Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here

If it's one thing I absolutely hate about 2K, it would be the community. The majority of the player base are kids who are not interested in the actual game of basketball. I swear my park has to be the worst addition to the franchise since VC. It has breeder what I call "2K Twitter".

These are the type of guys you have never heard of flares or pistol action. They don't even watch full games. These are Dawkins and ximo pierto highlights sorta guys. I get it! They're the driving force behind micro transactions. They type of players that will spend $1000 a year on 2K alone. But these types completely ruin the game.

NBA 2K20 is the best this game has been gameplay wise since 2K11. It's right on par with the goat of 2K's and it's all soon to be ruined because Mike and the boys over at 2K let's kids (who I doubt have even watched a full game of basketball let alone played any organized ball) shape the way a simulation basketball game is being played. It's the same year after year, it's an ongoing joke that just isn't funny anymore.

In the future they need to figure out a way to patch separate game modes. That way the sim guys don't suffer so much when the kids complain that a basketball game is playing too much like basketball.

I love it. I can already tell this will be my favorite 2K IF they don't make any big changes, but unfortunately I am already seeing the twitter complaints. I guess I'll be enjoying it while it lasts...

It's really a damn shame...I have yet to watch a NBA game where teams were 100% from the 3 and/or in the paint....

Yea it seems to be the same every year. Out of the box it seems to play pretty well, shooting percentages are pretty good too. Then patches come and change it.

I would wonder if it's possible to make changes just to MyPark etc. that don't impact the other modes. Feels like it should be, but I guess it would just be if those things are on different enough paths to do it.

Also, I love watching Dawkins highlights even after having watched the whole NBA game, but I know you weren't really besmirching highlights themselves just if it's their only path to watching.

What he meant by that (I think) is that highlights (much like summer workout videos posted by NBA stars) can be very misleading if you take it all in without context and don't really represent the flow or rythym of the full game. Like watch last year's Zach LaVine highlights, he looks like the MVP of the league! I'd assume some people just watch those and expect to replicate that in the game and pretty much never miss a shot lol

Haha yeah yeah, I know what he meant more or less, I just wanted to say I appreciate the hell out of having FreeDawkins highlights every night as well during the NBA season, even as someone who binge watches the NBA.

Kinda like MyGm but it really needs to let us use custom draft classes.

I don't even know what to say. The game feels awful with this speed update. We had the perfect simulation basketball game, now the game is playing like a track and field game rather than a basketball one. I'm gutted. I suppose there's always sliders, but this is the one time the game was nearly perfect out of the box, now that's history and we have to resort to sliders again.

Isn’t it like that every year? Lol that’s why I’ve stopped buying 2K. They always cave in to the Twitter Casual pressure.

I’ve quitted basketball video games all together because of these Twitter casual players who are not serious about basketball and play to only win only, not to emulate the real game of the NBA. 2K is always a great basketball game until a week after release, then 2K caves into the Twitter casual basketball fans who want more of a video game so they can exploit and win easier online. I’ve given up on basketball video games 2 years ago since it seemed like I spent more time editing rosters and game play sliders than actually having fun playing the game on the court.

It hasn't even been a week! 2K caved to the casuals just three days after release. It's truly unbelievable. I went from being in love with the game to being disgusted.

Best advice would be, find a way to disconnect from the Internet once you get 2K after the Day1 launch in order to maintain the gameplay out of the box. 2K will always cave into the casual twitter requests, it’s how they make more money.

I guess I'll slow down the game speed today then.

Even the freaking 2KLeague guys don't get enough time to give input
