based on ratings. These instances should go from "super rare" to "no chance of it happening".

            My feeling is that there is a standard number for all MyPlayers.

            Also that smaller players get a faster/higher number.

            I don't think a Pure Sharp gets a higher Shot IQ than say a Lockdown Defender at the same height.

              A few clips of the over-rewarding of User Agency i'm talking about:

              1st clip: This guy mistimes a block on Embiid's shot which should have either been an opportunity for an AndOne or taken him out of the play--letting him keep perfect position and get a quick second jump is poor H2H balance.

              If there are better examples of blocking fouls I haven't seen them (but because its the user its two bump steals by Tatum) [emoji849] this kinda thing has to be an automatic whistle in 2K20.

                  I have thought over some of my suggestions and I think what the game really needs is

                  A seperate contest system for inside and outside.

                  We need the high contest sensitivity on the perimeter if the Green Window remains and shooting remains the same especially in online game modes.

                  But we also need the ability to lower this sensitivity off-line with the sliders.


                  We need lower contest sensitivity on the inside especially for smaller players. I know Terry Rozier blocked Embiid in the opener but that opportunity must be extremely hard to time and pull off in the game.

                  We need a better movement system. Wraps(forcing off-ball defenders to pick up the ball-handler when chasing a shooter around a ball-handler which leaves a shooter open) should not be in the game. The off-ball movement/momentum animations for a defender should not stop if he comes in contact with a ball-handler especially for the great defenders.

                  The screening system needs work.

                  1.Particularly the orientation of off-ball screens. It is hard for a user to really set their direction for an off-ball screen especially in comparison to the CPU. You barely see off-ball screens in the game because you can't even position yourself properly to set them. This means the only way users can really use the Brick Wall is on-ball. I would say the need to map orientation of screens(after you press the B or Circle button) to the right stick if a user presses the button.

                  2. There needs to be more dynamic screen animations for defenders. A defender should be able to put his hands up while in a screen animation(most especially the better defenders). It shouldn't register as a contest unless this actively triggers. This would allieviate the SharpShooter meta.

                    The only thing I’m worried about improving is the gameplay and here is what I got.

                    Put in a me mechinism to better get around screen like pressing a button at the right time. With the current you can’t go through or around screens. If I go around them I get magnetically pulled into the ball handler chasing my man around or if I ran into the screen I just run in place like I’m on a treadmill and this help greatly against the pure sharp cheesers. If you have the pick dodger badge give them give them a higher successes rate to get around them.

                    Improve the layups. In this game you have better chance at making a contested deep 3 pointer then making a layup. In the NBA their are plenty of guys that if they are 1 on 1 or have a favorable matchup they will make more then they miss on layups.

                    Improve the post play this one goes with the layup mechanics. If I have a pure post scorer I should be able to have high FG % when under basket when having a favorable matchup and just like with layups you have a better chance evat hitting a contested 3 then scoring a guard wth a big man post scorer.

                    Fix the steal mechanics. Their is not a lot of risk and reward when spamming the steal button. NBA live has this one right if you press the steal button at the right time your man is going to blow right past you or you will get a foul with the current system you just spam the steal button and knock the ball out at high rate with hardly any risks involved.

                    Tone down the sharps they hit almost everything contested and they can D you with the current steal mechanics. They should be able to run the flor in transition so effectively. This sharps are the worst about 2k19.

                    Bring back being able to shoot around around waiting for players to fill out the team in rec/walk on we’re stuck staring at a loading for a long time. Atleast if we can shoot around it would be less boring and give us something to do.

                        The defensive match ups when you're playing the CPU need work, for example when you're playing with the 76ers (user) vs Celtics (cpu) no way Kyrie should be guarding Simmons, the CPU will start double teaming instead of putting Jaylen Brown on Simmons and Kyrie on Fultz, better defensive match ups will decrease the CPU double teaming.
                        I would also like to be able to adjust my defensive match ups on the fly, for example when a guy is in foul trouble or his matchup is substituted.

