Yeah that's the problem. Once you're over a 92 you'll get matched up on full squads most of the time. I really wish there was a random Rec where you can okay pick up and then a Rec for full teams. Even when we have a full squad it's still hard to match up if you don't have a ton of chemistry. I've got friends i run with every once in a while, then friends i run quite a bit with. And while the ones i know well are solid, sometimes we're running positions we don't usually do. So for instance, someone might be running big that doesn't do it very often. Sometimes that can be problematic.

It's been 3 months since I played a Rec game because of the matchmaking.

Yeah, they definitely changed the matchmaking. I've been grinding with a new player I created recently and basically, if I play with my friends, it's all 95+ overall guys and I'm just trying not to embarrass myself and if I play alone it's all 90 and below guys and I generally can win the games singlehandedly because it appears to be mostly people that have never played before. It's an extremely drastic difference now.

Lol yeah it's crazy. On my 92 OVR paint beast i had 2 games in a row where i had 40 points and 25+ rebounds. Then i played a game with my buddies on my 96 SF and had 10 points and 7 rebounds. Lol

Nothing like those 3 point guard line ups ??

            Those games are INTSANT losses......lol

Stupid idea, can 2k not have slots for each position that can just fill up ?

Have a pg slot, sg slot, sf slot, pf slot, c slot and just matchmake and fill each slot so each team is balanced with all 5 positions......again, stupid idea ???

yes, very stupid. Because then match making in pick up games would take even longer.

If you're looking for a better (easier) Rec experience, go in with a 92 or under rated player. You'll get much more favorable match ups.

I’d rather wait longer and get a balanced game positions wise vs a quicker found match with 3 point guards......

That’s just me. I’m an old head now....what do I know......

You would wait a VERY long time.

Also, because there are point guards going up to 6'6", and a very large percentage at 6'5", there's not much difference between them and SFs at this point. 2K gives PGs more stat points and more badges than any other position which is why so many people make them. Create a PG and a SF with the exact same build and size and the PG will be better.

The biggest matchup problem is getting on a squad where playmaking stretch 4 gets put at center and the other squad has a dedicated rebounder build. I played a game where the opposing center had 37 points and 37 rebounds because we had a 76 playmaking stretch at the 5.

the pg may have more badge upgrades but that doesn’t make them better height has always been a plus in 2k.

Height has always been a plus in basketball in general tbh.

Add the proper skill to that height and well you should dominate.

Lebron, durant and Giannis off the top of my head...

Sean Bradley was not Yao Ming. Boban Marjonovic is not Kristaps Portzingis. I mean... Where do you come up with your arguments? Two players at the same height can and should have vastly different skill sets. Just because you're tall doesn't mean you're going to get minutes. Sure, Boban had a great game right before the season was suspended. But any player can have a great game or even a great stretch of games (Jeremy Lin). The point i think most people have been saying for years is that there needs to be more to this game than being tall. Manut Bohl, Tacko Fall.... These guys are giants, but even Sean Bradley had some form of talent.

In 2k you can create a 7'3 skinny light weight and match up with a same height max weight with relatively no difference. If anything, the light weight character seems to do better in some situations.

If someone brought a Spud Webb type character out, he'd get demolished online.

Do you see elite teams in MyTeam using Allen Iverson at PG? Of course not... Cuz you can slap a LeBron or Giannis in at PG and dominate. Couple years ago my buddy put Galaxy Opal Shaq as his PG.

I have a 6'5 PG im using right now for the 92 and under rec games I've been playing. I've DESTROYED anyone smaller than me.

It should be give and take. I would gladly go 6'3 or even 6'2 for the type of player i like, a slashing dribbling PG. But those characters would get smashed online.

I don't get smashed, lol. I hold my own until my matchup decides he wants to dance between 1-2 bigs for the entire game. I so hate that...if you're good, then beat me without screens and shooting as soon as you see me get trapped in the suction animation.

Which is why I got my account banned for two weeks, lol. I played a game where the bigs were constantly screening for my matchup, then he got full of himself and "tried" to go at me straight up. Got two steals and made him pick up the ball multiple times. From there, they right back to setting screens for him.

In my anger and without thinking, I sent the message "Do your bigs f*ck your girl too, since it takes no skills to watch someone do all the work for you?". Yup...email notification 30 seconds later, lol.

I sent out 2 hate messages last night. Both times the 2 guard tried to ice me out by coming down for the ball every inbound since i was the 1. I wouldn't care if dudes were decent. If they were hitting all their shots i would have been fine just working on my defensive badges. But their center and PF buddies kept inbounding them the ball and they'd either get a turn over or brick. The first game i had 6 assists to the other players, the bigs too in the first quarter and a half. It was only until ****boy realized he wasn't getting the ball because he was never open. Why you may ask was he never open? He had a CPU on him before the game started. When this happens to me offball I'll typically just space and hope i get the ball on the break. But noooooo he would go down and launch right in the AI's mouth or drive into heavy traffic. Now that I'm playing PG more I've softened my stance on bigs crowding the paint. It's infuriating offball as I'm strictly catch and shoot for the whole game, which isn't my strong suit. But when I'm the 1 I'll dump down instead of driving to see if they'll give me an easy assist. I try not to do it when both bigs are down there, but if i see one doing work I'll feed him. It totally means i can't score as I'm still working on my shot, but I'll take 4-5 easy assists cuz i need those playmaking badges.

But i swear, the second time that happened last night it only took 3 possessions of them doing it from tip and i was holding my nuts on the 3 point line and not even guarding my man. I sent him a message telling him to make a PG if he wants the ball all game.

Worst part is both dudes ended with like 3 makes on 16 attempts. They were like clones of each other.

I'm actually getting wary of these "shooters" under 92 because they don't have all their badges. Even with HOF dimer they lay brick after brick wide open. I wanna scream at them to turn their meters off and just watch the jumper. I've had 60-something jumpers all year with limited badges and i can green cuz my meter is off. I'm only shooting around 40% all year in Rec but that's actually pretty high for me. Most years I've been low 30s cuz I've never played a "sharp" and i refuse to. It's nice i get SOME kind of jumper on my slasher builds this year.
