The problem I have with Live's system is only equiping 3 traits each game. I always felt that number is too low. I understand if you want to limit the number of badges available to a player each game, but at least have it like 2k14 where you get at least 7. If I grind for these badges, then I want most of them available. Thats just me.

Damn...guess I'm stopping at gold this year. Once myplayer reaches 90 I'm usually move on to other games and it's been like that since they introduced myplayer. No way I'm grinding to 95 lolComment

Re: Mike Wang tweets about 2K20
Mike's latest tweets confirmed to me that we know 80-85% of the new badge system. There will be a ton of badges available, seems like we'll have a lot of discretion on which ones we want, but we'll most likely only be able to equip a limited amount of badges at once (Mike noted that we "equip" badges and they removed badges that people wouldn't want such as charge card and free throw ace).
The remaining question becomes how do they "limit" the amount of badges that we can equip at once. My guess is that they're adopting and adapting the NBA Live system. I'm not fully versed on the system as I only played the game a little. But as it pertained to badges, after you unlocked them, you could equip them to your player to receive the boost and start levelling them up. As your player became higher rated, you opened up more badge slots and possibly some slightly more impressive badges.
It's a decent system that would allow us some freedom to craft our characters as we see fit. But I think there are some better ideas out there and it will be interesting to see where they ultimately take it.Comment

All these badges just makes me realize that this year may be really heavy on the animations.Comment

Re: Mike Wang tweets about 2K20
Like having 95 block and pogo stick on HOF you can literally just hop around the court and swat everything lol
maybe they should include the need to have certain rating combinations to get certain badges - like vertical and block for pogo stick
or stamina and ball handling for the handles for days, etc.
which if balanced correctly should mean that if you want to have a dude with endless handles, you will have to sacrifice finishing, shooting, passing, or athleticism to have max handles and staminaComment

Re: Mike Wang tweets about 2K20
I feel like it's doubtful that badge progression is tied that closely to ratings.
To me, it feels like ratings are going to be ratings, and the badges will be selectable "perks" to help further refine your play style.NBA: Wizards

Re: Mike Wang tweets about 2K20
I agree. There would be no point of badges if they were that closely related to ratings. I think the purpose is to unlock animations that without tying it to a ratingComment
