I am used to them now but I still prefer how they were years ago. Green wasn’t a 100% make. So you still had to check to see if it was going in. I feel those animations and things you speak of should only happen if the player greens while being hot. Just because you feel its good in real life doesn’t mean it 100% is. Ask Kemba or Nick Young.

It’s no going back now though because people would be going crazy on Twitter if they start missing some greens. So I am cool with it but this everyone can see your release stuff is silly.

      0. But I do like the idea of everyone seeing the shooter's shooting settings. Hopefully, that will cause people to play without the meter. This brings a cost benefit to your shooting settings. Now if you plan on using the meter you are giving the def an advantage to know your makes and misses as you release the shot.

Hopefully, those screens are truly less grabby. That way Pick Dodger actually works. Read that they have quick screens not just hard screens. If true, finally. Most NBA players don't set hard screens. Most do it just for the switch or just screen enough just to get free. Screens has been an issue for me for years. Playing lockdown defense should be easier and hopefully leads to teammates not getting so stuck on screens. Either lead to open drive or open shot.

Wang said the shooting would be more challenging in 2k19 and it's a straight 3 point slug fest. I'll believe it when I see it. If your shot meter bounces back or you long arm your release (release too early) it should be a miss majority of the time.

On paper there seems to be improvements but it ultimately comes down to execution. Make it happen 2k.

Now everyone else is going to see that I never get green releases

Seriously though, I hate that we went from having green releases at all, which I already hated, to now emphasizing it even more. I've never felt more like I'm not the demographic 2K is targeting than I did after reading that.

He clarified that "Layups had one set of bonuses and penalties, and shots had their set. It was never a sliding scale based on distance... probably should have been though."

Well damn...I was actually thinking 80% - 85% was a fair "percentage", lol. I'm not sure if people understand how "low" 70% is. To me, that's a hard closeout from a defender on 3PT shooter. I would think most mid-range shots would easily be a 70%.

BTW...this is another NBA Live idea that they stole. Well, they're just putting the nails in the coffin on the NBA Live series, because they're shamelessly taking their good ideas, lol.

A lot of people are saying your teammates should see it but even they shouldn’t be able to see it. Super silly that nobody will go for a rebound because we all know it’s going in. How silly is this?

Game winners would be less exciting. Someone shoots a green GW and while the shot is in the air everyone knows it’s good. Someone shoots a very bad release and everyone knows that as well. Just a very very silly decision by Mike.

We might need a dedicated MyPark/MyProAm player to speak on this, but...what's the benefit of seeing each other's shot meter besides the obvious of not bothering to crash the board for a rebound? When I played the mode, I never thought to myself "Geez, I wish that I could see my teammates' shot meter.".

I wonder if this feature will carry over to PNO?

I don't know if it was a serious comment or not, but when Wang originally tweeted about it, he specifically said something along the lines of it being done so that people can't lie about green releases anymore lol

Lol...wow. That's one hell of a reason. I guess I don't know what it feels like to have a teammate to lie on their greens. I presume this is the equivalent of "friendly fire" in FPS games? Nothing worse playing a FPS game and having a teammate who thinks it's funny to kill his own teammates, because "It's just a video game".

I disagree with this, solely from a realism standpoint. There are plenty of times in real life when players change up their shot, whether it's due to a defender closing out or the shot clock expiring.

The issue is that all of the aspects that go into a shot are not replicated in the game. With what you're saying here, you can either choose to let the full shooting animation play out and get blocked or release early and miss anyway; there's no way to account for other adjustments when you know you need to get the shot off quicker.

Now I am even more sure I´ll be a defensive center this year, imagine when these kids start raging because you didn´t green a shot. Really a terrible decision, "no more lying about greens", are you kidding me.
