1st step to killing something is to emphasize how bogus it is. Since people want to hunt for greens and use the shot meter as a way to put up astronomical 3 point accuracy, please make it available for everyone to see. I promise it will cause less folks to use the meter.

I am 1000 percent in agreement with this decision. People want to shoot in secrecy. Ha. No sir.

A lot of people are saying your teammates should see it but even they shouldn’t be able to see it. Super silly that nobody will go for a rebound because we all know it’s going in. How silly is this?

Game winners would be less exciting. Someone shoots a green GW and while the shot is in the air everyone knows it’s good. Someone shoots a very bad release and everyone knows that as well. Just a very very silly decision by Mike.

I agree, makes no sense to me either. It makes it very video gamish. So now it changes how you play defense or go for rebounds or not. Another case of a game displaying too much unecessary information on the screen.

        I don't get it.

And now that puts people that don't use the meter at a disadvantage. Your opponent know before you do if you're likely to make the shot or not or if you're guaranted to make it. How wierd is that lol. What's even the point of showing it anyway? What benefits?

I'll mostly play offline anyway but I don't agree with that design. What am I missing here Rob?

Imagine this, you're guarding a guy, he greens it, Once you see it you run with the guy that was guarding the shooter to the other side off the court. Inball, long pass, bucket :P

Greens were a mistake but it seems like it's getting worse.

Nah. vni. If you dont use it they wont see it. They only see what you see.

          1. I hate greens. Worst addition ever.
          2. I hate the shot meter. 2nd worst addition ever.
          3. I think the release should be good or bad. If you release late it should be short rim. If you release early it should be long.
          4. If people want to use the "arcade" shot meter then everyone should be able to see it.
          5. Hopefully, now that your meter is on full display it will discourage people from using it.
          6. Why should the shooter be the only one who knows that his shot is going in?

Yep. So if you dont want people to know if your shot is going in. Turn off the meter. Ha. Its a slick way of hating on greens. I find it clever. Ha

I must be dense as hell to this idea, lol. I barely played MyCareer this year (really liking PNO despite gameplay flaws), but I might jump into MyCareer this year with a headset just to hear the toxicity of the comments that this change will spurn.

I wa assuming this is all online play modes. All i play is myleague and Play now friends. My take is that when playing online, everyone can see your shooting settings. I like to play with all the options off. Is this MyCareer specific?

I most likely woudnt use the option to see the other guy releases on my screen even if he was using the meter but I like the idea. I know most people will though and thats good, now people will think twice before turning it on.

I never understood why people used it in my player type mode anyway, you only have one release to master.

Occasionally when playing with different teams I would turn it on but thats about it.

                      Def a good addition.

I presumed it was MyCareer specific. I couldn't see this being a "benefit" in the PNO mode. However, if it's in ALL online modes (PNO/MyTeam/MyPark/ProAm), this change will definitely fall in my "I'll have to see it action" category.

Will this finally be the year of small ball? 2K has been trapped in the 80s as far as the benefit of height vs. Speed.

Even if you don't use a shot meter, it still shows when you green a release. People will still know whether or not you greened a shot if you don't have the meter turned on. The only difference is that if the meter is turned off, they won't be able to tell if you really butchered it or if it was close to a green.