                          DEFENSIVE PLAYER MOVEMENT AND OTHER THINGS

                          -I feel that the movement of the defense, offball defenders specifically, needs to be addressed next year. It seems unfair that the offense is able to maneuver, twist, etc. in all different types of angles while the offball defenders are forced to face the other baseline. With the introduction of the offball reads that the offense can make it would make sense to have the defender angle their bodies better to be able to defend such cuts,

                          Also more chest to chest interactions need to be added in the paint. Good onball paint/lowpost defense is about making the offensive player having to score through your chest. the general rule is, if you give a good player an angle he'll score more times than not.

                          Well currently in 2k there is no way to offer enough resistance to the offense once they have the ball in the paint. You are at the mercy as they just back you down or slide right off of you for easy layups. If you hold your hands up as a defender you lose all contact with the offensive player. "walling up" is a concept taught across the world for effective paint defense and it is absent currently in 2k. There needs to hundreds of more standing contact layup/hook shot animations added to the game.

                          This would help with bigs in pro-am/park thinking they are getting screwed as well. The bigs think they should make all of there layups because many times there is no contact until a guy releases the ball in 2K.


                          -Make the off ball defense react to cutters BEFORE they have the ball. As it is now the only time the defense reacts to cutter is when a layup animation triggers.

                          -allow big men to rotate in help defense. currently only the 1-3 defenders rotate to help on the default defense settings. unless i change for every team for every game then i will see the same defense.

                          -This is a big one. please please take on ball pressure when passing the ball next year. especially when passing downhill (ie behind your defender). this would help people learn to use the bounce pass and in turn have bounce passing reworked

                          -transition D...what else needs to be said. has been the same for 3-4 years and is completely broken. there is no reason why the defense should be running to pre-designated spots on the court (all it shows is how tethered defensive player positioning is tethered to the movement of the offense)

                          -make it so that every defender has to be assigned to an offensive player 100% of the time. this leads to a lot of those funky situations of the defense leaving the rim wide open (especially in pick and pop situations). in real life sometimes a defender has to defend a certain space on the court mainly in order to prevent a drive to the rim. Many levels need to be added to the defense logic

                          - add more a pick and roll on ball iq rating and a pick and roll hedge defender iq rating. guarantee you that rudy gobert would be 100x less effective if you tasked him to be the on ball defender in pick and roll situations

                          -teach the ai how to defend using angles. the cpu's first step is always forward when you make a move to get pass it. the complete opposite of what it should be doing.

                          -the ai has no idea how to react if you flip the side of the ball screen. logic needs to be added here.

                          - stop with the strong side tags on pick and roll. you never leave your man to go tag the roll guy if the ball screen action is coming towards you.

                            I know they're working on a method to let us know when a switch has taken place. This really needs to be cleared up. So often the CPU defender will pick up his original assignment and it's an open dunk.

                              The switching is a tricky one. I've found going the no hedge helps reduce the amount of confusion among your AI teammates, but it's far from automatic as you see in the league.

                              Czar said to make sure a proper screen has been set before committing to the switch, but screens are set, defenders run into them and the confusion still happens.

                              Sometimes the who to guard arrow is pointing at the guy Ive switched on to. So that's good. Then his original defender will come across after leaving his guy.

                              It's probably user error because the AI teams don't have this problem, but I don't know what Im doing wrong.

                              This needs to be a focus considering every team switches at least some of the timie.

                                Don't know if i'm too late or not, but really hoping for a revamped replay system next year. One of my favourite things to do at the end of a game is go into the boxscore and watch the highlight reels of players. But the highlights don't look right. It's kinda nauseating. You can't see what's going on. The highlights are too short, you see the release of the shot but you don't see what created it. The camera is too rigidly locked to the ball rather than the play.


                                My suggestion is to zoom the camera out a little bit, lengthen the highlights to include shot creation. Lock the camera to the play or player rather than the ball. If it must be locked to the ball, at least make it so we can see what's happening with the player. E.g. The camera doesn't need to bounce up and down along with the ball as a player is dribbling. That has been there for like 10 years and it's time to change it. And if there's a way to make the game recognise what constitutes an interesting highlight and what doesn't then please do that. I.e. it would be cool to see highlights of fancy passes into a backdoor cut, or like a score that came from 3 quick passes / hockey assist type plays. Sweet layups and dunks should be in there too obviously. And blocks. And nice moves where the player makes a dribble move into a pullup jumper, or a fadeaway post shot. Things like that. Right now you only see the release of the shot so it feels like the beautiful animations in the game are wasted.
